Was interesting that we didn't have anyone closely marking him. He seemed to find a load of space in the 2nd half and yet we didn't pick him up any better as the game went on. I wondered whether it was intentional (i.e: mark everyone else up top and leave him) or not? He dropped deep a lot I think and we try to avoid being dragged out of position. Best just leave him and deal with him when he gets towards our third.

This was his first game in the middle alongside a decent partner (Tiote) and it was against Chelsea, at least see how he is against worse teams with Tiote alongside him.

I thought Guthrie was very poor personally. Tiote carried the midfield on his own and Guthries corners went to Cech every time. His corners being rubbish doesn't have anything to do with him showing for the ball though. He didn't stand out, we were playing Chelsea though! I just thought he got stuck in, more so than Nolan most of the time.

Guthrie showed for the ball a lot today. Much more than Nolan usually does anyway.

I thought he played well. The Telegraph report says he 'tormented' Bosingwa, may have gone a bit far but he had them worried with his direct running.

I wasn't talking about goals.

If Campbell and Taylor play well in the next few games we should stick with them. In order to work out the best partnership overall we would have to chop and change wouldn't we? Just stick with what's working I think.

We played the champions to be fair to him though. They were gonna get chances, they would've done with Colo and Williamson in the team. I thought both Sol and Taylor played well, to draw with Chelsea they've got to have played fairly well.

It's more than Jonas has dipped. And I still think Routledge is more creative. I would've said so last season but Jonas seems to have stepped up better to be fair, even though he is frustrating sometimes.

That is the right isn't it?

Cole didn't seem to venture forward much though (whether that's down to Routledge's presence, who knows?) whereas Jonas was forced back a bit more it seemed. Like I say, I wouldn't drop Jonas. You could use the same argument against Routledge saying he shouldn't replace Jonas after one decent game.

He's been playing well though, I'd definitely have him playing in away games.

Taylor and Campbell played really well today. Coloccini and Williamson won't find their way back into the team if Sol and Taylor carry on like this.
