Aye, first transfer we got right in a while when we got him from Leeds. Then we went and fucked the whole thing up.

He’s got an almost 1 in 2 record for us which is what everyone regards as a very good. In that time though he has suffered injuries, not being 100% fit, and this season played with a fatigued squad behind him. Imagine what he might be able to achieve once he’s fully up and running and we improve our squad?

I think the arguement would be that the government have recently threatened to disbar clubs from competitions if they decide to breakaway, effectively meaning you have to be within the Football League and Premier League if you wish to be a professional football club in the U.K. So therefor there would be grounds that enforcing clubs to follow FFP is unfair and against the free market, as the club would effectively be non-existant without our established leagues allowing them entry.

I’m surprised Chelsea didn’t challenge it. They were on the verge of a very good kit deal with Paramount+, however the Premier League didn’t allow it because Paramount+ is a network that is in competition with the USA broadcaster of the Premier League. Well if that’s the case, get NBC to sponsor Chelsea if they really have a problem with it. To top it off, when Chelsea did find a replacement sponsor, the deal was much less and the Premier League took ages to sign it off, resulting in Chelsea not playing in a sponsored shirt for the first few games, likely resulting in yet more losses. Now I’m not exactly a fan of Chelsea, but that doesn’t sit well with me. What next? Nike asking the Premier League to put the brakes on non-Nike shirt manufacturers in the Premier League because they are the kit, and ball sponsor to them?

North Shields could afford playing at the higher level though. At the meeting the other week they were saying that their budget was 40% more than what it is now, but they were getting the crowds for it and even having supporter busses for away games. The trouble was the management never wanted to go up, they never have and they neglected to make improvements to their ground. Aside from a new changing room, and the bar/clubhouse at North Shields, nothing has changed since they moved to their current ground. It still has the smallest seated/covered area, 2/3rds of which is reserved for home, and away team officials. It has no official turnstile etc. For as long as I have known about them, they have always had the ‘Woe us’ story going on. Meanwhile other teams nearby thrive. Whitley Bay have never really just managed to get it right to go up, despite their cup success, but no doubt they would love it if they did. Hebburn over the Tyne do fantastic. South Shields, yeah I know with a backer, has came from below where North Shields were and flown. You then look at other clubs doing well, Morpeth, Ashington coming from going out of existence to having ambition etc. Heaton, and Newcastle Benfield being run decently.

Aye, was reported a few months back, but rumoured before then as well.

Our government regulators are fucking shit. Look at OFGEM in the last 18 months. The energy companies basically paid the CEO to allow them to continue ripping off customers despite global energy prices decreasing and falling back in line. People up to and including the middle class suddenly brought into the poverty line as a result and the government didn’t give a single fuck. Recently just seen how it’s took a TV drama to highlight the Post Office scandal for the government to make a comment on it. As for football, the government couldn’t care less about it. The whole shit about introducing a regulator is just lip service to try and get football fans onside knowing they are in for an absolute hammering at the next election. If it wasn’t football being massively positive for the economy, every single one of the Rugby supporting Oxbridge fuckers would be happy to see the sport banned. There is absolutely no reason for any regulator to be looking at the likes of FFP, when it’s basically only Newcastle fans, Aston Villa fans, Everton fans, and to a lesser extent Man City fans who are unhappy about it. The rest of the football community in this country is fucking happy with FFP, either their team is in the top 6 and they are protected, or they are outside it and are disillusioned enough to think that it helps them, or are will-fully happy never ever competing.

Apparently 2 clubs have snubbed Amanda and the executives calling her to her face across the table, believed to be Liverpool, and Spurs. It’s at a stage where our clubs owners/directors have no direct contact to them unless they are calling those clubs out of proposals and other shit they throw. If Liverpool are bidding for Bruno, then the likes of Barca, and Real Madrid are as well, and like fuck are we accepting Liverpools offer. Right now, unless they decided they wanted to buy Dummett, we aren’t listening to their bids for our players.
-
It will be dealt with this season. They introduced new rules which state that it has to have an outcome within something like 3 months.
-
If Everton are found guilty then surely because of their previous breaches, the punishment will be worse? It might just relegate the fuckers.
-
We won’t. Long gone are the days that we get a good player and sell them to Liverpool when we are competing for the same goal. I find it hard to imagine that our owners would even pick up a phone call by them. It is rumoured that we have no dialog with at least 2 clubs unless we are arguing against them at Premier League meetings. You just know that 1 is Liverpool.
-
Nah, none. You have to remember that outside the top 6, Newcastle, Villa, West Ham, Everton, and to a lesser extent Brighton & Brentford, no one in the leagues wants to compete. The top 6 are happy with it as it means they are protected somewhat against us spending, and the other clubs are happy because it means they don’t have to spend more money just to survive or keep up. In Europe, outside of your historic clubs, and PSG, everyone is happy because they don’t come from leagues that generates much revenue. They can still sell their players to those elite clubs for revenue, but they don’t want to many teams rocking the boat as that means they miss out on progression in Europe and the myth that they put across to their fans that they are competition, instead of just flopping like Celtic.
-
Not going to find many of them around Newcastle on a night out then.
-
Yeah. We have some tough fixtures but once we get players back we will get going again, hopefully that will mean a European spot. If not then we have to treat it like Spurs have done, and use it to our advantage. That win against Sunderland seems to have given the lads a bit of confidence back. Hopefully a couple of weeks off now and they will be more refreshed.
-
We do. Where we have our best players, we have no backup, RB aside.
-
We were close, but it just shows how far we have come. On paper we should have been wiped away, we nearly won the game, and came closer to drawing. Our team is ravaged by injury, we’ll get there, FFP will slow us down, but we’ll get there.
-
Sickening. But we need to close games out like. We can’t keep playing games where we are backs to the wall for large periods, it’s just too much to cope chasing games all the time man.
-
So are Man City just allowed to be having a go at officials all they like?
-
No chance of a penalty then?
-
Fuck off man.
-
Why would there be more than 3 minutes added on? There has been no stoppages.
-
That not a foul on Bruno? Fucking 2 of them on him.
-
What was that fucking foul given for?
