  1. Well it's what happened last time we played them up here. Might have been an injury time winner from a corner. I remember it being very late on anyway.
  2. You in the Strawberry Corner, mate? Can remove 'em if you prefer? Nah course not. Great photo's!
  3. Everton are awful. Sobering thought that they'll more than likely beat us in Wednesday.
  4. Assumed there are also 2 clocks in the centre of the East Stand side as well but being in the Strawberry Corner I can't see the advertisement hoardings down that side.
  5. I'd still take the chance and put him in. He's 21 in a couple of months time so it's hardly like he's a baby and I'm sure he'd relish the opportunity of getting a bit of a run in the 1st team. Looking at it from his perspective I'd be thinking that I can't get a game ahead of those 2 planks there's probably not much future for me at the club, especially considering it's surely a position Rafa will be strengthening next month.
  6. He's 20 now. Two years older than Krul was when he broke into our 1st team. He's gained great experince with England, representing them at 6 different levels, culminating with him winning the World Cup and also the Golden Glove award for being the best Keeper in the tournament. Our 2 senior goalkeepers are hopeless, Darlow has conceded 11 goals in 4 games this season. If he's not getting a chance now I don't see when he ever will.
  7. I'd just stick Woodman in goal until January. If he's even worse than Darlow we might as well just release him tbh.
  8. Need 4 PL quality players in January otherwise it's almost certain relegation. Quality wise out squad is miles behind even the likes of Burnley and Watford now. If it costs us £100m then it costs us £100m. Relegation will cost a lot more, not to mention the damage it will do to the club. A new goalkeeper and a No10 player are vital, and a left back and a centre forward are important.
  9. This! Play Shelvey and Hayden behind him with Gayle in front and we might be on to something.
  10. He looks dreadful at the minute mind. Hope he improves but right now he looks way out of his depth.

    Isaac Hayden

Rafa rotates between all of them. He started neither him or Shelvey last week. He should have started Shelvey ahead of him today.
  12. They were Leicester fans and at least 2 of them ended up on their backsides before they'd managed to walk down as far as the Strawberry.

Average in the Championship. Slightly below average in the Premier League. Doesn't do anything particularly well. Rafa prefers him to Shelvey.
  14. Apparently Sunderland were the front runners to take the award until the young local taking a dump in the stands knocked them down the pecking order.
  15. Some people (all of us apparently) spat at him when he was England manager and didn't call up Keegan. Or something along those lines. Weren't we all sunderland fans back then though, pre 1992? This is true. I remember sitting in the old Fulwell Stand with my dad and brother cheering on our red and white heroes. We were all massive lads fans. Then Keegan came along and we all went to support them instead.
  16. The fact that he has openly put out a statement saying the club is for sale, negotiations have been going on for weeks and the Sky "interview" was practically an advert saying "please come and take this club off of my hands", suggest that he does have intention of selling it. The risk of relegation coupled with the current squad that we have put the club miles away from his £380m valuation or whatever it is. He won't get a better deal for it than a bid in the range of £250m-£320m. He openly put out a statement in 2008 to say the club was up for sale as well, only it wasn't really. Plus his interview was a way of sticking 2 fingers up to Rafa and the fans. Can't fully recall the 2008 statement or whenever it was, but this must seem different to then. The Sky interview was that, but journalists and fans alike managed to encapsulate it as an advert for the club. The whole thing was staged, there is a reason why he chose to say 'if someone wants to take this seat and fund NUFC' et cetera in it. He wants out. It makes financial sense for him to do so, as well as just sense in general. http://www.nufc.com/html/2008-09html/ashley-statement.html

  18. I still don't believe he has any intention of selling the club unless he gets an obscene offer which, let's face it, he won't.
  19. 53 wins for us, 51 wins for them, 49 draws. Thats what I thought but Wiki (yeah, I know) and another site say differently. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyne%E2%80%93Wear_derby https://www.11v11.com/teams/sunderland/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Newcastle%20United/ I'd go with Nufc.com over the likes of Wiki any day of the week. They've archived every single NUFC match in the clubs history and pride themselves on being deadly accurate with statistics whereas anyone can just go in and edit Wikipedia.
  20. 53 wins for us, 51 wins for them, 49 draws.
  21. He should be done for indecent exposure for dropping his trousers and kegs in close proximity to the family enclosure the dirty beast.
  22. They're quite a bit better than we are so I'm expecting another defeat. Hopefully the extra drinking time has it's usual effect on the noise levels and, along with the various displays planned, the atmosphere inspires the players to find that bit extra. 0-2
  23. He should have played against Forest in the League Cup back in August. Darlow was absolutely hopeless that night and it didn't even look like he was trying. Would have been the perfect game to give Woodman a try.
  24. Greg will tell you off for spelling his name incorrectly mind.
