There's always an undercurrent of scepticism towards anything foreign when discussing PFMs. If you can do this with their name and it sounds like something that would naturally roll off Paul Merson's tongue then they are probably a PFM: "If his name was Antonio Púlis we'd all be raving about him, Jeff"
-
Fair enough but what I took issue with originally was the idea that you can't blame him. I can blame him and I do blame him. He knows he's shit but he fleeces club after club for the maximum amount he can, when he absolutely doesn't need the money.
-
Even if you already have 7 or 8 figures in cash and assets? That's greed, it's the problem on this planet full stop.
-
He's already done that many, many times. When is enough enough? Looking at the state of him he doesn't know the meaning of the word "enough". It's definitely greed, as ManDoon says. Us and fans of many other clubs have had to put up with his con job because he's a greedy arsehole.
-
You can't blame him for sacrificing all class, dignity, self respect for a pay off? The guy is a multi millionaire many, many times over man. People need to stop looking at this in terms of "I wouldn't mind £4m in my bank account". For him it would be yet more money he's conned out of yet another club to throw on his big fucking pile of money.

Fair enough, so have I. Casual observer these days.

Bruce has been saying for weeks he doesn't think we'll get anyone in permanently, and loans were only ever a "maybe" or "if we can" or whatever weak bollocks it was. He's been dampening expectations regarding transfers on behalf of Ashley since the back end of last season. I don't really understand this narrative that he's been treated badly or had to put up with an especially bad window. We've done arguably far more than Bruce said we would this summer.
-
He's never put a penny of his own money in that he didn't take back later or add to the debt. Agree with your post otherwise but the text in bold is an example of how Ashley has been able to control the narrative and convince even NUFC fans we need his personal investment to spend anything.

We'll end up with Chris Kamara.

Ronaldo priced at 12.5m Think I'll swap Fernandes and Toney for Gray and Ronaldo, need to take a hit though. Not having Ronaldo as captain for his debut vs Steve Bruce's Newcastle may take half a season to recover from otherwise.

"just what we need"

It was a thread for the ages. Won't forget it in a hurry. - a few pages with lists of various British men's names - a few posters wondering what the actual parameters of the "tourney" would be - Mike goes AWOL
-
he's already done that.

Bruce would never walk away. He'll be applying the same logic he's applied his entire life, i.e. "what's the best thing I can do for Steve Bruce, what benefits me the most, what makes me the most money, and fuck everyone else". The answer is not resigning from the best job he's ever had, and the last PL job he'll ever have.
-
"Scandalous" Yeah sure Luke, this goes straight to #1 on a list of ways Ashley has fucked NUFC over.
-
Tbh Bruce is lucky he got Willock. Ashley once went 4 or 5 transfer windows without signing a player for a fee permanently.
-
Good thread Will we be judging them on their PFM-ness, or... ?
-
The Ronaldo shirt sales / paying Dortmund £500k up front for Sancho and hoping they forget about the rest mean Man Utd have actually made a massive profit this summer. Decent business.
-
Don't worry mate, it won't cost Man Utd a penny in fees or wages.

I'd rather we signed him as I'll doubtless get sucked into watching a handful of games next year. Not particularly arsed though. It's laughable that we're charmless and gormless enough to run into issues with the kid's contract though. Pathetic, as is standard.
