  1. idle curiosity but whats the average attendance of whatever team is going to inherit that stadium?
  2. agree, farical that countries volunteer for the FIFA demands of changing laws ensuring they don't get hit by any tax at all while funneling the massive profits from this out of the country, if there was any kind of collective spine among the countries they could put a stop to this but all the FA's are in on the corruption too.
  3. they're going to find some better players? Nah, more bribe money. May get one or two opponents sent off to create a spectacle. ugh the prospect of Neymar diving for the next 4 weeks is not appealing.
  4. When you think of it as a choice between him and Jo, it becomes a bit more clear. Could have been Diego Costa if they'd bothered to select him.. Scolari's handling of that was ridiculously shocking, all he had to do was just pick him for the confederations cup.
  5. farcical reffing, Brazil are ridiculously average, first decent team they play will knock them out. Croatia have the basics of a good team let down by a fairly awful keeper.
  6. Argentina or germany beating brazil in the final will be perfect. Uruguay doing it to them again would be delicious
  7. Not to me it isn't, as great as he is they have no real need for him with the likes of Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil and Cazorla etc etc. They need a RB, winger, striker and DM before they even consider someone like Fabregas. Having good players > Rivals having good players If they had an unlimited budget sure, but seeing as they don't it makes much more sense to buy players they actually need instead of trying to fit Fabregas into a fantasy line up. pretty much this, arsenal have plenty of players who can play very well in the same position fabregas does, not so much in the striker department
  8. Amanda Davies ‏@AmandaJDavies 13m Sepp Blatter can stand for ever. #FIFA congress votes against bringing in terms limits and age limits..
  9. That a bit harsh on Haidara tbh, he's close if not at Santon's level imo. Santon is miles better than both Haidara and Dummett. We'd be crazy to get rid. Santon is shite and has been for at least 18 months, atm he is probably the best we have but not by much and Haidara has a lot more scope for improvement.
  10. thin air probably, though I can easily believe the trying to sell him for £5m thing, which come on would have been hilarious
  11. apparently everton want him on loan
  12. usually clubs at least pretend to thank guys who leave
  13. And I thought our statements were bad
  14. well 2 signings before the world cup can't be considered bad
  15. wouldn't mind Davies but since that story mentioned a swap deal its obviously bullshit.
  16. Mata is better than Fabregas imo and he couldn't cut the mustard under Jose. Fabregas simply isn't a Mourinho style of player - a terrible signing if it goes ahead. Fabregas is a lot more responsible when his side doesn't have the ball than Mata. Big difference between the two, not sure how anyone could label it terrible what I'd wonder about is if this will end up with Hazard being thrown out the door, Mourinhio wasn't exactly complimentary of him towards the end of the season.
  17. what boggles the mind about it is its so fucking obvious it was corrupt from the moment of that announcement, whatever about Russia, there's a decent case for them to host the world cup but Qatar? They're own technical assessment said it was a bad idea yet all these FIFA men decide to ignore that and the excellent alternatives in USA, Japan and Australia who all would be more than capable of hosting it without major issues.
  18. the single obvious change needed is term limits, any position in fifa can only be held for one term no returning to it when finished. Ensures a constant flow of new ideas (in theory) and they don't have the time to build the nice corrupt little fiefdom for themselves to cash in on. Christ in the last 50 years (plus) there have been 3 FIFA presidents, is it any fucking wonder its so bloody corrupt and behind the times.
  19. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/9339303/transfer-news-newcastle-united-have-refuted-claims-that-they-have-made-a-bid-for-ross-mccormack
  20. Graeme Bailey ‏@GraemeBailey 3m Massimo Cellino claims he turned down bid from Newcastle for Ross McCormack - not what we are hearing from Newcastle end. Enquiry at best. fits in
  21. did seem a bit overboard for a friendly this close to the world cup to me.
  22. with the Ireland squad.
  23. Fellaini... did he actually put in one? Must have completely blanked that one out
  24. inevitable really, no way he was going to be anywhere near ready for a world cup after a cruciate injury less than 6 months ago
