  1. sean st ledger according to the mirror http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Newcastle-boss-Chris-Hughton-in-2-5million-move-for-Preston-defender-Sean-St-Ledger-in-January-transfer-window-after-losing-out-on-Sheffield-United-s-Matthew-Kilgallon-article280659.html
  2. reading the story its spurs who made the offer of 5m plus carew for keane so that explains that that doesn't sound right. spurs got in touch with villa to say give us 5mill and carew and you can have keane ? heres the article TOTTENHAM are ready to offer club captain Robbie Keane as bait to land Aston Villa striker John Carew. Spurs will approach Villa and make it clear they are prepared to let Keane join them as part of a deal to net Carew. Martin O’Neill will be told he can have Keane if he stumps up £5m plus Carew as Tottenham cut their losses on the Irish striker they signed for £12m from Liverpool a year ago. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has targeted the Villa star as one of the men he wants to aid a Champions League charge. They want to recoup as much of the £12m they paid Liverpool last year to bring back Keane. Spurs are also willing to use want-away David Bentley as part of a deal to sign Carew, 30. O’Neill is a big fan of Keane and was linked with a move for the 29-year-old last summer. The Republic of Ireland’s future has been thrown into doubt over the last two months. His first-team chances have been restricted due to the blossoming partnership between Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch. And Keane was close to losing the captaincy last month for his role in a players’ Christmas party in Dublin. Celtic and Sunderland have been linked with moves for the former Inter Milan star.

  4. its harry redknapp the world wouldnt be right without him wanting to buy and sell and the target this window seems to be ins and outs with strikers
  5. Piss poor deal for Villa that. yup very poor deal for villa (and i like keane as a player)
  6. That's a fucking ITK, Skirge. they've stopped guest going on there pity i was having fun laughing at the comments
  7. what i find odd is the timing of releasing the transfer request why let it out now and not on dec 30th, perhaps a suitable bids in and they've accepted it and are trying to divert the attention off bates and onto beckford for going or maybe im looking to deep into this
  8. the players could probably issue notice to the club by now. Its the support staff i feel sorry for they aint been paid either
  9. i liked the guy since he came here seems a really down to earth fellow no if only he might lose a little weight and he'd be unstoppable
  10. im not bothered myself, get zurab back on loan if we need another cb rather than spend money on someone who probably wont be good enough next season like leon court, I'm sure Zurab will be happy to return and then in the summer pick up killgallon on a free Zurab is shite. so is every other cb killgallon apart we've been linked too, at least zurab will be gone in the summer if we get him on loan again so we wont be stuck with him and he'd do for backup

  12. depends on the player's age i'd think, if for example wenger loaned us wilshire (i wish) then he'd expect him to play almost every week, but fat sam loaning us zurab is more an attempt to get rid of the player permanently and get his wage of the bill
  13. what it is with kilgallon is this, he can get a better deal for himself at the end of the season, if sheffield united get promoted he can sign a nice new premier league contract with a healthy signing on fee and mouth i was always comitted to the club blah blah blah if they dont hes out of contract and can negotiate a sizeable wage for himself with a premier league club with sizeable wage and signing on fee due to him being a free transfer
  14. many will say it means we'll sell taylor for 4mill. Not that I want it to happen, but I think we'd cash in Colo before Taylor. nah, Taylor's English (and young) so we can get more for him. colos on double taylors wage so more savings there and colos an argentian international so he'd get as much as taylor, thing is though i cant see any club who would buy them (mid to lower rank prem teams at least cant comment on non english teams finances) actually being able to afford them in this window we'd be looking for at least 6m if not more for taylor and who can afford that in the bottom half?
  15. yup had the glazers never taken over man u would be in a far stronger position both financially (they would easily have been the best placed club to easily survive the credit crunch which is starting to hit teams as seen with pompeys woes crystal palace watford liverpool and west ham) and player wise as they'd have been free to spend the ronaldo money on someone like ribery villa etc. And to pay for those debts its the average fan who has to cough up extra each year for tickets.
  16. and in contrast to man u's financial mayham the city owner has written off loans of 305m.....................
  17. according to the sun we've got kilgallon http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2796085/Magpies-land-Blades-Matt.html
  18. yes, getting burnley to the top flight is an amazing achievment but thats the limit of what it can do either this season or next they will go down due to their overall budget being small by championship standards never mind premier league standards. Bolton as detestable as they've been in the past are perfectly capable of getting mid-table security something burnley is not and coyle will make more money there for himself. Also boltons facility's are far superior (stadium and training ground)
  19. it will happen someday the top clubs will be looking for more ways to make cash and i think they've pushed the cl cash cow as far as it will go so the logical next step is euro super league.
  20. all id ask is who the hell authorised 80k a week for utaka (which is what some media are saying hes on)
  21. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2010/01/05/newcastle-scupper-geremi-s-turkey-switch-72703-25528414/ says here that the turkish lot basically jumped the gun and no financial deal had been agreed for his transfer
  22. naturally the bullshit directory in the phonebook
  23. according to louise taylor in the guardian we have a bid sumbitted for kilgallon and beckford could cost 3m http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jan/04/jermaine-beckford-leeds-united-newcastle
