  1. Has Senna went well off the boil like? I seem to remember some mutterings that he'd been s*** last season, it's a hazy memory though. Legs gone.
  2. I'm watching this on the BBC and I'm really enjoying the pundits' incompetence.
  3. Touré to City for €30m is a done deal according to his agent. Don't want to see him go, but €20m of transfer profit in a player is soooooo unlike us.
  4. Honestly, it isn't like Spain is teeming with DM prospects.
  5. Man, I'm creaming with the prospect of Villa lining up for us.
  6. Casillas kicking, one of the reasons Reina or Valdés are better there.
  7. He isn't expected to last a full game in terms of match fitness, so he'll come out during the second half.
  8. Amusingly incompetent commentary, this FilmOn thingie is paying for itself
  9. Capdevila was the starter in the Euro 2008. Pernía in 2006.
  10. Xabi Alonso is a lot better suited for that role though. One of the things I like about Del Bosque, he is resisting the calls to play fantasy football and just try to soehorn all of our most talented players in the same lineup.
  11. "For five hundred years, the Spanish searched for the golden city of Eldorado". What?
  12. First time I hear Cesc talking in English actually, he has exactly the same accent as me
  13. Can't fucking wait for this. Bring it on.
  14. I agree I play with that ball every Sunday. Huge fan of the Questra ball myself. It was very popular in Spain for some reason in the 1990s.
  15. I'm 25 down. I'm a very modest better, only do it to give me something extra to look forward to in games. Given myself a limit of minus 100 in this WC.
  16. Yeah. MLS have been using it all season as welll apparently. If that's the case I'm surprised the Premier league didn't adopt the ball for the second half of the season. I'm sure Nike would have had something to say about that... Same in La Liga, Nike sponsors the ball. Pretty stupid when you think of it, a sponsor deal potentially harming the country's WC chances.
  17. Heskey's international career is one of the big mysteries of modern football. Really, if you want some lump to play target man I'd rather pick Cole or, heck, even Kevin Davies. At least those two manage to be an actual threat.
  18. It's a shame the tournament has been so terrible so far then. Aye, pity the tournament isn't being a good advert for the sport so far. Honestly, I have always thought that international football is overrated but now I really feel it's definitely falling under club football in terms of excitement and quality.
  19. I don't know I'm quite surprised at how people here in the US is taking to the World Cup at least. The place where I watched the USA-England game was PACKED and it wasn't a popular football watching spot like, say, Nevada Smiths is. I see people in the streets in USA shirts and even the odd vuvuzela (sigh). The media coverage is pretty good and people around me seem to be at least curious about how the teams do. So far so good.
  20. Come on? Really? s*** season? Maybe to his standards, but he's definetely had a better season than many at Real. Than Drenthe, maybe. Really, it's been pretty scandalous and most of my Real Madrid friends are up in arms since it looks he's pulling a Marcelino on them. The guy has only showed up for light training during most of the season with that mysterious groin injury, and practically stopped playing since they went out to Lyon until the very few games of La Liga.
  21. Current Eire squad + Jonny Evans? That 3-2 win at Windsor Park was very enjoyable. NI went on to have a great Euro 2008 campaign too
  22. Current Eire squad + Jonny Evans?
  23. Ok, cutting down on the stakes: Spain Chile South Africa dnb 5 return 21
  24. Imagine if we still had our SA colonies and never lost the Portuguese war of Independence in 1643. Julio César, Maicon, Lúcio, Mascherano, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Torres, Villa
