  1. Quite correct It's a move motivated by desperation. If they could get away with charging £500+ for a season ticket then that is what they would do. They proved with the Johnson saga that this image they paint of being a family, community minded club is pretty questionable when they kept quiet and allowed a nonce to continue to ply his trade in front of 1000s of kids. The reality is that the fanbase has desterted them, crowds have halved in less than 12 months, and despite them staring administration in the face they've been reduced to slashing season ticket prices and are even prepared to give huge a number away for free. Seems a strange strategy when gate receipts become ever more important as the TV money starts to disappear.
  2. RTG is full of similar back patting threads about them being the best fans in the country etc.
  3. Agree with that. It's just when they go on about being the best fans in the country because they were getting 40000 most weeks (up until the desertion this season) ignoring the fact that 9000 were on free tickets and many of the others were cheap kids season tickets. Most clubs competing in the Premier League could pull in similar or greater numbers with that ticketing policy. I don’t think they bleat on about being the best fans in the country, although they do bleat on about some imaginary notion that we bleat on about being the best and castigate it for us. Weird bunch. Not best in the country. Best in the world.

  5. Loved Robert like! One of my all time favourite NUFC players.
  6. Squad is a joke, manager is a joke. I look forward to seeing them flop again in the summer.
  7. I've still got this nagging doubt that they'll string together two unlikely wins from nowhere and Barnsleys total incompetence will end up saving them. Just about any other season they'd be about 10 points adrift and dead and buried.
  8. Norwich will win tonight mate (6/4).
  9. The perfect weekend of football really. Every result has gone our way.
  10. It'll be the same clowns who tried to tell us Vernon Anita was a good player.
  11. We look very solid at the back now with him coming in and forging a good partnership with Lascelles. Obviously the new keeper coming in has helped massively as well, as has Dummetts return but even Yedlin has looked far better defensively in recent weeks.
  12. Thought him and Diame were excellent in the middle. Totally dominated the midfield.
  13. Not sure what happened. The stewards were being a bit arsey yesterday for some reason and a lad got hoyed out just before they asked to have a word with Heza. They took him down to the front and everyone started booing but then they let him go back to his seat. Aside from that the kid next to me was sat wearing a disguise yesterday (fake glasses, moustache, hood pulled up and scarf across his face) cos he was one of those ripping the seats out at Sunderland on Wednesday and was worried about getting captured
  14. 7/2 isn't bad considering it's QPR tbf. That's what I thought as well. They were shorter odds to beat Aston Villa on Tuesday night!
  15. I've got £30 on them at 7/2 to win today. QPR are poor and with nowt to play for and the mackems are better playing away from that empty pink monstrosity. Obviously I'm hoping I lose my money but a free night out on the winnings should they win is at least a small consolation.
  16. Quite a few people on Twitter today looking for tickets mate (not sure if you're on it like).
  17. I see that loathesome creep, mag in peace is still rimming their backsides. Saying that we would be forced to also exactly the same and mothball parts of SJP if we were in their position. No way is he a Toon fan like

    Adam Armstrong

On the shortlist for League One player of the month.
  19. Villa bringing more to the SOL than last season up here sums them up. Just over 1600 tonight they reckon. Got no idea how many they brought last season up here or the circumstances. They brought 1800 up here last season. It was a Monday night Sky match.
  20. Shame the other teams at the bottom are almost as bad as they are. They should be well adrift by now.
  21. The commentator on Radio Newcastle reckons there's under 15k there.
