  1. you could base it on the general incompetence of the rest of the league Not really, sorry - that doesn't answer my question at all. An English team has only gone unbeaten once in a 20+ team size league in over a hundred years, why did we start talking about this in October? It's insufferable already and there might be 6 months of it left yet.
  2. How the fuck has this "Will Chelsea go the season unbeaten?" shit worked its way into the general football vernacular? Presumably it started when some football journalist pondered it after 7 or 8 games, we're still only 11 games in. I know they've got a great squad but this is ridiculous.
  3. He spent a fair whack of money for those days like, especially in 1995 - Ferdinand, Ginola, Hislop and Barton cost £14m between them at a time when the British transfer record was £7m for Cole (or maybe £8.5m for Collymore, actually).
  4. “That we have really put ninety minutes together – because the Premier League is such that you can play well for seventy minutes and still lose. You need to have ninety minutes of solid play from the subs and everybody else, including the staff". http://memecrunch.com/meme/4NZ4/haha-youre-a-cunt/image.png
  5. Love it how it's justified by comparing it to last season, when Lambert oversaw a season in which they were also absolutely shit.
  6. He'd accept it with humility and good grace, so I'd have no problem with it.
  7. "not fisical enuff m8, ditund suit the English game" his career would be fucked like 'He's a complete freak and absolute weirdo mate.' I still love it how they're 2 ways of saying the same thing.
  8. Yep, they sort of won the league by accident last year. If Mourinho's ego hadn't been big enough to think he could turn Torres' form around and they bought a proper striker instead then Chelsea would have probably won it. Even Liverpool should have sealed the deal the position they were in, as you say
  9. Can't bear this thread at the minute like. I used to think I'd take a few days off work the day he left, now I think I might just pack in my job altogether.
  10. As long as they win their 3 home games against QPR, Sunderland and Leicester, while losing the away ones they'll be sound, aye.
  11. Honestly man, nice one Pards - you've got one of the top 10 squads in the league and you'll probably not have us finish 18th or lower. Marry me.
  12. Who the fuck actually could get this squad relegated?
  13. Suits us to have played 3 teams who've looked fairly disinterested whilst our kids are still racing round brimming with enthusiasm. It's given me a bit more interest tbf, now we know the manager's safe as houses for the time being. Can't help getting a bit of a thrill seeing the likes of Perez, Abeid and Aarons coming in, doing well and looking capable of being good players. I expected nowt from any of them this season. Getting to the stage where I know I'll watch every game so I need to take any small pleasure I can get so that it's not a complete and utter waste of time.
  14. I think we're just playing younger, pacier players with a point to prove tbh. Can't see much of a change in style at all.
  15. It's reminiscent of Spurs last year really.
  16. Both games absolutely dreadful for 70 minutes. I didn't really enjoy either, the last 20 were canny but I was still annoyed about having to watch the previous 70. Dreadful is a bit of an overstatement but aye they were hardly classics but we're never going to dominate a game for large periods - it's against everything Pardew believes in plus we're nowhere near good enough on the ball to keep it for large spells. The way we're playing at the moment is almost a carbon copy of that run we had last year and like last year it'll not last because it's not sustainable. I think dreadful's fair to be honest, we showed no desire to do anything but survive and make things as tedious as possible in either. Was the same against Benfica as well, they're all the same game.

  18. Aye, they only thing not at all dramatic or exciting is the football, you boring old cunt.
