Panic sets in at this time of year. Bluffs have been called and clubs that need to sign players, sometimes just to prove they are in the market, pay silly money. yes but this is Arsene Wenger we're on about Indeed - if it is Wenger who really calls the shots. The real interest may not be from Arsenal and NUFC are simply waiting to flush out the real money? Hate the situation we are in now, we are simply waiting for the bigger clubs to move so that we can (hopefully) move on the players we want. I know that goes against the grain but it is the way it is and where we are. we actually want a player? Other than that silly slip agree, simply the fact of being a club outside the champions league (or arsenal) and the growing trend of football around europe between those with the big cash and those without getting screwed over time and again. Its a sad state of affairs when the winners of the top 4 leagues in europe are between at most 3 clubs but more often 2 or even just 1 club. Fwiw I do actually think we want to bring players in. Would imagine you probably said the same last summer. Not sure about that but I suppose the truth is on this forum somewhere. Looks like you totally avoided the forum last summer, apart from one post. Guess you must've been busy. I seem to remember not being ars*d to post much as I was pretty sure we were only going to sign one first team player. Right.

And why would we want them to rush? The longer they leave it, the more excuse we've got to spend fuck-all.

Llambias was a fucking arsehole who I'm ashamed was connected with our club.

You are a fucking idiot. -
No chance IMO, was a tidy little player who deserved more minutes for us though. As a side note, he looked mentally deranged.
-
we don't have any actual wide players full stop except for Obertan and maybe Sammy. Its a bit of a huge problem Ben Arfa is well wide, LOL.
-
Yep, better than Cabaye at NUFC.

He'll be out celebrating the clean sheet. -
I guess I'm a bit unhappy about it but not that unhappy tbh. As soon as I heard about the Arsenal bid I thought I'd go if I was him. Grim.

Much improved man, Disco. -
I hope we're not using the Cabaye stuff as a perfect excuse to stall on incoming transfers, suspect that might be the case though.

No he isn't. He's quite rightly reminding Ashley that we have a small squad and have an important PL game 3days later so we need to buy players to compete in all competitions. The squad's really not that small. We've been in far worse positions and made a far better fist of it. we're woefully short up front and have very little in reserve. He can't win here, play the reserves and get beat or win scruffily and he gets stick. Play full strength and lose colo and cisse through injury and gets stick. He's between a rock and a hard place. My heart bleeds. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/newcastle-united/kader/verein_762.html That's not too small a squad, ideally I'd like to see another striker/winger (and Cabaye replaced if he's sold) but the way he's prattling on with the "woe is me" attitude to playing against a League 2 side with the options he has is reason number 1,567,890 why he can fuck right off IMO. Every team in the country has to play at least this many games and many Premier League squads are far smaller than ours. Get over it and stop moaning, you emo cunt.

I'd sell him for £10m or whatever if it meant we'd buy the 3 players we'd then need. Our needs are generally a secondary concern though.
-
37 seems optimistic when there are so many teams he himself says we can't compete with. What an inspirational character to have around the place.
-
Ah Serie A, used to really like the Fiorentina side with Batistuta, Rui Costa, etc.
-
I'm aware. We spent the 6m on Ferdinand.
-
Did Gillespie fill the void? Ferdinand did, you lowlife!

Andy Cole and Peter Beardsley. Before that my interest wasn't as keen yet but I liked the likes of Clark, Sellars, Kelly, Peacock, Kilcline. Fancied myself as a keeper to begin with so also had a strange fascination with Tommy Wright.
