  1. Barton Nolan Tiote Jonas Ireland Carroll Until Hatem's back when he'd slot in, in place of Jonas.
  2. I think Barton rekindling his form this season is example enough of why he's worth a punt, especially on loan!
  3. Your avatar is fantastic. Just seen that. Risk of sending this thread off topic but yeah, that avatar is f***ing immense I don't get it, and I used to watch that series. Jay-Z? 99 Problems? Ah, I'm not much into hip hop. Nah neither am I, Jay-Z got massive exposure over here a couple years ago though when he headlined Glasto and that was everywhere at the time.

    Sunderland...

A week's a long time in this years table, nevermind a couple months. Remember this is nearly the same team that managed a winless run that lasted all winter last season. I'd say they're favourites atm but it's far from a forgone conclusion. I'd expect it to be very very close come May, the top 10-6 being separated by a couple of points or so.

    Sunderland...

Dependent on cups. If the League Cup is won by a top 6 team, and the FAC Final is contested between 2 top 6 teams then 7th will get a European spot.

    Sunderland...

The amount of them I seen giving it 1-1 with their fingers on the way out.

    Leon Best

Eh, what happened to the Best thread I've ever been in?
  9. I saw an article with the same players mentioned in one of yesterdays papers to be fair, I think Tomasson has one of the highest cost per goal figures in PL history. Didn't get to read the article properly though, just glanced at it as someone else was reading but that was the gist of it. I doubt he's even close to the top of that list. That's what it looked like the article was implying. Ryan Babel, Kezman and Tommasson (amongst others who I can't remember) were all pictured with some figure next to them.
  10. Mike definitely seems fond of those craps tables like.

I'd be willing to bet he didn't even attempt to play. Just sat there deadly still while the other 3 were playing.

Chiek will be down to 7 men by now with his console floating in the Tyne.
  13. Again would take us succeeding over them failing every day. I'd prefer them not to qualify just on the basis that the fact they've never been really winds them up I think (and mackem in Milan would be made redundant) but, other than that not arsed.

The quality of your posts has gone right down hill - there's no getting away from that. Go back to your original posting style and you'll not need to play the victim mate. Since when this posting on here get critiqued and scored by a panel of judges? That post was so arrogant. You've dropped 5 places in the post quality list. 5? 7 minimum. Duly docked. "Since when this posting..." I meant "when did", probably wasn't the best post to cock up in.

  17. John O'Shea is 80 as a full back.
  18. I said the other day what a shame it was Bassong left to warm the bench at Spurs. Him and Colo would've been a very good CB partnership. Add in Jose and that's 3 very good players in the back 4.
  19. If West Ham stay up I can see him ending up there. Why has this provoked so much discussion anyway? He's not even been linked to us and there's next to no chance the club would actually be interested.
  20. The way I see it is that Carrick wouldn't make our starting line up. Tiote > Carrick, and we need a much more attack minded midfielder to partner him. Therefore there's no reason to sign him, pay big wages and let him stagnate and decline further while sat on our bench.
  21. How? It's the entire basis of his post. Because it's a stupid thing to say. We stick in a bid for Ronaldo, "Hang on lads, do you remember the last player we bought from Real Madrid". They may be midfielders, and they may be on the decline, but Carrick is better than both Smith and Butt, so the fact we got both of them when they were on the decline is a pointless thing to say. Carrick is on the decline, just as Butt and Smith were when we bought them. Ronaldo is a whole different kettle of fish to Michael Owen, not even worth discussing that. But them being on the decline says nothing about their ability. They are three completely different players and at different ages/stages of their career. I'd rather take each case seperately then say "Let's not get Carrick because the last midfielder we got from Man U that was on the decline, turned out to be s***" - surely it's a crazy predecent to have? I was barely stating it as precedent, just making a light hearted passing comment. No need to take everything at face value.
