They tried though, unlike, say, us. I thought Hughton was a top, top manager, you can't possibly be suggesting that he got it wrong. Well Pardew actually tried in the FA Cup and still cocked up, so I don't know what that says about him. And what on earth has Pardew got to do with this discussion? Get a life, man. You don't see how he fits into this argument? I think you need a time out. Get yourself down to a League 1 game and see how Carroll is doing...

Take your own shit elsewhere if you don't like it...or ignore me.

Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?
Frazzle replied to kirkwdavis2001's topic in Football
Well some people are apparently happy that Wenger has lost... Priorities.... -
Lawro the racist brings up the language issue.
-
Come on and lose.
-
Yup. A lot of people seem to ignore this. No doubt they'll be complaining next season when we have a few injuries.
-
Billy Davies. Thanks

Fergie, Dalglish, McLeish...is there a Scottish manager who doesn't look like an alcoholic?
-
You play either way depending on the situation. Don't see how it's that hard to grasp.

Nope. If Arsenal win the Carling Cup it goes to 6th (assuming they finish top five which they will). If a top six club win the FA Cup it goes to 7th, runner up gets f*** all. If Liverpool win the Europa League and finish in the top five then 8th can get into Europe. We want Arsenal to win this, Man Utd etc to win the FA Cup and Liverpool win the Europa League and finish in the top five. That gives us the best chance of getting into Europe. What happens if Man City win the Europa League? The same I assume? Yeah. Winner gets a place in for the next season, so if they're already qualified it goes to the next in the league. I thought they'd scrapped that as well though? Isn't that why Liverpool had to cry their way into the Champions League the season after they won it?
-
Liverpool winning the Europa league would be a nightmare. Hope Man City do it in that case.

Imagine if RVP stayed fit how good he would be...

If Arsenal win, 7th is a european spot. Nope. 6th. I thought 6th was anyway? Ah well, the principle is the same. No, it's the top 5. But it would be 7th if the FA Cup was won by a top 5 team as well, oui? I read somewhere that two top 4 teams need to make the FA cup final otherwise the runner up will go into Europe. I think that's the case. Wrong, it changed a few years back. Only the winner gets a place. Ah, fair enough.

Was going to post the same. Idiots.

Surely it's just best to play which ever way fits the situation. We shouldn't be stubborn to a philosophy, yesterday was an example when the ball should've been booted away.
-
It's because there are parallels to be found. Everyone acknowledges that the levels of skill etc. are completely different though.

Ah, yeah, I do agree with you. I was just thrown by the 'apart from Tiote' part. -
Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?
Frazzle replied to kirkwdavis2001's topic in Football
Absolutely. Aside from Tiote, yesterday's team wouldn't even have been our first choice XI last season - in the Championship. The potential of the squad is absolutely massive. What do you mean? Yesterday's team wouldn't have been our first choice XI in the Championship. Never mind the Premiership against far superior opponents. I'm probably being thick but you said apart from Tiote? Surely Jose and Colo would be first teamers? I guess I'm just misinterpreting what you're saying. -

Who would have thought that Stephen Carr would captain a team at a Wembley final after leaving us? OTHER THAN A PLAYOFF FINAL PEDANTOS!!!

Nolan will never be a Tiote type player though, that's why we have Tiote. It's like saying Shearer wasn't skinning defenders like Bellamy did. Tiote shouldn't have to cover the whole midfield when Nolan stands two yards in front of Coloccini though should he? No need to reply to this Stu just post the Kinnear dog as you usually do. (What question are you trying to ask?) A rhetorical one?
-
Hypothetically if we received a £6m bid for him in the summer what would you do? I personally would probably reject it.
