  1. One of my friends is an awful gloryhunting ManU fan (he's Basque FFS). This season's been great talking football with him
  2. You should rather be pissed off at the two Real Madrid players that chose to turn Iniesta into a sandwich due to their awful positioning.
  3. You know you can disregard the away at Barcelona game if we are out of the race by then, right?
  4. Missed this fantastic article by Sid Lowe on Rayo Vallecano: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/mar/17/rayo-vallecano-all-or-nothing-approach-sid-lowe Jémez Makes me happy to see that in this day an age a s***-poor team still can be successful by playing cavalier football. Hope they can stay in the division again. Best of all is how the fans have stayed firmly behind him all these years despite the occasional drubbings and the relegation danger.
  5. Wonder if Sergio Ramos collects his red cards like other players collect hat trick balls.
  6. Don't think they'll annihilate Man U to be fair. They'll give them a gentle spanking a la same way they did to Arsenal. Arsenal are clearly a better team than Man U though, plus they'll miss van Persie badly. We'll see I guess. Think Bayern won't have any troubles, but don't expect them to win 7,8-0 in aggregate either. Yeah, no team is s**** enough to lose 7-0 in aggregate in the later rounds of the CL. Even against Bayern. Oh wai---
  7. Feel confident on beating AM. As inconsistent as we've been this season, we seem to turn up in Europe when needed. Real Madrid in getting the easiest QF draw shocker.
  8. Hey, annexing former territories is trendy nowadays.
  9. An Andalusian derby in Europe is such a rare sight, pity both teams are actually on a low point. Still, it should be fierce.
  10. Bayern must be the only club in the world whose board undermines their managers while being rampant favorites to win everything. FC Hollywood indeed.
  11. Yesterday was great. Fun exciting game only marred by a s*** referee. I was reminded that despite our current anemic disposition, we still can pull off a good game in an European night against strong opposition. Messi was good again, our only chance at silverware this season is getting him back to his old form, so hope this is a trend. Fun banter with drunk Mancunians, too.
  12. Always been a good player, his main problem being that he's the kind of player that always looks good on and off the ball yet somehow he isn't as impactful as he should be. He seems red hot this season, though, good to see he'll make some good money in the tail end of his career.
  13. It's been a few weeks where our players don't look like giving much of a shit.
  14. Iniesta left the Barça squad after her wife suffered a miscarriage
  15. Xavi is nowhere near the player he used to be. As a watcher of Barcelona every week I can tell you that they look better both on and off the ball without Xavi. He was very good against City, but selling Thiago is the biggest mistake any club has made in a long long time. He'd walk straight into that position at the moment. We didn't want to sell Thiago. Release clause triggered by lack of appearances (it was something quite daft, like 60% of official games). Oh, and our DOF didn't inform our manager of it. GENIUS.
  16. Sigh, I really can't complain about the result at the end, and there's been some good play. But way too many players look like don't give a shit, at least in games like this.

  18. Not saying anything, don't want to jinx this.
  19. Not sure if you can see these threads, but here's us talking about him: http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/index.php?threads/the-next-modric.84488/ http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/index.php?threads/alen-halilovi%C4%87.98820/ http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/index.php?threads/alen-halilovic-part-ii.104882/ If you look at the dates, you can see that we've been talking for two years. At one point it looked like we might have a deal sewn up, but rumour is that his Dad was playing hardball and asking for loads of stuff for the family (accommodation in England, money, schooling etc etc). There was a thinking that he might use us as a stepping stone () but maybe the family have decided to cut out the middle man. Thanks for these links, had to register to a Spurs forum but I could read them At the very least he seems like he has some potential to him, it's been long since we've signed young players with potential instead of waiting until they are proven and expensive. It's something I'd like to see us doing more often.
  20. Ok, I don't usually give much credence to these transfer rumours, but this one has been picked up by several Spanish media so might have some traction to it.
  21. We are apparently in advanced talks to sign 17-year old Halilovic. Never heard if him, is he any good?
  22. Winning the CL trumps all for me. And I think most Barcelona and Real Madrid fans would say the same. It's the biggest prize.
