This isn't about us mate. They just seem to have a bigger problem with this sort of thing than other clubs do.
-
21k followers on X apparently. Sunderland season ticket holder. Sad fact is she speaks for so many of them.
-
You totally miss the point again. I was a member and thought they were a waste of time so didn't renew my membership. Nothing I've seen or heard from them since would persuade me to rejoin so regardless of who's paying I still don't wish to rejoin them. Hope you can grasp that and we can leave it there. If they were doing loads of good work they would be advised to share it with potential new members on social media. I assume that's one of the reasons they are on these platforms, and then people can make a more informed decision on whether or not they are worth signing up for.

Aye a far cry from the days when 1000s of us would stand in there shoulder to shoulder, surging forward when we had a dangerous attack or during the chorus of tbe Blaydon Races. Now you get a ban for standing still.
-
Thought you said you were leaving it there earlier Actions speak louder than words and their actions have been minimal to say the least but maybe if they communicated with more non members maybe that would encourage more people to join?

Nice lass.. SAFC season ticket holder. https://x.com/i/status/2032542750353105376

I got asked to sit down in the Gallowgate last season when I was stood up as we were about to take a penalty
-
If they communicated better on Social Media (like NUST do) maybe I would know what they do. As they don't, all those points I mentioned above remain valid. Cheers.

They wouldn't get another penny off me pal. The supporter experience is currently at an all time low with this ballot farce, all these 3rd Party websites flogging tickets at daft prices, members getting a rough deal, away fans being able to infiltrate home ends, unpalatable ticket price hikes season after season, a declining atmosphere, seemingly no breakthrough in increased safe standing areas, fans being banned for extremely petty reasons etc etc These are the things I'd expect a Supporters Trust to be going head to head with the club over but they just don't seem all that bothered.
-
When they were first formed (and advertised as more of a protest group aimed at Mike Ashley iirc) I paid for 1 year (think it was a quid or 2 can't remember) rather than getting a lifetime membership as I wanted to see what they'd do and what their intentions were. Needless to say I didn't renew after a year and nothing they've done (or not done) since has persuaded me otherwise.

Imagine having the brass neck to stand up in the Gallowgate for a Champions League match v Barcelona
-
You seem to have as much beef with NUSC as you do with the average member mate I'll be honest and admit I think NUST are a waste of time.
-
By that argument how much have NUST taken in subscriptions over the years, and what has been provided in return? Tbf all that I've listed there in the space of 1 months work is superb going by all involved.

Maybe just the vibe he gives off and how it looks but I just think he always looks half arsed. I'm not sure Woltemade knows how to play in this team either but I just don't get that with him. Woltemade seems desperate to succeed and I think his recent bad run has really devastated him. The amount of times I've seen our wingers putting balls into the box and Wissa is just ambling around outside the penalty area just really grates on me. Whether he knows his role or not he should know that in those situations he needs to be busting a gut to get onto the end of things. Think he's really testing Howes patience now as well.

Just reading on X there. In the last month NUSC have; - Took 11 coaches to Aston Villa and 3 coaches to Man City - Fanzone at Snobs - Advocated for members to get a loyalty point for Qarabag (a) - Arranged fanzone in Baku - Pushed the club to allocate initial Barcelona allocation - Arranged two cost price flights to Barcelona - Arranged fanzone for 10,000+ supporters in Barcelona - Arranged two watch along venues for supporters without tickets - Attended workshops on memberships and NUFC Women Some good work there tbf.

In the old football Pink when they used to give out 3 stars for MOTM, 2 stars for the next best player and 1 star for our 3rd best player I would certainly have given him the 1 star award behind Hall and Joelinton. Thought he was excellent and even more promising that he can put in that level of performance against a team like that.

Loving the optimism of those who say he'll be fine as I've seen zero evidence so far to agree with that. Pushing 30 and already looks like he can barely move. Appeared totally disinterested for a lot of his time on the pitch. Looks a bit overweight as well which is disgraceful for a Premier League footballer. At least with Woltemade he looked good when he first came and you can't knock his attitude and effort. Even Elanga has shown signs that there's a bit of a rough diamond that just needs polished up a bit as we seen on Tuesday night. Just seen nowt at all with this lad and it's slightly worrying at a time when he should be getting fitter and fitter now that he's getting less and less time on the pitch.

NUSC offer cost price travel to all away games and organise fanzones/fan events like they are next week in Barcelona. Usually put boats on for Fulham away as well. As they have no affiliation with the club that's about the limit of what they can do tbh.
-
Relative to the match, not really. You could pay a membership fee (£37) and then try your luck in a ballot where the chances of being able to get a (£70) ticket are minimal or just pay the £150 straight up and it's guaranteed. Anyway it's totally fucked up now. What many of us predicted would happen when they changed the way they sell tickets has happened, and sadly people like NUST who could have put up some resistance were found sleeping at their post. My next prediction is that loads of genuine members will chuck it in the summer.

Chelsea vs. Newcastle United: 14/3/26 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)

Play the U21s please Eddie. -
Think the issue a lot of people have is that NUFC are banning genuine fans (ST holders and members) for passing on their tickets to other NUFC fans yet are happy for away fans to infiltrate home sections with what I'm assuming are tickets from 3rd party sites. It's either that or they're getting them directly from NUFC.

Almost as if they're rewarding incompetence. Got to say I think the general standard of the refereeing in our CL games has been pretty good. Last night he was awful, PSG away awful, but other than that no complaints. In saying that a lot of my friends over in The Netherlands weren't happy with the refereeing in the NUFC v PSV game but I thought he was fine so that shows how people can see things differently. My issue with UEFA, and also the Premier League to a slightly lesser extent is that they've both made it abundantly clear that they want certain teams to be appearing in the latter stages of the competition in the CL, and up towards the top of the table in the PL. That instantly puts pressure on referees to favour these teams in the interests of their own careers and to make sure they are given the best appointments. The introduction of VAR has enabled them to borderline match fix games, as we seen in that PSG game a couple of seasons ago. Never a penalty in a million years, but the referee has been told to give it basically. PSG go through, we go out. From their POV it's worked a treat. The big worry from yesterday, and Gerry Armstrong picked it up on commentary on the channel I was watching it on, is that the referee appeared to be taking instructions through his headset and in some cases was making massively delayed decisions as he listened to what he was being told to do.

They have to be surely. The chances for your average member to score tickets yesterday was minimal so for so many away fans to be dotted around the ground you'd think they had to have sourced them from 3rd party websites unless loads of Barca fans signed up for memberships and were all very lucky in the ballot as well. Not too many complaints from me as long as they don't try to act themselves, and it appears they didn't. I was at Leverkusen and I reckon we had a good 4k in their end. I managed to get 4 extra tickets in their end myself (sorted a lad out from here with 2) so I'd be a bit of a hypocrite if I complained when the shoe was on the other foot. Edited to say last time we were in the CL we played 3 clubs with worldwide fanbases and lots of hangers on. Very few away fans managed to access the home end for those 3 games so it shows how much easier it is now for them to secure tickets in the home end compared to in the past. A sad indictment of our ticketing system when 1000s of home fans miss out.

Can't even recall him saying that but it doesn't surprise me. He was a proper Walter Mitty.
