  1. also read they want up to 10m for him
  2. your looking for logic or consistency from him of all people?
  3. our best chance imo in the game is to get hold of the midfield and try and protect the back 4 which Arsenal could rip apart and if we went 4-4-2 I'd fear our midfield might lose a grip on the game and they'd pass us to death. Fuck it, go for it, worked in the 2nd half last season. I get where you're coming from though but IMO their centre backs are their worst position and we need to put as much pressure on that as possible. We could do with being pretty direct tomorrow despite all Pardews blather about being a controlled passing team.* * Don't think we're anywhere near good enough to do this anyway. it is their weakest position but imho the best way to get at them is to get control of the match in the centre of the park, that 2nd half comeback was brought about partly because of Arsenal going down to 10 men, not sure it would have happened if it was 11 v 11

    Erik Pieters

theres not exactly a whole pile of decent English right backs playing week in week out so anyone who's half decent gets talk of a call up

    Sunderland...

more or less my opinion too, think he would have been better off with another season in the Championship
  7. not Cahills biggest fan anyway, overhyped imho, decent but not as outstanding as some claim if Bolton got an offer like that (and I doubt its true) then good deal for them
  8. last year of contract isn't he?

    Sunderland...

Our "squad" is a lot stronger than yours in all honesty. Seriously people like Simpson, Taylor(all of them), Lovenkrands, Ranger, Best, Obertan etc wouldn't get near our squad. If you have all players fit you have a decent first XI but honestly, you don't have a good "squad" at all. I'd say Best at least has shown he's more lethal than Fraizer Campbell. Frazier Campbell is injured and will not be in the matchday squad for a long time. Leon Best would never get in our squad ahead of Gyan, Sessegnon or Wickham. I could tolerate the first 2 (even if i disagree on Sessegnon and your general build up of him) but Wickham?
  10. know sweet fuck all about him could just be a simple made up story as in we need a left back, we've bought only french players and english clubs previously linked to him= we've bid for him but they were bang on about Obertan so they could be right

That's the way it is unfortunately. Like when we won the Championship, miraculously managed to sell out on the final game on the season. not applying it to england as such with tickets being more expensive over there etc etc, just bugs me that there are people who would call themselves football fans here but don't ever go to a LOI game or would switch the channel if one came on tv

right need to get this off my chest, the following has done my head in lately no 1: only going to big games, this is a league of ireland exclusive, last week Cork (my local side) played Shelbourne in the biggest game of the season league wise so far and about 3000 attended, good turn out for the league in general and a good time was had by all as we won 4-1, the following monday another home game, semi final of the league cup over here against Limerick and considering that the club was only reformed last year (after a farcical last year for the old Cork before it died including the club captain having to go on local radio to get some cash from people to pay the overdue bill to the bus company or they wouldn't be able to get to the game that night) its a great achievement, the attendance had dropped by 1000 to about 2000, now where in gods name were the extra 1000 people who had showed up for the previous game? its only a tenner in the door so hardly bank breaking. I know the standard of the league isn't great but there are plenty of people who are football fans but wouldn't dare darken the door of a league of ireland ground. no2 control freak refs, really bugs me when refs get fussy about quick free kicks (in utterly non threatening positions) calling it back to be retaken or don't play advantage when theres a clear advantage
  13. Odd, Comolli (or however you spell it) said Enrique was their last signing they do need a cb mind
  14. theres logic behind my madness (or at least what passes for logic with me) originally had O'Shea but with him injured replaced him and tbh last season at least Sunderlands defence was mostly good so went for Bramble since he's cheap. Westwood I actually just rate and since he was cheap decent back up keeper and Howards not playing so in he goes. Also wouldn't object to some of my usual luck (ie total garbage) affecting them
  15. dream scenario for Redknapp tbh
  16. tbh I could see Llorente or Forlan maybe going to Spurs if they stumped up the wages and fee but can't see Levy putting up that kind of cash (wage wise anyway)
  17. Did you miss the part where they acquired Adebayor? They actually got him? the ITK council has spoken
  18. isn't the hotel thing a team bonding exercise type thing too, seem to recall reading something about it

  24. Ryan Taylor at left back is the stuff of nightmares better than the thought of Perch there....... There's not much in it tbh Jeez, wish we had you guys up first. Lennon vs Ryan Taylor would be a sight to behold. I'd rather not think about the thought of that
  25. WBA reject a bid from Wigan for Odemwingie not sure why they'd think he'd go there anyway
