Bollocks. I pressed next on the Michael Owen thread and thought it was taking me to the next page on that thread. Ended up here. Therefore I thought the above was about Owen and I was just about to do somersaults.

Gte me his email address and I will, email seems to be the way these things are done. You know where it's at, no messing about. If I rang I would just get all soppy and start declaring my love I just can't be arsed working out the Singapore dialling-code business. You need an email address, hence the reason we've seen some potential action today after the statement yesterday. Who's idea was it to put the email ad on? It was clearly it was a top move. do you really think todays action was because of the e-mail statement yesterday............ "mr mcmahon do you think newcastle united at one hundred million pounds is a good option" "yes" "ah bugger...can't find the e-mail address, just have to pass then" My money is on sarcasm. darn. sometimes i'm just toooo literal. Soz.

I've always liked Martins for some reason, but he did go downhill in my estimations towards the end of this season. Still one of my favourite 5 NUFC players but it really is slim pickings now. I'd hate to see him do well in another shirt but if we can get £7m plus for a £70k a week player then it's a no-brainer. If he agreed to half his wages (I don't understand how this is likely with any player) then I'd like to hold on to him. As other posters have said though, it's all politics with players now - if he says he wants to stay he may well be just trying to make himself look better than the likes of N'Zogbia, Owen and Given.

Hopefully that's what we're still paying Michael Owen for. He might take his time getting through the horse porn though. Couldn't score in a stable tbh.

I think bigchrisfgb's raised an interesting point - wouldn't it be fantastic if there were say 10-20 top-flight games on terrestrial telly? BBC can't really justify paying for Premier League rights with the licence payers' money, but the Championship games are a good start. Would be great if league football on TV became more of an event again - Super Sunday's become routine as fuck.

Not picking your post apart because I agree with it, but just saying I HATE Paul Jewell. Time wasting's one of my biggest gripes in football and his teams treat it like an art form. Plus he's s****. I am not keen on any of the names I listed either and Jewell did not impress at Derby. I just cannot think of any genuine alternatives to Shearer. The obvious ones - Bruce, Martinez, Coyle and possibly Mowbray are no longer available. Foreign managers are an unlikely option now as well. When people say "definitely not Shearer", I am just wondering who their preferred choice is because I honestly cannot think of who they might be. Aye fair enough, I thought that was what you were getting at. I just don't need an invitation for a bit of Jewell-hating.

How do you think they reply to any prospective bidders? My guess is 'got MSN?'
-
Aye they could have at least registered a new email prefix to avoid confusion, e.g. [email protected], [email protected] or just plain [email protected].
-
It's crossed my mind but he'd have to be a richer man than that to carry out such spite. He surely thinks in cold, hard cash.
-
I just can't believe Ashley came out with all that shite about how he'd made mistakes and he just keeps messing it up more and more. What serious party is going to be prevented from buying NUFC because they couldn't find a way of getting in touch? Which rich individual or consortium was 50/50 on buying NUFC and is now going "well we might as well go for it now lads, we've got the email address. Save on the phone minutes". It seriously seems like they're taking the piss here, I agree with other posters on that.

Kills me that I don't know if you're kidding or not. Llambias would be stupid not to take an inquiry from [email protected] seriously. Fucking email. Yeah, load of bollocks. I only conduct business like this on Facebook, they know fuck all.

As was mentioned earlier though, after June he's out of contract and therefore not our problem. We might have a problem getting rid of some of the high-earning wasters with years still on there contracts however.

Anyone know of a torrent doing the rounds? I'm over in Oz and haven't got Foxtel. This, would really appreciate it if I could see this and can't find it anywhere.
-
Spot on. I was devastated when we went down, then got a bit of optimism back as daft football fans do. Every day that goes by here is fucking up our chance of going up first time round. And if we don't go up this season, we're knackered cos it will get harder and harder. Absolutely infuriating times.

Sunderland appoint Steve 'I bleed black and white' Bruce as new manager

http://www.thespoiler.co.uk/index.php/2009/06/03/open-for-business-alan-shearers-1-shop Just in case you were thinking about the mackems "ah bless them, let them have their little moment in the sun" and forgot why you hate these twats (unlikely, admittedly) click the link above. This was in The Sun today - I've got the pleasure of working with hilarious cockneys who inexplicably support Liverpool and he was only too keen to show it to me. Even in their moment of relative 'glory' the mackems can't help but focus their attentions on us. And btw I'm well aware that taking one daft shop owner as representative of their fans is hypocritical given the way that I know we're unfairly generalised in the media but they just seem small-time it's ridiculous. Can you imagine a similar stunt in Newcastle? I'd like to think that there are sections of their support that cringe at this stuff but occassionally dropping in on one of their forums suggests not. -
Didn't catch it properly but SSN just said Martins or his agent has claimed that Arsenal, Villa and Everton have all made enquiries about him.

Pwnage: Barcelona bum Man Utd 2-0, win the CL
Interpolic replied to Taylor Swift's topic in Football
Aye, peoples' interpretations of that Barca-Chelsea semi have become tedious in the extreme. -
FFS whose bright idea was it to give computers to mackems?

Only positive to come from Setanta showing Premier League games was that I got to meet Les Ferdinand. Him and Steve McManaman did the pundit stuff on a Newcastle 5.15 game and went to Tup Tup Palace that night. I was there with my lass when they walked in (I swear I only went once, true story). I bypassed McManaman pretty sharpish and went and shook the Les' hand. Was a bit mortified the next day when I realised that all I could muster was "Hi Les, you're... you're amazing", pretty sure he thought I was a right freak.
