  1. The staff loves it but I hate it Martínez-Piqué is also a bad pairing, they are too similar. Tall, ball-playing defenders. I would love us to get Subotic, he's tailor-made to be Puyol's replacement. We are currently linked with Marquinhos, Hummels or Kompany (can't see this one happening).
  2. Martínez is an amazing player, but it would have been a pointless purchase with Busquets in the squad, imho. We actually tried for him but Bayern outbid us.
  3. Cannavaro set to be Ancelotti's AssMan at Real Madrid, according to Marca.
  4. It's the subtle message to not get banned. Ask Mike, he's taught me that. Also it's quite pathetic that you're actually putting effort into your avatar description. Back to the topic. VI, are you guys pursuing any central defenders or do you expect to play Song/Mascherano there with Pique for another season. That thought is just We are looking to buy one CB. Just one though... How's the situation with Puyol? I don't think you'd need more than one CB, although it probably would have to be a world class one. Puyol/Abidal/Pique + new one add Javier and Song to that and you're settled there for another season or two at least. Abidal's getting released, Puyol's fitness is way too suspect nowadays (even though his performances are still top drawer when he's fit). I agree that a world class CB to go alongside Piqué should be enough with Mascherano, Puyol and Bartra in the mix... if we aren't unlucky with injuries. Bartra needs to be loaned out, fair enough I didn't watch much of Barcelona this season, basically caught only 5-6 games in the La Liga but he looks so inexperienced and not calm at all at times. How did he look over the course of the whole season? Bartra's situation is weird. He hasn't been given a look-in unless everybody remotely capable (or uncapable) of playing CB were injuried. Adriano as CB in front of him FFS He hasn't looked too bad, just inexperienced as you say. I thought the staff didn't give a fuck and he would be released, but they are now offering him an extension I think he'd be a capable fourth choice CB, certainly good enough to deal with lower midtable La Liga teams while he gains experience.
  5. He'd have to double his weight man, not even you could expect that much from him. Although I can see him winning everything with Barcelona within a year or two (thanks to Messi) and then going back to being Brazil and losing himself in the mountains of cocaine. If we get a Ronaldinho kind of deal from him, where we win stuff and still earn back our transfer free when he starts not giving a fuck, I'll be happy.
  6. We're liable not to be there but I'll laugh myself a new hoop if this happens again. http://cdn.worldcupblog.org/www.worldcupblog.org/files/2009/12/soc_a_ghiggia01_576.jpg http://worldcupdistro.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/3.wc-1998-champ.jpg http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/937/398/1293593_display_image.jpg?1305405665

  9. Can't f***ing wait for the WC to come with felipao around here, by the way.
  10. Wouldn't he just be on the bench? Depends on who they bring in to replace Götze and Lewandowski. Now,I don't expect a 18 year old from Liga Adelante to start for them, but he could get more game time than he could do here (Dortmund's squad depth isn't too good), in a very competitive environment with a team that plays a very vibrant brand of football. Plus German discipline and all that. By that logic wouldn't it be better to loan him out to a German club that would play him more? With the looks of signing Bernard, Eriksen and De Bruyne it would seem like a terrible career move for him no? It would do him the world of good to go to a place where he isn't an immediate starter though. The problem with Barça B this season, for example, is that he's so much above everybody else in the squad and league, than he can easily indulge in the weaknesses of his game without feeling threatened. How about Porto? With Rodriguez leaving? If he's doing that well, as Porto you would definitely want to have a look at him. Problem is probably that a team like Porto would want a future buy possibility as it seems pointless to help develop a player and possibly get nothing in return. As you say, I don't think Porto would be interested unless there's €€€ to be had in the future (and fair play to them, the way they make business is astounding)

  12. Kappa man, the memories... my first Barça kit was a Kappa one from the early 90s http://www.blaugranas.com/media/galeria/25/8/2/0/8/n_f_c_barcelona_la_historia-768028.jpg Ugly as sin but...

  14. We'd probably need to teach Gandhi's great-grandson a few football tricks if we ever want symmetry with Suárez.
  15. Talk that we'll loan Deulofeu to Dortmund. Exactly the kind of club he needs, imho.
  16. I just love the kitschy overdone oldskool English club crests with helmets, feathers, pennants and shit: http://media.infobetting.com/calcio/logo/763.gif http://www.stevenagefc.com/cms_images/common/stevenage-badge-4x3160-228943.jpg http://www.altrinchamfc.co.uk/newcrest2.gif etc...
  17. Pity, Cañas is a pretty decent player and he's on a free. But he signed a precontract back in Jan for Swansea IIRC. Would have also meant that you're watching the Spanish market, which you should. Teams like Betis or Rayo have had great seasons and - as seen with Michu - have to sell their best performers to balance the books since both are fresh out of administration.
  18. You tried for José Cañas? Blatantly looking for a Coloccini replacement then, in all facets of the game: http://images.football365.com/12/10/800x600/Jose-Alberto-Canas-Real-Betis-2012_2847660.jpg
  19. Bale, Isco, Gündogan and Verrati identified as Real Madrid transfer targets by Florentino Pérez in an interview. Good to see he's taking charge of transfer policy again, business as usual resumed at Real Madrid.
  20. That defeat ushered our current dominance, with a bunch of hasbeens, cloggers and Raúl progressively axed from the squad as result from the ignominy.
  21. I was about to post Hereford-NUFC but I admit I didn't have the balls
  22. Madrid fans in a Spanish forum I post in already rushing to the "he isn't really racist" banner. I should direct them to RAWK to find the proper arguments.
  23. Liverpool turned down €40m for Luís Suárez from Real Madrid, according to "Onda Cero" radio.
