  1. I was just eating hazelnuts and one came up bad.
  2. The good thing about stuff like this is that it might end showing up top-level football as the rotten cocoon it has become (yeah, yeah Barça fan and all that) and something might be done about it. We'll see about FFP...
  3. Falcao for €45m to Monaco a done deal according to As/Marca. €14m per year in wages.
  4. Betis striker Rubén Castro arrested for allegedly beating his wife. Cunt.
  5. Is Monaco's scouting department an old poster of 2011 Porto's squad?
  6. Surely you can though? Just can't hit it off the post for yourself to score. I went with the header thing. Cruyff and Neeskens took that famous penalty where he passed it, so unless the rules have been amended since then both the passing and the off the post (which is passing) should be right.
  7. 6/12, better than I expected to be frank. Maybe I got right the ones that people claim are badly coded since I don't have a clue
  8. Not really. Ashley has pleasantly surprised us with acquisitions before (Cabaye, Sissoko, MYM). And considering the rumors of Benitez wanting to stay in England, it wasn't so far-fetched to think we might've been in the running. Certainly had a better chance of landing Benitez than Mourinho, Pellegrini, etc. Robin Van Persie is a more realistic signing than Cristiano Ronaldo too. Benítez was never going to take a job without European football, or a team that just had as dodgy a season as yours. Way too much risk for his standing within the game. Would have been different had he crashed and burned at Chelsea and needed to bounce back, but after putting them in the CL and winning a trophy there was no need to rush for a job.

Xavi and Puyol's contracts run out around that time (2016 and 2015). Get the feeling Xavi wants to be a one-club man, though. Puyol might give it a crack.
  10. f*** you! Who are Barcelona? Some tin pot club that has only just recently been able to get someone to sponsor your shirt, and your best forward is a midget. Mickey mouse team. http://discussions.ghanaweb.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13567&p=20114 Do you often find yourself browsing Ghanaweb, VI? No, I just remembered that NUFC was ahead of Barça in the Money League in the early 2000s, so I just googled it and that's the link that came up with the longest list
  11. Maybe if they climb on each other.

  13. No idea yet, depends on the ins and outs this summer. For now stuff points out to a Neymar-Messi-Sánchez front 3 going into next season.
  14. I just could never get over those massive shoulder trimmings with the serialised Kappa logo. Plus the colors always seemed off. Add to it 90's football kit loose fitting and that's the reason I could never dig them. Still, whenever I reminisce about Stoichkov, he's wearing one of those crappy Kappa kits, so I have a weird soft spot for them.
  15. Daily Mail says that Spurs have bid €12m for David Villa. How reliable is it?
  16. Filled it up, with honest opinions while pointing out that I'm not a ticket holder. . . . Only that I proposed that you spent your 50m+ transfer kitty on Alexis Sánchez.
  17. Wellbeck's conversion rate, I know his strengths lie elsewhere but still Craig Gardner too
  18. To be frank, I think he's done enough to deserve a shot at a non-shit team. Who'd you rather have, Neil, of what's available to Everton?
  19. That's his style though, it takes some merit to go for it like Wigan have done under him and manage to stay up.
  20. He'll do like Wigan and fill your squad with Spanish third tier players not even I heard about.
  21. Wigan have the lowest budget in the league, even teams like Blackpool outspent them. It has some merit, and winning the FA cup is a pretty big achievement given the opposition he faced too. EDIT: Plus he's Catalan so I guess I'm a bit partial to him. Until Pep takes over Bayern he'll be the only Catalan manager to work abroad in a major league.
  22. No, and I have never understood why. Might be because he's never managed here. The Spanish press go mental for Laudrup and Swansea, for example.
  23. Apparently we are looking for a "Plan B" striker if we find one on the cheap. Abstain from sending Shola highlight reels to our DOF, please.
  24. That's about the average shelf life of a good manager though. Thing is that in Spain if you spend 3 years without being sacked, that means you're good and you get poached by the next club in the food chain who've just sacked their manager. I think people like Juan Ignacio Martínez or Luís García have gone 10+ years without being sacked from their jobs.
