  1. I don't see anything wrong with playing the ball to Tiote at all and see nothing else open to Coloccini because he had Sturridge closing in on him which stopped him from playing it to Nolan who was in space. http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/2286/boltongoal2.jpg He could have booted it away? We aren't good enough to play it out of defence all of the time. Countless times we've cocked up doing it. Tiote against Blackburn for one. This time though was more to do with Coloccini taking the wrong option. Coloccini could see what was in front of him, Tiote couldn't, that's why Coloccini should have taken a better option and that's why Tiote was solely at fault for the Blackburn goal.

Who cares though? I'd rather we went over top in support of our players than over the top pessimist moaners like many on here. Not directed at you Pilko.
  3. Tiote wasn't under immense pressure when Coloccini played the ball to him, he had one Bolton player behind him and one in front of him who was on the ground. Nolan was to the left of Tiote and in a bit of space, Enrique was to his right. The problem was that Tiote played the ball to Elmander and not Enrique, that had nothing to do with Coloccini who had no other ball to play, other than to Tiote or hoof it out of play when it looked like we could play the ball out. Nolan has a player coming up behind him and would've been under the same pressure. Coloccini had the ball facing away from his own goal and the onus was on him to deal with it or boot it into touch. To give it to Tiote, under pressure, with his back to goal was stupid. It didn't look like we could play it out at all to me, Bolton had about five men with a ten metre square, if that's when we should look to play short balls out of defence then I think we need to sign a couple of players from Barcelona.
  4. I guess people just wanted to support him being supporters and all. You could see he knew he had done wrong. Sorry but no. The way he got some standing ovation as if he was Sir Bobby back from the dead was abit of a pisstake. How?
  5. He may have worked hard by his own standards as he looked knackered but its hardly a compliment. While Tiote was covering the whole of the midfield, Nolan was standing in front of the CBs.

  7. Coloccini gets very little blame as he made a perfectly good pass to Tiote who then tried to get the ball to Enrique but it got nowhere near him and went straight to Elmander. The pass was stupid because it put Tiote under immense pressure. Like it or not, it was not a very good idea.
  8. Coloccini played the ball to Tiote when he was surrounded by about three players. The pass itself wasn't bad but the idea was terrible. Tiote obviously has to take some blame but Colo is not blameless.

Wasn't at the West Ham game, can imagine why they sang his praises, but can't remember any chants for him against Spuds or Arsenal? Maybe not massive one but I've heard a few chants for him. Arsenal game I think, pretty much all the ones he's scored in I guess.
  10. It's funny how Carroll supposedly had an outside chance of playing the Sunderland game...almost two months on now. Let's hope the injury gets worse and worse.
  11. He'd be a very handy signing. An absolute terror on his day. If he had a final ball I think there'd be quite a lot of hype about him. Sounds like Jonas

It's happened a few times to be fair, since the West Ham game.

Yesterday was one of his best games for his all-round play I though. Better than most of the games he's scored in.
  14. Are you just trying to pick an argument? The only way I can make sense of your statement is if I factor in your age: When Woody played for us, you were not old enough to remember and most importantly UNDERSTAND how good Woodgate was. The ONLY reason why Leeds sold Woodgate was because they were knee deep in debt. They HAD to sell. That's why you rate Ferdinand as a better player too, because him you can remember. Ferdinand is a better athlete in the sense that he's not injured all the time. But Woody ON the pitch is all about athleticism. He's unbeatable in the air, a fantastic tackler and fast. The fact that you manage to say that Woody is an inferior athlete (on the pitch) compared to Ferdinand, proves to me that you never saw him play when he was at his best. But what really separates Woody from Ferdinand is the formers coolness even in stressful situations. Ferdinand can loose his head sometimes then, Woody never did. When Woody played, Bramble and O'Brien suddenly took their game to another level. Woody was only 23 when he was with us (1 year younger than you're now) and already then he was a complete defender. How's that for class. That's why Ferdinand ended up at Man U and Woodgate at us, clearly. The bias on here in regard to Woodgate is incredible, frankly, but that part in bold is beyond a joke. I seem to remember you calling Woodgate an alcoholic so-and-so etc. and you didn't seem his biggest fan. Seems the bias works both ways.
  15. This. It was a ridiculously bad timed challenge, over the ball, could've had devastating effects had Elmander kept his leg on the ground. People condem de Jongs tackle, but in my opinion his was less wreckless than this one. Elmander couldve broken his leg ffs. de Jong's was less reckless because Elmander could have broken his leg?
  16. Yup. Parker is still massively overrated now. In the two games against West Ham Tiote showed him up for what he is.
  17. Name a better one over the last 8 years. Nesta is the only one who comes close. What do you keep saying eight years for though? He hasn't been the best over that period. There have been times during that period where he has been the best but over the last two years I'd say Pique has been the best around. Unless you're trying to work out some sort of average of the last eight years, which I'm not sure how you're doing.
  18. The last two seasons he's hardly played. I wouldn't say he's been the best in the world like..
  19. Shit paper I guess. As I posed in the Jonas thread they think Man City are after him.

  22. I thought that we'd got the better of the two and I think that would have been proven if Woodgate was made of something other than glass. Yup.
