We have won every home game since the new signings, today was bad but lets not act like it changes anything. We have been very good at home since the new signings, we continue to be terrible away and the manager doesn't have a back bone. Today doesn't really prove anything to suggest we won't stay up, i would be very surprised if we don't get at least 3 home wins between now and the end. Its not good enough but i'm confident the home form will see us through. Stop acting like us staying up would be some sort of triumph against adversity. We better fucking stay up and if we do we should still get rid of him.
  2. Really? When we were winning? No. I saw people complain about HBA not being chucked straight back in and stuff like that, but by and large everyone seemed very happy with our lot. Obviously I can't account for everyone and there may have been a few complaints I may have missed, however the number of people climbing out of the woodwork and playing the "I told you so" card suggests to me that quite a few are telling porkies. I think even the most 'positive' posters on here were saying we were playing like shite but getting results.
  3. Writing one game off, against an Uber team like this , where the effort and damage involved in competing is so high, compared to the other games up coming is acceptable yes. I hope you are right. so do I..... but just imagine how we would be feeling tonight if we had gone down with glorious defeat, say 2-1 , lost a couple of players to injury, had someone sent off for a pen, etc etc. valiant effort- far reaching consequences. Having a go at winning a game of football doesn't mean that the players are going to get injured or sent off. This is a ridiculous argument. You might, MIGHT have a point if we weren't devoid of any creativity, attacking impetus or drive to out score teams and WIN games every week. It doesn't matter who we're playing. Was that a tantrum? What makes you think I was thinking about you when I mentioned Tantrums then? edit- I dont beleive we can compete with Man City without a massive fight and effort, that may be more than a point at best is worth. I didn't necessarily think you were talking about me mate, I just didn't think I'd seen any. Imo we can win any game of football on any day with the right preparation, attitude and application. Sometimes you play well and the oppositions just too good for you obviously. Today didn't have to be one of those days. ok, maybe not tantrums, but defo some spat dummies in a couple of threads, but anyway I guess thats why football is so good, it means a lot. I just feel given the season we've had re-injuries and under manned squad for half a season, that todays game cant be viewed in isolation, and a manager must consider the games after. I fully expect us to go into games of this type competing next season, if we still have a full squad/ probs less midweek games. You just know football goes in cycles and im certain we will have our day against Man City when we are in form and they have problems- thats the time to judge us. If we survive and we should, then Pardew gets next season for me, no more excuses tho, time for the shit football to stop, we need to see what this team can do with a pre season, lesser workload. I'm doing the opposite of that and I've said so. Take the last two years as proof, the football has been largely uninspiring, we won more games last season because we were very fortunate with injuries and had two strikers on hot streaks at different times. At worst the football has been diabolical and there's many, many examples of it home and away. I'd rather judge us over time, and Pardew falls way short of what we deserve imo. I honestly think you're going to be disappointed. In fact I'm pretty much positive you are. I and others voiced these concerns last season, when we were getting results and everyone was fit. so you actually do believe a manager should NOT consider the bigger picture? Consideration of the bigger picture is today's excuse for a spineless performance, what was the excuse against Wigan again? Or any of the other horror shows this season for that matter?
  4. No, that's the opposite of what happened. I thought as much Ip and David, was it the old play a defensive game but concede a goal anyway and stay the same then concede another and then TRY and attack city? We went there to get beat 4-0 or less, mission accomplished.

I honestly think you're going to be disappointed. In fact I'm pretty much positive you are. I and others voiced these concerns last season, when we were getting results and everyone was fit. What the fuck do we "deserve"? Honestly man And I didn't hear anyone whinging last season when we were winning. Are you more than happy to watch us play this way every week? Just asking, because if so then that's the difference I suppose - I'm not. And I do think we deserve a manager who will take the game to an opponent, we're a fantastic club so I'm not sure what you're on about there.
  6. People are so demanding, wanting us to play decent football now and then.
  7. It's incredible that Pardew's still making such a pig's ear of things when he was bought half a team in January like.
  8. Must be so depressing watching a team with such a negative outlook.
  9. What a fucking goal! Amazing, that.

How many times does he need to be taught this lesson? He just talks the talk man, he has no interest in retaining possession. He's a liar and a gobshite.

I'll have that as my sig actually, would rather offend Pardew than pata.
  12. Honestly, I wouldn't take it personally like. Just thought it was one of the funniest excuses yet. Considering making a list of them each week, just to prove to myself I'm not going completely insane.
  13. Come on, now! In other words a magnificent 0-0. Would imagine this is what we'll go for, going by the lack of goals in our last 4 ties. It does worry me what will happen if we go 1 down, but we'll see.

You wonder what some of the new players are thinking, they look like all of the positivity has been sucked out of them already.
  15. very clearly this, some may think its wrong- I respect thier right to this. I agree fully its the right thing to do, but to be having full on tantrums about is laughable. I haven't seen a tantrum. We just tend to discuss the manager on match day. I'm sure that's preferable to me posting that he's shite in the Pardew thread every single day? what? He's right - people tend to make a judgement game-by-game, you know, depending on the way we play. Today the excuse is that we're saving ourselves for Thursday and went for damage limitation from the first whistle, last game there was a different excuse and there'll be another one for the next negative mess of a performance.
  16. Eh? Managers are important and Pardew has been at fault many times this season but he's not the one playing. I can't criticise Pardew for the performances that Cabaye, Anita and Obertan among others put out today. The players play s*** every week and it's not Pardew's responsibility. Are you on drugs? They have played shit but at least they've usually tried every game. What makes you think that Pardew told them to approach the game with any form of attacking intent and they instead ignored orders and decided not to even try?
