  1. The Robson criticism was justified, it wasn't just 1 bad season but 1 and a half seasons of nothing football where it looked like we were on the slide. I wish we'd stuck with him or binned him off that summer, the biggest mistake was announcing he was on to his last season at the club. Any manager who doesn't want to consider us because of the failings of a few useless fuckers before him (obviously not talking about Robson there) isn't worth having at the club. We're a big club and a big draw and we should start fucking acting like it. You also mention that we should have given other managers more time without giving examples. So go on then.
  2. Did anyone come in for Moyes before Man Utd? Genuine question. He's been linked with better jobs, again something that never happens with NUFC managers.
  3. How small a club do you think we are man FFS? Jesus, we're so tiny.
  4. A few reports said it's one year, a few reports said we can't afford it. People choose to believe the former for some reason, desperation probably. Again, it's more based on what we've worked out about Ashley as a person and an owner. I couldn't see him committing himself to a situation where he'll waste money. However that Charles Sale article the other day did worry me because like you or someone else said, he's usually bang-on the money. Not seen that - you got a link? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2320978/Mike-Ashley-pay-Alan-Pardew-10m-sacks-Newcastle-manager-year-deal-Charles-Sale.html I read that as it would cost any club wanting Pardew £10m. You can't read properly then. Really? "The deal works both ways, so Newcastle would be looking for a Jose Mourinho-style release clause of more than £10m should another club want to poach the former West Ham boss." Aye, so it works both ways. It's a given that another club would have to pay the contract off if they wanted him, I thought you were saying it meant it didn't work the other way around, which is the only thing that anyone's disputing.

  8. Then do it all over again if Wigan beat Arsenal That doesn't matter now anyway though, a win = survival regardless. Lightweight.

I said it the other month, part of my job involves going into regular meetings with clients and I often end up getting a kicking because of what someone else has done wrong but that's another story - if my manager tells me I'll get a kicking then I invariably will but if she says it'll be good/alright, just make sure I prepare and am in the right frame of mind then it's far more likely to go well. It's the old cliche of making players feel 10 foot tall, it's so logical that only an idiot wouldn't get it.
  10. Ah right, fair enough. Maybe I'm just noticing when it doesn't work and not when it does.
  11. You used to be able to click a quoted post and it would take you back to that post, however it generally seems to take you to the start of the thread now. Bit annoying, any idea what's going on?
  12. Typically I'd agree. Can't wait this year. Me too, I've sacked off Sky Sports and want to forget football exists for a while.

I've only just caught up with the Remy/Sissoko comments. Sissoko isn't a striker. We got Gouffran who is probably playing a similar role to what Remy would have. I can't think of many excuses he could have used that he hasn't.
  14. Would imagine they're pretty p*ssed off over there mate, aye. Indeed but thought a little glance on what they're saying on the forums would be somewhat amusing... My joke went down like a lead balloon.

It's one blow after another tbh. To know how reflective his pre-match comments are of our performances generally means this is another kick in the bollocks. Yet there are people saying on here he'll definitely go for it for once, like it's beyond dispute whether he'll do that. I think we'll draw the game and I think we'll stay up, but my God we've made hard fucking work of it.

McManaman said after the game that he just had a feeling it was their day when he woke up, even though they were playing a team that cost a fortune. Can't imagine our players ever feeling like that, they seem miserable and cautious and petrified and it's a byproduct of the manager's outlook. Even when his back's against the wall like this and we need him not to be a useless cunt he can't snap out of it. It's completely and utterly baffling how he can't see the value of a positive mental attitude, or in other words our manager isn't even as smart as Kris Akabusi FFS.
  18. Mannnnnnnn, this is the sort of thing I'm fucking on about.
  19. Who said that? Some Man City fan on another forum. Me and you have different ideas of when to use the word "apparently" with no further information then.

Good post. It was clear last season we were building something on sand. You progress by playing well and dominating the opposition, otherwise you've nothing to fall back on.

For bloody f***s sake, is he actually making excuses before we play the worst team in the league, instead of worrying about them he should be coming out and saying how much we want and need this and that we're gonna give it all we've got. Not these f***ing weasel like comments from this negative t***, sick to death of this s*** now. Guarantee every other manager has said the same bollocks about QPR. It's general manager tripe to go on about not underestimating the worst team in the league. Daft to be getting annoyed at it. Not just QPR though is it? It's every week, then every week a draw is a magnificent result, and every week he sets the team up to try and nullify whatever they've got to offer. It's not to be taken in isolation. It's a constant grinding down of hopes and expectations. It gets me down listening to him say how fantastic the opposition are, the players must think "are you on smack, you fucking dullard, you've got Hatem Ben Arfa in your squad and we're sitting listening to you tell us how hard he should be working to stop Reading's wide players?" Exactly, every week it's the same. Every week there's a new reason to be afraid and not expect much.

He's the most negative bastard we've ever had managing the club, even Dalglish came across as positive when compared to this fraud. At least Dalglish thought we were a big club.

It's like a parody. 'I can't say that this game is a game that we're confident of winning' It's fucking unbelievable. Every game there are reasons to be fearful and it goes way, way beyond paying appropriate respect to the opposition. I've convinced myself he's for the chop (as you all know ) but if he's not then I'm going to have to make a conscious decision to not get so hung up on NUFC until he's gone and N-O wise go back to my more suitable place on General Chat.
