    The old days

I could imagine the years between 1977-82 being pretty fucking grim tbh. The last good moment before KK joined I imagine was the 76 cup final. Then SuperMC left, Lee and then Dinnis broke up the team and we seemed to languish in the doldrums. I was watching the full highlights to the 1976 league cup final the other day. What an atmosphere, from both sets of fans. I just don’t think you’d ever get a noise like that these days in Wembley - not sure why though. Perhaps the shape of the stadium now and all seater stadiums? Here’s the war cry

Draw the Man Utd game at home and I think we’d have sneaked it. Losing that probably turned the momentum and we lost our heads.
  3. Looked a good day. Enjoy the beers!

You’ve already posted on this thread about 5 times man Clearly worthy of a thread
  6. Correct decision. I’ve seen so many lads be built up only to be knocked down when they’re 18. They stop studying at school, Chuck all their eggs in the football basket and if it doesn’t pay off. They’re fucked.
  7. No idea unfortunately. I’m not getting much info now.
  8. Charnley isn’t doing the interviews fwiw.
  9. Can confirm he’s not in contention
  10. Unconventional? I thought it was a common expression. Some “big names” have also been discussed I am told. I have nothing more than that I am afraid.
  11. They’re literally still interviewing man
  12. I can confirm some left field names are being discussed… I don’t know anymore than that before people start asking me more about it. Because I don’t know
  13. A Man Utd fan genuinely wanted him in on 5Live. Sutton and Savage saying “not after the way he started the season for Newcastle”. you couldn’t make it up!
  14. What is it? Can’t hear it on the radio
  15. This is it for me. Absolutely mental mind, that for the first time since 2004? We’ve probably been a tasty proposition to agents and managers alike. edit: And we still ended up with Souness and chasing after Bruce ffs

    St James' Park

Genuinely surprised we're having to have the same argument 10 years on. I'll genuinely be gutted if they changed the name. Coat it however you want, it's no different to Ashley doing it.

I’m sorry like. You can’t be happy with PIF changing the stadium name because they’ll throw a bit of money at it. Can we not remember the outpouring of dismay when the name was changed to the Sports Direct Arena? The hypocrisy stinks. Even if Ashley paid £20m a year for the naming rights people still would have been aghast.

You could argue Carver and Kinnear (Interim) don't count and KK was in his second spell and things were beginning to turn around. Plus those 3 managers only had around 20 games. Bruce had nearly 100 games! 100! Does he go down as the worst manager of all time? Or would you still say McCLaren? I found it interesting to see that Ardilles comfortably has the worst win% of a full time manager at NUFC.
  20. Nigel De Jong talking about this on SSN. Why?
  21. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS
  22. Cried my eyes out in the Gallowgate with Big River belting out. Amazing work lads.
