He might offer more going forward in a 4-3-3, but his defensive cover in the wings (especially early doors when we had either a make-shift left back or a rookie Santon) was invaluable at times last season. I don't think there's any need to say he's definitely better here than there, one of his main strengths is his versatilely, horses for courses and all that.

The only major signing from abroad in there is Carew and that only came about due to a swap deal instigated by the other party.

Chelsea do look like they're taking it a little more seriously than City though. I'll class it as a small personal victory going into the new season if they win, if they lose I'll have saved myself money by sticking to that rule, so again a victory for me; win/win all round.
