  1. A lot of hatred for someone I am presuming you have never even met. What evidence are you waiting for btw? A manager of the year award? A manager of the month award? I think he'd have to turn into a completely different person at this point, if I'm entirely honest.
  2. Nee worries, keep asking a 50-year old tosser for a wave and let us know when he respects the invitation.
  3. I'll hate him until I'm given enough evidence he doesn't deserve to be hated, cheers.
  4. "... to make sure I hold those traditions". Well you're not. Stop suggesting you are. That's where I was coming from. Sorry for not enjoying.
  5. Alan Pardew's one of the biggest tossers who has ever had the job, so nah - I don't think he is upholding BOBBY FUCKING ROBSON'S traditions. What a cheeky cunt.
  6. Doesn't go on until a certain time, might be midnight tonight.

Was more like £14m for the 4. Cole cost £6m plus Gillespie who was valued at £1m, so £7m. Statto, statto.
  8. So many levels. It's brilliant. Has attracted a few comments on Faceys. Keeping laughing at the thought of Crooks leaving the house with his tail between his legs.

And Hislop (summer 95). How the fuck did we get Ginola for £2.5m?
  10. Not sure tbh, he jumped a division to join Arsenal (he'd been talking to them and Man Utd I think, no way was he going to stay in the Championship), plus he's been back there on loan since he left.
  11. The signings we make have nowt to do with the manager so it's more a case of wondering whether Hughton would have done better/worse with the improved players that came in. Not sure personally, Hughton's starting to look very average indeed with Norwich but did a great job for us.
  12. Their squad's nowhere near as good as ours was last season, but aye I'm surprised Jol has managed to fuck it up so royally there like. Fulham have looked awful.
  13. Jol never almost got Spurs relegated.
  14. Did you get (maybe joint) best in the competition this week then? I got 72 this week, which is better than usual.
  15. GW14: Crystal Palace 1-1 West Ham Arsenal 3-0 Hull Liverpool 3-1 Norwich Man Utd 2-1 Everton Southampton 2-0 Aston Villa Stoke 0-0 Cardiff Sunderland 0-1 Chelsea Swansea 1-1 Newcastle Fulham 1-2 Tottenham West Brom 1-3 Man City
  16. Just read through the first 40 or so pages of this thread again. When these things happen, months and years pass and you get used to it, as cold as it seems your mind switches and fundamentally your first thought about Gary Speed is that he's dead and you don't (or I don't) often dwell on the monumental shock and confusion you felt when you first heard the news and in the days and weeks afterwards when what had happened began to sink in. I still feel very shocked about the whole thing when I do dwell on it. I had big issues with depression many years ago and have had a few bad patches since, but when I'm down I make sure every fucker knows about it, I go to the Doctors, I take time off work, I seek advice from friends and family. I like to carry on like I understand depression more than most, and I certainly take it very seriously, but I can't for a moment comprehend a person going through such pain mentally and holding it all in, giving off an impression to the world of a happy, normal person and also appearing that way to close friends. I suppose the main thing to remember is that he was a fantastic footballer and a lovely person, someone to really look up to in every respect. But unfortunately he'll always be someone that's remembered just as much for the manner of his death, just because people are still completely bewildered by what happened. RIP Gary - you were universally loved and respected, which is rare and special.
