f*** you! Who are Barcelona? Some tin pot club that has only just recently been able to get someone to sponsor your shirt, and your best forward is a midget. Mickey mouse team. http://discussions.ghanaweb.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13567&p=20114 Do you often find yourself browsing Ghanaweb, VI? No, I just remembered that NUFC was ahead of Barça in the Money League in the early 2000s, so I just googled it and that's the link that came up with the longest list

Maybe if they climb on each other.

No idea yet, depends on the ins and outs this summer. For now stuff points out to a Neymar-Messi-Sánchez front 3 going into next season.

I just could never get over those massive shoulder trimmings with the serialised Kappa logo. Plus the colors always seemed off. Add to it 90's football kit loose fitting and that's the reason I could never dig them. Still, whenever I reminisce about Stoichkov, he's wearing one of those crappy Kappa kits, so I have a weird soft spot for them.

Daily Mail says that Spurs have bid €12m for David Villa. How reliable is it?
-
Filled it up, with honest opinions while pointing out that I'm not a ticket holder. . . . Only that I proposed that you spent your 50m+ transfer kitty on Alexis Sánchez.
-
Wellbeck's conversion rate, I know his strengths lie elsewhere but still Craig Gardner too
-
To be frank, I think he's done enough to deserve a shot at a non-shit team. Who'd you rather have, Neil, of what's available to Everton?
-
That's his style though, it takes some merit to go for it like Wigan have done under him and manage to stay up.
-
He'll do like Wigan and fill your squad with Spanish third tier players not even I heard about.
-
Not you, though.
-
Wigan have the lowest budget in the league, even teams like Blackpool outspent them. It has some merit, and winning the FA cup is a pretty big achievement given the opposition he faced too. EDIT: Plus he's Catalan so I guess I'm a bit partial to him. Until Pep takes over Bayern he'll be the only Catalan manager to work abroad in a major league.
-
No, and I have never understood why. Might be because he's never managed here. The Spanish press go mental for Laudrup and Swansea, for example.
-
Apparently we are looking for a "Plan B" striker if we find one on the cheap. Abstain from sending Shola highlight reels to our DOF, please.
-
That's about the average shelf life of a good manager though. Thing is that in Spain if you spend 3 years without being sacked, that means you're good and you get poached by the next club in the food chain who've just sacked their manager. I think people like Juan Ignacio Martínez or Luís García have gone 10+ years without being sacked from their jobs.

The staff loves it but I hate it Martínez-Piqué is also a bad pairing, they are too similar. Tall, ball-playing defenders. I would love us to get Subotic, he's tailor-made to be Puyol's replacement. We are currently linked with Marquinhos, Hummels or Kompany (can't see this one happening).
-
Martínez is an amazing player, but it would have been a pointless purchase with Busquets in the squad, imho. We actually tried for him but Bayern outbid us.

Cannavaro set to be Ancelotti's AssMan at Real Madrid, according to Marca.

It's the subtle message to not get banned. Ask Mike, he's taught me that. Also it's quite pathetic that you're actually putting effort into your avatar description. Back to the topic. VI, are you guys pursuing any central defenders or do you expect to play Song/Mascherano there with Pique for another season. That thought is just We are looking to buy one CB. Just one though... How's the situation with Puyol? I don't think you'd need more than one CB, although it probably would have to be a world class one. Puyol/Abidal/Pique + new one add Javier and Song to that and you're settled there for another season or two at least. Abidal's getting released, Puyol's fitness is way too suspect nowadays (even though his performances are still top drawer when he's fit). I agree that a world class CB to go alongside Piqué should be enough with Mascherano, Puyol and Bartra in the mix... if we aren't unlucky with injuries. Bartra needs to be loaned out, fair enough I didn't watch much of Barcelona this season, basically caught only 5-6 games in the La Liga but he looks so inexperienced and not calm at all at times. How did he look over the course of the whole season? Bartra's situation is weird. He hasn't been given a look-in unless everybody remotely capable (or uncapable) of playing CB were injuried. Adriano as CB in front of him FFS He hasn't looked too bad, just inexperienced as you say. I thought the staff didn't give a fuck and he would be released, but they are now offering him an extension I think he'd be a capable fourth choice CB, certainly good enough to deal with lower midtable La Liga teams while he gains experience.
-
He'd have to double his weight man, not even you could expect that much from him. Although I can see him winning everything with Barcelona within a year or two (thanks to Messi) and then going back to being Brazil and losing himself in the mountains of cocaine. If we get a Ronaldinho kind of deal from him, where we win stuff and still earn back our transfer free when he starts not giving a fuck, I'll be happy.

We're liable not to be there but I'll laugh myself a new hoop if this happens again. http://cdn.worldcupblog.org/www.worldcupblog.org/files/2009/12/soc_a_ghiggia01_576.jpg http://worldcupdistro.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/3.wc-1998-champ.jpg http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/937/398/1293593_display_image.jpg?1305405665
