  1. He was excellent yet not in Baresi's class. As Deuce said, Italy have produced some outstanding defenders. I go back as far as Facchetti ,Scirea and the monster who had the most ironic name ever, Claudio Gentile. All class but Baresi for me is the best. Scirea man, he would get my vote. Although I admit I was a kid back then so my memories might not be the best. Such grace, though, the ball somehow always ended magically at his feet. And he had Gentile to do the dirty work.
  2. Ancelotti's Chelsea were just a neat and mean counter-attackin outfit, which fits Madrid's squad anyway.
  3. Ancelotti to be unveiled next week as RM's new manager, according to Onda Cero.
  4. I thought he was 6 He's always been #6. But he's an overrated bruiser that achieved legendary status by lingering around in the squad and kicking some shins in CRUUUUUNCHING tackles to the delight of home fans. Suppose it's like if Liverpool retired Carragher's shirt. Maaany better players to do that before getting to him. Anyway, it's probably just for the show, since La Liga restricts first team squad #s to 1-25, so if they want a squad of 25 players they'll need to give #6 to somebody.
  5. Valencia have retired #6 in homage to Albelda. Yeah, I'm puzzled too.
  6. Reports here in Spain taking for granted Everton are appointing Martínez. Neil will be happy.
  7. Why? The Spanish top goalscorer leaves La Liga to go to a relegation battler in the PL, instead of - say - leading the line at Atlético or Valencia.
  8. To be frank 17m would have never landed them Negredo given the season he's just had. And they probably tried to get him instead of Carroll. I know it's Allardyce we're talking about, but even him wouldn't pair two tall strikers together.
  9. That looks like an awful policy, if you ask me. Ajax do the same. Pretty damn sure that would be grounds for a workplace mobbing suit here in Spain. Demoting a worker to pressure him to sign a new contract with you? No way that can be legal.
  10. I feel so dirty right now Mou you cunt
  11. VI, imagine Shakira did the same and leak out the dressing room secrets to the public (well i know she won't, just imagine) What's your reaction then? You know, I just don't buy this. She made those comments back in January about the dressing room being unrested but all the juicy "leaks" she's been accused of have been published by media other than the one she works for. You know, if you gonna leak, at least get something out of it. Why the fuck am I defending the Real Madrid captain? f***ing hell the things Mou manages to achieve
  12. She's hot but thick as a brick. After the penalty shoot-out win against Portugal during the EC: She: Would you have liked to take one of the penalties? Iniesta: Yeah, in fact I did take one of them...
  13. To be fair to Iker, he's never said anything out of the line in public while the whole fracas went on.
  14. "He was just chosen to be made an example of" "Evra overreacted" "Opposition players know he has a short fuse so they provoke him" It's like they turned into RAWK. He's a magnificent player, but he's going to give Pepe a run for his money.
  15. Pretty blatant and borderline insulting Suárez clean-up campaign going over at Marca as of late, Real Madrid must be seriously considering buying him
  16. What has he done? Betting in matches he was involved in?
  17. Negredo to West Ham would've been humiliating for La Liga.
  18. Wonder how perilous Valencia's situation is now that they aren't in CL? Probably not pretty, but their ownership/stadium/debt situation seems to change every other week so I don't know anymore.
  19. Djukic unveiled as Valencia manager. Interesting. He's done a great job at Valladolid, but that's just one year of experience at the top level.
  20. That looks like an awful policy, if you ask me.
  21. Cruyff loves his own opinion everything Fix'd. Always have time for him, but you have to wade through all the self-serving and contrarian bullshit.
  22. Interesting, apparently Madrid settled out of court when Pedro León threatened to sue Mou for workplace mobbing. I suppose the Madrid media will release a lot of dirt on him the next days, now that he's left.
  23. Gotta say that the guy's come across pretty level-headed in the interview. I'm not too bothered about the price tag, actually, financially-wise, since the guy is obviously a goldmine and we'll make some of that back in commercial deals in Brazil. But I fear people will expect too much too soon.
  24. At the same time as Cissé's suitability for scoring as many as Ba.
  25. I'm not even watching this, and you are?
