  1. Man, you're facing Uzbekistan next. You'll be in the final and with a good chance of winning it.
  2. You need permission to *bid* for players nowadays?
  3. Depor have 15 days to exit administration or be liquidated.
  4. We were a bit awful today, but nonetheless managed to turn the game around against Mexico. Still believe this team is far too reliant on individuals rather than teamwork to go all the way.
  5. Poor kid Definitely living the dream that one. He had some La Liga offers but obviously a premier league club will pay him more. I have never been to Stoke, but going off here it must be a horrible place. Meant he can now say he's played for STOKE and BARCELONA..... plus with someone of experience of both clubs we will finally know the answer that the human race has wanted to know since the beginning of time.... Who would win !? We will all find out if Barcelona can cut it on a cold Tuesday night at stoke . I'll also add im quite pleased with this signing and its very early days as well, not waiting till deadline day is a bonus Muniesa isn't great shakes to be honest. Given our predicaments at CB the fact he couldn't get a game here should be a hint. Sat in the bench in a CL final though.
  6. One day we need to arrange a friendly with Stoke. On a Tuesday.

  8. Fun stat, since Del Bosque took over, our penalty conversion rate is 16,6% in tournaments. 1 out of 6. Ratio grows to 10 out of 23 (56,5%) taking into account all games played.
  9. Never understood why Harry took the QPR job. Was always a lost cause and now he's stuck in the C'ship for one year, with the risk of his stock falling if he doesn't manage to bounce back.
  10. Well, they can easily use the money they pay to themselves to outbid anybody else.
  11. Read the other day that Benfica are showing their home games through their own TV channel, in exclusive. Seems they want to become a media outlet now...
  12. Do we still have Benfica fans around here? Benfica has just sold Nolito to Celta for €2,5m, with a Portuguese fund now holding 30% of the player's rights. Benfica seem to do this kind of deal every time.
  13. It almost beats our Chygrynsky deal. Almost
  14. "Now is not the time to call Yohan a Cab" Sports journalism and puns, what a disease man...

    Soccer.

Did it happen in FIVE years though?
  16. Soldado picked up a knock after Nigeria, he wasn't dropped per se. Granted that I'm not too sure he would've featured.
  17. That curled ball that César saved, Torres just can't dream of that.
  18. Aye, you can see that the quality is still all there, but since that horrific injury his fitness has taken a nasty dive. Still ahead of Torres for me, though.
  19. Again, if he was lenient towards Brazil, why didn't he give them another two red cards last night? He missed a lot the ref, there's nothing about being lenient, because he also gave a penalty which he could've easily not have given had he been lenient as it was more a a 60/40 challenge rather than 100% But yes I do find it weird that Dani, Oscar and I think it was Paulinho managed to end the game without a yellow card. No idea who he is. Anyway, I wouldn't expect foreign journalists to know we dropped the "Furia" moniker when this generation came about and we developed our current style, which isn't "furious" at all. "The Red Fury" was an absolutely stupid moniker for a team that always bottled it, anyway.
  20. Not anymore, but some people still do out of habit. Who's that tosser?
  21. I will say this, if Xavi gets 40 starts next season, we're winning owt. When fresh, he still can boss games (Milan at home comes to mind), but all the domestic and international ties (Euros last year, ConfeCup this one, WC next year...) are noticeably taking its toll.
  22. Xavi just can't play so many games every 3 days anymore. He hasn't even done it for Barça this season, where he's usually been rested for the midweek CL ties, so he was nowhere to be seen yesterday. People seem to forget that Brazil had a goal-line clearance and a missed penalty yesterday. For all our suckiness, the result could also have been tighter. I just wish VdB experimented with personnel a bit more. Martínez should have played far more given the season he's had. Heck, his understudy at Bayern tormented us yesterday.
