It only seems great business because of the ridiculous fees being mentioned previously IMO. £6m for a year's loan is mental. Are you aware of typical loan fees? It's great business. Hernandez is expected to be a £4m loan fee. Welbeck might go out on loan and we're looking a £5m loan fee there. Gyan was £5m, Lukaku £3.5, Andy Carroll £2m... This is Radamel Falcao we're talking about here. Monaco initially wanted a £20m loan fee for Falcao. Seems daft tbh, hoying £6m down the drain for nowt. Anything above £2m seems ridiculous. How much will you pay for one season of Falcao with his wages as well?

16/1.

Change of location, new competition, new teammates, new contract.. Plenty reasons. Well I'm aware that there are reasons FFS. I'm saying that you'd think a vaguely talented player wouldn't waste most of their career sat on the bench of a club that's too big for them.
-
Don't understand players who hop from one bench to another.

God Almighty, what an absolute drip.

Twab?

It was funny like, can remember Blackburn fans being delighted to see the back of him and perplexed they were even getting compensation for it. Typical reactionary Shepherd appointment. Get a hard nut in since Bobby was too soft. Best players fall out with him and never play.

Liverpool sacked off Houllier for Benitez despite finishing 4th to our 5th. We sacked Robson 4 games into the season and appointed Souness.
-
Excellent point and it was still quite fresh in the mind at times, hence the reason why anyone with any sense knew Shepherd doing that was stupid. We were in an excellent position to get a top manager in if he hadn't done that, whether it was that summer or the next. Obviously ended up with Souness. Theoretically if he had stayed who would you have liked to have come in? Difficult to say without casting my mind back to who would have been possible in the summer of 2005 but the summer of 2004 saw Mourinho/Benitez come to England of course. We could have done far, far better than Souness obviously.

I'm still amazed he got away with this one. If another manager criticised our fans there would be big problems. Look at the reaction to Ferguson's "wee club" comments (despite Pardew saying similar many, many times), however at least Ferguson had the decency to apologise and express his respect for NUFC's fans and say they deserved better.
-
Aye that "tough, tough atmosphere" was the most positive the ground had been all season. The fans got behind the players 100% and go his back 100%. It was a tough atmosphere if your name was Alan Pardew, if you were playing in a black and white shirt you were feeling 9 feet tall. He's just a compulsive liar who's now in the process of being found out by even the most dim-witted of our fanbase. Even the thick cunts who follow us have seen through him. See Anita's comments after the game.
-
There weren't enough people at the (cup ) game for his liking.
-
The one where he says something along the lines of the fans being too passionate for the clubs's own good but it is what it is is the worst.
-
I seem to say this every 5 minutes but Shepherd telling the world it was SBR's last season was the worst thing he ever did. Was trying to strike a happy medium between sacking him and keeping him on but totally fucked it and led to a situation where our next 3 managers were Souness, Roeder and Allardyce.
-
I agree with Spider tbh, a talented group of players had been turning in increasingly poor performances for 18 months.
-
It's just manager bollocks. Being analysed to a ridiculous degree.

Jesus Christ man, when it comes to Pardew you're Rain Man. You're right like, those quotes are almost identical. Hates one of his teams trying to win by more than one goal, Pardew.
