  1. Relegated teams are riddled with examples of games where they were the better team and luck/lack of finishing cost them and they ended up losing a game they should have won, it’s actually the hallmark of relegated teams.
  2. Neither are a good indicator to be honest. They got caught out with us tactically with the high line and our relentless pressing and pace up top. I think Emery will learn from that, and today they are playing a team who if they don’t go down, will be circling the drain. They are not as good as people make out, but they are also not as bad as people make out.
  3. This. Man Utd bought all the best players in the 50’s/60’s. Probably the first team to do so since the game went professional. In the 70’s/80’s Liverpool did it via the Moores family, they also owned Everton. Back came Man Utd in the 90’s. The only team who started to get stick for it was Blackburn though, then of course Man Utd started kicking off when Real Madrid were able to buy their biggest players. The ‘organic income deals’ they gained were only available because of their initial purchasing above everyone else. Even the likes of Arsenal and Spurs were not too far behind, being one of the major players who brokered the Premier League breakaway in the process.
  4. Shame, but they did well getting to the final. I feel like they haven’t been their best all tournament, but still encouraging.
  5. You would hope, I doubt it though. We are not creating enough, and we have no composure.
  6. To be honest I don’t engage with them. No amount of talking is going to change their mind.
  7. I don’t get this Saudi clubs in UEFA competitions talk. It seems as though all the talk about it, is coming from pundits who fear we won’t be the biggest league soon, and lapped up by fans who think the same and fall for it. It’s pure Rio Ferdinand talk. Nothing coming out of Saudi or anywhere official is pushing the idea either.
  8. It’s already being flung at us. The Sela deal when other clubs got a hold of it got loads of criticism, despite it still being below what the top 6 clubs get. Go online now and all you see is our name mentioned along with Chelsea, and Man City as breaking FFP rules, even looking at our spending and saying we have spent our way to the top. Wait until other fans get a hold of our Adidas deal, especially if it’s worth the £40m it’s rumoured to be.
  9. Aye, Arsenal do a long sleeved version, but it’s £5 more. Not sure if it’s online only or not either. Personally it’s not for me, I think they look a bit naff, especially if they have the 3 stripes continuing all the way down, but I understand loads of people want one.
  10. Doesn’t like, just because you saw it in slow-no, doesn’t give it full context.
  11. FFP being implemented after their takeover doesn’t equate to them being complicit though. On top of that weren’t they mentioned as reluctant to join the ESL, and some sources even saying they had never actually agreed to it? It’s massively irrelevant in anyway, as we know it was driven by Real Madrid, Juventus, and Man Utd, Liverpool, and Spurs, with the rest largely joining in the fear of missing out.
  12. I think we were the better team until the goal, since then Spain have just been happy having possession and let England chase them. I fear now that Spain are 1-0 up, they won’t leave any gaps at the back on a counter attack, although we had a good forward attack later on when she strayed offside. We have no composure on the final ball though, be it the shot or the pass.
  13. Honestly don’t get hate for Man City as much as other people. I grew up hating Man Utd and other teams like Liverpool because they were obviously bent with the referees and had decades of buying everyone so no one else could compete. As much as we know the top 6 is established now, it’s only has been for about 15 years. If you are old enough to know the pre-Ashley years, then you are old enough to know that Man City were just another club that had no hope of competing. They had hard times in what is now League 1. They had Man Utd on their doorstep, the most successful club at the time, and down the road they had Liverpool, at the time the most successful club in England. Anyone supporting them could have had an argument for supporting either of the other clubs instead. Yet they had to go to school and work with the other kids who were running it in, day in day out. They got pretty good crowds as well. You can’t help but feel for those fans, it’s well deserved. Yeah ok the new fans are just another in the line of glory hunters in a different colour, but the fans from before that, let them have their success. Honestly, I couldn’t give a flying fuck if they broke 115 FFP rules. Every single one of them is designed to stop clubs from Man City completing, made by the clubs who were the ones who grabbed the money by creating the Premier League, and in recent years tried to go further with operation big picture, and the ESL. On top of this, it’s not like most Man City fans want to pull the ladder up either. When news of our takeover first broke during lockdown, it was Man City fans who were wishing for it to happen, wishing our fans luck, telling us to watch out for certain journalists trying to paint us the bad guys for supporting our club, and even invited Greg on from NUST to one of their podcasters to have a discussion about it all. Aye I want us to be beating them to titles and trophies, but I’ve not begrudged them a single one they have gained so far.
  14. Every commercial deal over £1m has to be approved by the Premier League, regardless of it being being owner related or not, that’s how Chelsea’s shirt sponsorship was rejected.
  15. Aye, should be saying ‘Fank you, and good night’.
  16. Hearing Rio is fucking annoying. He just sounds stupid, then what he does say is fucking stupid. Honestly man, no idea why he’s got a job as a pundit, surely there is a better ex Man Utd player who can arse lick who’s less of a fucking idiot, and less annoying.
  17. You touch on a good point there. Our season may not be defined by this game, but I think City’s maybe. They have beaten us in a difficult game, but their rivals may not be able too.
  18. They just have a bit too much and they have upped their game against use then the two games we had last season. They clearly saw us as a threat. A great goal was the difference. We were not our best, but we gave them a game. They won’t have many games as hard this season, certainly not in the league in anyway.
  19. City fans whistling because they don’t have the ball as if they are wanting the referee to blow for full time.
  20. We are either going to lose this 2-0, or draw 1-1.
  21. Then say that. It clearly looked like you were trying to catch a few people who will be watching via a stream.
  22. They have to be in some games. It will be games like us and Liverpool in the past where they have to be like this, and get that win. It’s those wins that will win you the league. It’s why Arsenal never won the league last season. They are great going at teams and ripping teams they should rip apart, but when a team with a bit of ability came along, or something to fight for, like Forest towards the end of the season, they struggled.
