The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Postecoglu told to rack off by Spurs
Wallsendmag replied to cp40's topic in Football
Slot is a good coach but he's been completely schooled by Peter Bosz at PSV this season. He's a bit of a hidden gem and from a PSV point of view I'm delighted he's flying below the radar but this season they've obliterated everyone and are on course to become the best Dutch team of all time (points wise). Not convinced Slot will have Liverpool challenging at the very top. More like a steady, more or less guaranteed top 4 club. -
Aye remember it well. We played Leicester away over Xmas/New Year probably early 00s. I remember our train back wasn't till late and Sunderland v Man Utd was the late KO so we watched that down there and it was a big top of the table clash. Man Utd won of course.

Not sure tbh.

Resale is decent if you only want 1 ticket. If you want 2 together I've found it impossible. Family section seems the best bet for ballot success but I don't like sitting up there and the only Cat 2 success I've had was v Man City in the League Cup. I've tried it this season (not since Xmas) and it's not really for me, hence I'm not bothering next year.

Callum Wilson: offered 'incentive-based' contract extension (Ornstein)

I was at PSV v Feyenoord last month nad he played partly as a striker and then when they switched things around a bit he played over on the right. He scored as well that day. -

Well it seemed to have the desired effect (and not for the first time it has to be said). Bruno scores a goal and his reaction to it said it all! I'm not saying it'll be the defining reason as to whether he stays or moves on but surely him, and his family, would be looking at that and thinking he's never going to get that kind of love and adulation at PSG or Real Madrid and I think for someone like Bruno something like that will carry a lot of weight. -

You've just described Minteh there. -
Haha what a story! I was in the old benches in the East Stand and a couple of my mates from school were stood directly opposite me in the B Paddock. The atmosphere was so quiet they could shout across the pitch at me and I could hear them

Not sure how many 0-0s we had at home that season but at the time as a 12/13 year old kid it used to feel like we drew 0-0 every week! Remember standing in some ridiculously low crowds back then. Remember a midweek game v Oxford towards the back end of the season (might have been game) and the crowd was 10,000.

The amount of goals that go straight through him is staggering.
-
He's been a free agent all season.
-
Go back a few pages. People trying to say he's good shot stopper. The amount of goals that go straight through him is ridiculous.
-
Nobody has bothered to take a punt De Gea. He's better than Dubravka as well.

That's pretty damming that mind. Not renewing mine and the bairns for next season. Haven't applied for a game since before Xmas but until then had a reasonable success rate. Excellent in the family enclosure but poor for Cat 2. Unfortunately I don't like Level 7 so not really keen on the family enclosure and really hate not being able to at least select a stand to be in, let alone a seat so for that reason I'm out. I think membership numbers will drop off next season. It's awful value and a poorly thought out package.
-
I disagree. I think Dubravka is a truely terrible goalkeeper. Still thinks he should be 1st choice as well the deluded fool that he is.
-
I'd be binning him in the summer but in the meantime surely Karius has to be a better option for the run in.

Nick De Marco offering his assistance on Twitter there. Too late now though sadly.

Tbf our owners couldn't buy Gateshead as they already own NUFC so that would be a non starter. However they did say they would invest heavily in the Region and buying Gateshead Stadium might not be the worst place to start. Not only would they be helping out a local football club desperately in need of help but there's a bit of land around that stadium which could be used to develop something even better which could come in handy if we needed to look for somewhere else to play whilst SJP was renovated and then who knows, maybe a permanent home for the women's team who could maybe groundshare with Gateshead FC going forward.

The whole things stinks the more I think about it. They've literally just sat back and watched those players play 5 games in 9 days to finish the season, when it's been known all along they wouldn't be able to compete in the Play Offs anyway.

People need to realise whether it's a Labour or a Tory councillor, they are all cut from the same cloth. They couldn't care less about me or you and in my experience they are there a bunch of self serving hypocrites. I've been in dispute with my local council since November as they point blank refuse to cut the field behind my back fence which has resulted in loads of brambles, nettles and other assorted weeds growing through our fence and into our back garden. We can't even get our conifers cut because of them and they genuinely couldn't give a shit. Just get the same standard replies saying they'll pass the info on to their grounds team, all whilst I'm paying them £222 a month in Council Tax. I actually managed to collar my local Labour candidate when she was doing a leaflet drop in the street last month. Told her I didn't want her leaflet and not to count on my vote this time. She smugly replied that it shouldn't matter as they always win in my area anyway. Sums them up. Absolutely gutted for Gateshead FC as well.

Just been looking at their accounts (easily accessible online) for 2023 online and that doesn't appear to be the case.
-
Wouldn't take much to modify it mind. Main stand is fine just needs a bit TLC. Stand opposite needs a roof and just demolish the 2 ends behind the goals and build 2 modest stands closer to the pitch after doing away with the running track.
-
Why would we have to increase the away allocation? Man Utd holds 74k and they give away teams 3k tickets, same as we do. If SJP held 70k it would have been sold out for every game this season.

I've never been to watch Blyth in years but seeing how big a game it was I fancied it tomorrow, after the Gateshead match. Checked the ticket prices and if we want a seat at the Blyth game tomorrow it's £42 for me, wor lass and the bairn or £38 if we want to stand. Seems a bit on the expensive side to me. Will decide on that one tomorrow. Not sure what parking is like at Blyth either cos we'd be cutting it a bit fine.
