£4.5m sounds like Man Utd getting off lightly and Moyes being a nice bloke about it to me. Daft question - how does this stuff work, would Moyes sitting on his arse the next 5 years mean he was fully entitled to £5m/year or whatever? Need it be dependent on when he finds another job, how much that pays etc or are all of these things down to the individual set of negotiations?

Sherwood didn't deserve the Spurs job, he's made a decent fist of it (at best, really) but half a season could easily be a honeymoon period sort of situation. Pardew was at Southampton less than 18 months, usually takes him a touch longer than that to suck the life out of everyone involved with the club he's managing.

If you look at his time at other clubs he's had a tendency of starting off well then getting found out and being sacked for doing a shit job. God knows if Reading, West Ham, Charlton and Southampton fans had to put up with his needlessly negative tedium-ball to such a degree, but when it became clear this would be what I was watching more often than not I knew he wasn't for us and wanted him sacked.

4-0 win please. Pardew would claim a moral victory in those circumstances and you know it.

Bet they had nothing to say on our situation. Not exciting enough for MotD.
