Aye Curtis Davies sounds a bit unrealistic like. Mind you he's not played since September due to injury I don't think and Collins and Dunne are above him in the pecking order now? Along with Cueller. Never gonna happen though.
-
Aye probably, when compared with lower Premiership teams defences (i.e. Burnley, Stoke City, Hull City etc). Individually they're all good enough to play at Premiership level, collectively they've proven excellent in the Championship. It's a case of wait and see I guess if we get promoted. I think back to, for instance Jean Alain Boumsong, the lad was a French international, he was sold to Juventus, he went on to play for Lyon but why on earth did he look SO poor for us? I do like the fact Colo and Enrique have excelled in this league though, also giving them another year in English football, they could be massive for us next year, again, IF we go up.

Jesus. Some of you have gotten about. Sadly there's no exotic stories about my whereabouts. I was born and raised in Hull, my Grandad was born and raised in Wallsend and took me along several times to see us play. This was 17 year ago, been a fan ever since.

Looks like opinion is split right down the middle here. I'll shove my 10p worth in then. I think Simpson would be a good signing, £500k, I would assume he won't be on top end wage and he's proved himself as a decent enough right back this season, the clean sheet record speaks for itself. If we do achieve promotion at least the lad has had some experience playing there. Granted, he didn't look Premiership class when on loan at Blackburn but how many of Stoke City or Burnley's players are or were 'Premiership class' when they achieved promotion? I think with the right manager and the right guidance he could become a good signing for us. Failing that, I'd be shocked if we couldn't get £1m+ for him re-sale anyway. As someone said above, it's low risk.

Sounds like a classic case of us arriving too late for a player. He's way past his best like. Maybe would have been worth a punt 3 or 4 years ago.
-
Aye, not only is he a twat, he's a gash player an all

Aye I have seen Fagan around Hull a few times think his registration is f7agan or something like that also seen Ian Ashbee in TK Maxx before Aye that's right, that big black range rover I think it is. Ha! Ian Ashbee in TK Maxx, mind you I'd be surprised if he picks up more than £600 a week. He's a League Two player that's lucky enough to have had a long contract and no interest in him! Always used to see Damien Delaney round the town and for some reason Boaz Myhill is always gannin into Next. Saw Peter Halmosi in Primark, his birds not too bad looking. And saw Daniel Cousin outside Sainsburys in Hessle. Miserable bastard that he is.

1) BEST TOON DEFENDER FROM THE LAST DECADE Woody 2) BEST MIDFIELDER Nobby 3) BEST STRIKER Shearer 4) BEST OVERALL PLAYER Given 5) BEST MANAGER Sir Bobby 6) MOST DISAPPOINTING PLAYER Owen, Kluivert, Duff, Viana 7) WE SHOULD HAVE SIGNED... Michael Carrick 8) WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE LET GO... Scotty Parker 9) BEST HOME GAME The 4-3 win over Man United at SJP 10) BEST AWAY / NEUTRAL GAME Either the 3-1 at Arsenal or the 3-2 at Spurs or the 4-1 at the mackems 11) WORST GAME The 5-1 Birmingham game or the 4-1 Portsmouth shambles. 12) BEST GOAL SCORED Oba Martins at Spurs 13) WORST GOAL CONCEDED The one at Villa Park 15) BEST HAIRCUT :colo: 16) WORST HAIRCUT Step forward Andy Carroll, you're from Gateshead man, not flamin' Compton 17) BEST LOOKING PLAYER Probably Laurent Robert, especially in his underpants. 18) UGLIEST PLAYER Oh god, take your pick, Andy O'Brien, Lee Bowyer, Nicky Butt, James Milner, Nikos Dabizas... 19) DIRTIEST PLAYER It's gotta be Shearer. Although from another decade, Neil Lennon's head will testify that. 20) BEST STARTING XI OF THE DECADE Toughie. Given, Beye, Taylor, Woodgate, Bernard, Solano, Lee, Speed, Robert, Shearer, Bellamy 21) PREDICTIONS FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS - MORE /LESS / EQUALLY SUCCESSFUL It's Newcastle, more of the same I reckon. Although I'd really love to see us promoted this year, then slowly build in the Premiership, a-la Everton. Build a solid team around two or three key players and eventually over the next 5 or 6 years try to break into Europe again. Aye, I'm a dreamer. 22) IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING FROM THE LAST DECADE Sir Bobby's sacking or Mike Ashley.

You've gotta love the reception Guthrie got when he headed off the pitch though. 40,000 people saying "Yeah, I'd have done the same".
-
Well when he does retire he can rest assured that despite all the trophies and winners medals with Man United, he'll always be remembered for THAT overhead kick.
-
But back on topic and me living in Hull, I left work last week and saw Danny Guthrie's favourite piece of training equipment, Craig Fagan.
-
Agreed. And people who notice when the Sky or BBC camera is on them and start waving their arms or hiding behind their mates, clearly not paying attention to the match. Morons.
-
Surely this underlines the need (if we didn't already know) that we should have a dedicated Nando's thread?
-
Ah, goal.com. Probably best to take this with a pinch of salt. - "I'm off to Newcastle," he revealed exclusively to Goal.com UK, though refusing to comment further.
-
Aye, but still a bit of a wanky thing to say about one of our players like, especially one who can hardly carry the can for where we are now, if wshmag was gonna fire off insults however they were meant then surely he'd have done it elsewhere...the Alan Smith thread perhaps?
-
Back on topic I've gotta say I'd be delighted to see him at our club next season, he sounds like he has the right attitude and let's be honest, for the last few years that's something very few of our players have had.
-
Aye I like that new Ajax shirt. Fake/mock up or real, that Spurs one is horrendous.
-
I'm with the majority here on Simon Cox/Beckford. They could be excellent signings, I just hope we manage to get rid of a lot of the deadwood in our squad as I can't see us buying anybody until we shift a few bodies out.
-
I personally can say hand on heart that so long as Ashley goes I don't give a monkeys who comes in, whether that be Shepherd or anybody else. We're all longing for stability and a half decent start would be a permanent manager, and the chances of that happening while we're in limbo is slim. The last thing we need is to fall too far behind in pre-season preperations, but on the other hand we can't force teams to take the overpaid tosh off our hands. It's gonna be a tough couple of months.

Selling an 8-12 goal a season Premiership striker for £7m, and replacing him with a 20-25 goal a season Championship striker for less than half of that isn't the worst idea in the world tbh. How many 20-25 goal a season Championship strikers have even managed to get 12 goals a season in the Premiership? Chopra. oh, hang on... Darren Bent Andy Cole Andy Johnson Kevin Doyle
