If you win against Slovenia by a decent margin you'll still win the group.
-
And he stole the #10 shirt and wore it during the match, it seems.

Name an alternative Mr tactics? Anyone. Literally any English person that is alive. And some that are dead. And yet Rooney's been thriving off Carricks balls all season. fnarr fnarr Heh? Carrick's been shit for ManU this season. Rooney has been fed mostly from the wings.

Awful display, but still in good shape to qualify since you can't possibly be so shit three games in a row.

first goal could make or break either side's world cup. think we need a bit more width though, when we go forward we never have multiple options to look towards so its very predictable. Algeria are playing at their 110%, they are limited but giving it all. Your boys aren't up for it apparently but I still expect the gigantic difference in ability to impose itself at any moment.

You'll still win this as soon as you pull your head out of your ass tbf.

Carrick warming up, that'll make it

Pantomime villain for other teams' fans.

I like the random stream of consciousness kind of thing this thread has going.

Man, I just love the pomp before a WC match.
-
I think you want an England win so Algeria is playing for nothing when they face the US. A point gives them chances to progress if they win against you.

Oh man, just saw that The Sun has linked Glen Johnson to Real Madrid. That would be so sweet.

Guarente from Atalanta to Sevilla for 5m. I don't know much about him. Is he any good?
-
Sevilla already announced they are stopping their signings because of this. Of course, they say that right after signing Guarente from Atalanta for 5m.

Get in!

Huh? Villarreal will gift-package him to any club that asks.

It's a play on the original "best goal I ever scored" thread title, I know it's grammatically shaky.

Showing the jabulani haters how it's done.

Since we goalies also deserve our shot at playground/Sunday league glory The opposition winger broke down our flank and I went to cover the short post. He reached the byline and crossed back to the edge of the box where one of their players pulled an awesome Essienesque volley that thundered towards the top corner of my far post. Somehow I flew all the way and put my hand on it, tipping it over the bar. Everyone just sat there silent until the opposition's captain came over and told me "This would have been one of the best goals I have ever seen but instead is one the greatest saves I have ever seen". Classy guy.

I was usually the tallest in the team (I'm quite tall for Spanish standards), and I couldn't head to save my life. Utterly clueless attacking the ball. As an outfield player I guess I was a Heskey in his early days. Second striker, quite pacy despite being a big f***er, same footballing ability. But I'd get the ball and just go on a run stampeding over the defence, usually skying the shot at the end since my composure was awful. I had quite the shot but I couldn't control it to save my life (or the ones of low-flying birds) But on any remotely serious match I was always the goalie. Prototypical Spanish goalie at that: great on one v ones, very good on reflex saves, awful on high crosses and prone to eat freekicks and mixing miracle saves with embarrassing clangers. Hence I am Víctor Valdés (but he's got better at crosses now).
