About what I think? Probs not. Nah, it does appear so like. Been a strange episode and a sour ending to his time at the club.

Would like to know what's going on behind closed doors because as it stands I've lost a lot of respect for him and won't look at him as an ex-NUFC player anywhere near as fondly as I do many with a tenth of the talent who have played for us. Nowt to do with the injury stuff, just the fact that one day he was ours and the next he was off.

Aye but we needed another centre half anyway. Taylor gets injured and we're back to Williamson playing every week.

Between now and the end of the season is the perfect time to be giving the lad a few minutes, due to the lack of other options. Hopefully we'll buy a forward or 2 in the summer though and send him out on loan (unless he makes a big impact in the mean time, in which case you'd obviously keep him). I really like the look of him from the limited amount I've seen, I'm not sure there's much room for a player of his ilk in modern football a lot of the time now but perhaps he can play anywhere along the front 3 to give himself a better chance of carving out a role for himself. Fingers crossed anyway, he's a likeable chap (fucking hates mackems).

That's true, I care so little about it that I barely even notice it but when I think about it properly it'd be nice to have a few locals in and around the first team.

I really hope he can stay fit, because I'm perfectly happy with him being 1 of 3 good centre halves in the squad in that instance. History would suggest he'll break down again but I hope not. Need to definitely replace Coloccini adequately if/when he goes mind, or we'll be back to square one or worse.

Aye. Honestly. It doesn't have to be a particularly entertaining match to enjoy it, like. I guess I'm just not that much of a purist. I had some class craic with the, almost exclusively, jovial people around me. Even though it was about -13 and we were watching turgid football. The general atmosphere has improved tenfold since January. I really don't think I've laughed as much, walking out of the ground, as I did today. It was a class day. Fair enough, I've had plenty of "It was a great day apart from the football" days, not that it's as bad as that at the minute.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21736312 FA Cup semi-final draw in full: Millwall or Blackburn v Wigan Athletic Manchester City or Chelsea v Manchester United The BBC is definitely getting worse.

What a ridiculous thing to say. I remember the Keegan years, the set piece taker would just smash the ball straight out of play because scoring a goal that wasn't the result of 40 or 50 passes was beneath us. Those were the days.
-
They weren't the football feasts that people are carrying on like either. Chelsea was the first time I've been excited about an NUFC performance for a long while, I'll give you that.
-
Chelsea was an entertaining game and Southampton wasn't bad but I've still no faith we'll cut open the opposition with clever passing and movement, it's just generally getting the ball to the forwards quickly and hoping something comes off. I say it's a chore to watch because it generally is, it struck me today that I forget about it in between the games but generally during the actual game I'm bored out of my mind and can't wait for it to finish. It's massively uninspiring stuff on the whole.

Give over, man! What 'turgid' football, like? The turgid football when we came from behind to beat Chelsea? When we matched Spurs and Swansea (purists' favourites, innit) away from home. When we scored four goals at home against Southampton? Honestly, what do you want? The football's generally very poor IMO, it's a chore watching it.
-
Think people are just losing patience with the same turgid football every week. It's been better since January, but it's still almost utterly tedious stuff. Seems to me like that patch we had last season where we were playing football that was easy on the eye was the exception, rather than what we're working towards. That was 5 or 6 games out of over 100.
-
We weren't shite either tbh, thought it was a very average performance. We controlled the game, and deserved the win. I don't think even the 'forum optimists' are claiming anything more than that TBH. We play like that almost every week, if not worse. In your eyes, is it good enough? You act like it is. Some people go on like we're the smallest club in the world with everything they post.

Agree word for word. There was plenty that Pardew did well today as well as things that could be considered bad. Think some are using their general dislike for the man as a reason to bash him, but to be honest, today was an ok days work, nothing more nothing less. Nah. Worst N-O cliche going.
-
We never play particularly well, it's just better some weeks than it is others. But then again, you'll know that if you have eyes. We've been better lately, as I said before the game. However the point is that the football is tedious, there's no dynamism there whatsoever. Just pointing out that I'm bored of watching it, I've been watching us for 20 years and I don't see much point watching us when this is the best football we're aiming for. Not that I'll stop watching us or anything, I'm just saying I'm not particularly happy about it. Also just to reiterate to dcmk, you're an absolute WUM for coming out with something like "Maybe because you can't play really well every week?" Don't insult the basic perceptive skills of people who have been going to/watching the match for years and know when the football's shite every week.

My thoughts exactly. Agree. I´m dying here trying to understand how happy most in here are after that shit display. I'm really happy with the result, don't get me wrong - I'm just considering spending my weekends doing something more interesting.
