  1. I'd take Remy back in a shot. He'll have better options than us though.
  2. The letter us non renewers received on Saturday has been put on this site I think, maybe the previous page. Here's the email from yesterday copied and pasted. Pretty standard stuff tbh; Season ticket holders have until this Friday (19th June) to renew their seat before they're released on full general sale. Renewal packs were sent out to supporters in March, detailing all information related to their renewal. Those on any of the Club's popular price-freeze schemes do not need to take any action as their ticket will automatically be renewed. Once the renewal deadline has passed, any seats that have not been renewed will be released on general sale so supporters are advised to return their forms quickly to avoid disappointment. All seat moves will be processed before tickets are released. Any supporters who have not received their renewal pack should contact the Box Office to request new forms. This can be done by emailing [email protected] or calling 0844 372 1892. Season tickets in many areas of St. James' Park are now on sale to supporters priced from just £525 for adults and £250 for children. Full information can be found here. The 2015-16 fixture list is also now available and can be found by clicking here. Newcastle United will be issuing new season cards for the 2015-16 campaign, so all previous cards can now be discarded.
  3. Excellent point. Really fearing for us when the new TV deal kicks in because the traditionally smaller clubs will throw caution to the wind and spend what they feel they'll need to in the hope of surviving in the PL whilst we will no doubt continue on as we have been and the sort of bargain basement players we're looking at now will be deemed too expensive as player values soar in line with all the additional money entering the league.
  4. Just had a look and aye, mine is still attached to me. Not a single block of the ground blocked out if you're a regular adult. http://i.imgur.com/Dsg2cmx.png There'll be loads more availability come Saturday when the latest renewal deadline has passed (unless they extend it again). My seat is still greyed out with red "R" next to it when I log into the stadium plan but it'll be available on Saturday.
  5. Beggars belief really. This is the one summer more than any other where player recruitment needs to be spot on. A lot of money needs investing on 5 or 6 players who will walk straight into the 1st team. We avoided relegation on the final day of last season, season ticket sales have collapsed, and a new manager is in place. Surely it's now where the idiots running things need to say right lets abandon our old policy of haggling to the last penny in the hope we can secure a bargain or 2 and instead just go out and get the players we've identified who will make sure we aren't in the same mess, or worse this time next year. If a player is rated so highly by our board then the chances are he's also rated at his current club so the asking price will need to be paid otherwise they aren't selling him.
  6. People expecting us to spend much more than that will be in for disappointment. Not really, they spent more than that last year. The net spend wasn't anywhere near that which is what we're talking about here.
  7. They're actually the polar opposite to us. One club living well beyond their means and another generating huge turnover but refuses to spend it.
  8. Personally I think it's all a waste of time but could you ask why, after being a season ticket holder for 24 years and cancelling for next season they now see me as untrustworthy to travel to away games. Is it because they don't trust me to travel to another city without causing bother (even though I'm easily traceable as they have all my details on their computer) or is it all just a money making scheme to force people to buy memberships? I think this is a very important question now going by the amount of long term season ticket holders I know who've cancelled for 2015/16 who will now also be denied the opportunity to follow the club on the road if they wish. Also if they continue this policy into next season will they still continue to pester me with email after email asking me to buy tickets for home games when they won't allow me to buy for away games? Just seems rather hypocritical to me.
  9. People expecting us to spend much more than that will be in for disappointment.
  10. If we spend £15m on Austin that leaves around £10m to spend on strengthening another 5-6 positions in the team so no way us this happening. Might as well lock this thread.
  11. Got an email off them yesterday reminding me about Fridays deadline, following on from the letter they sent me on Saturday. Their desperation levels are on a par with the last few home games of last season when they were bombarding people with emails begging them to buy tickets.
  12. This. They would rather look abroad, probably France, and buy 3 or 4 untried players for what they'd need to pay for Austin because in their weird logic they'll think they're getting more for their money.

Exactly my thoughts. How it came across to me is that they'll try a bit harder in the FA Cup to appease the fans but there's still no interest in the League Cup because it starts too early in the season.
  14. Can't see us getting this one over the line now.
  15. That's just where they're currently selling season tickets. The red bits also have availability. I should know I sat in one of those red sections last season and their were plenty non season ticket seats. After the 19th we'll see how many have cancelled and I think the club will be/are shocked by the amount who have called it a day.
  16. The thing is that long gone are the days where you needed a season ticket to get in. Usually you can just rock up on the day and get your ticket and as an added bonus it works out cheaper just to pay match by match than having a season ticket. Literally no point at all in having one unless you are desperate to see us get humiliated down at sunderland once a season.
  17. Just had a scan of the stadium plan. Looks around 25k season ticket holders maximum for next season so just the 27k spaces to fill match by match. Good luck with that.
  18. They can strengthen all they want but it still won't change my stance because history shows that if we're mid table or better by Christmas they'll cash in on any of the better performers. I'm giving them 2 seasons to prove that they want to take the club in another direction. Under no circumstances will I renew for next season or the one after, a sabbatical if you like. However if after 2 years I'm happy with the way the club is being run I'll buy a season ticket for the 2017/18 season provided I haven't found anything else to do with my spare time by then.
  19. Got a letter in the post this morning from them saying their records indicate that I haven't yet renewed my season ticket but if I want to I have until 19th June to do so. Goes on to say the 2015/16 season promises so much under McClaren and admittedly last season was a waste of everyone's time, or disappointing as they put it. Mentions them wanting to finish top 8 and that they're going to give the cups a real go. Also says they're working really hard to strengthen the team and that they're confident of delivering exciting, attacking football. It's in the recycle bin now like.
  20. The last NUFC replica shirt I bought was back in 2002 with the Northern Rock on the front in blue writing. Fancied one to take on holiday this year but refuse to buy it with Wonga splashed across the front so I've just been on and bought one of those Widnes Vikings tops and as a bonus the entire £47 that I've paid for it goes to the Bobby Robson Foundation.
  21. Reminds me of this...... http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=107926751
  22. Haven't watched women's football in a long time, and I saw the game yesterday expecting it to have come on a fair bit. Was right behind it/hoping for the best until the action started. It was far worse than I remembered it. Struggle to see any significant commercial investment ever getting behind it. Tried to watch some of that Norway game earlier but when that lass got caught offside cos she was stood doing the bobble in her hair I just thought I can't be arsed to watch this and turned it over.
  23. One of those articles claims £40m on six new players. That's a massive £6.7m per player. The quality of players that money tends to buy will definitely move you from 15th to 8th Don't forget to take away money for the wages. And agents fees. If we're planning on spending £40m on half a dozen players it'll be more bargain basement rubbish. £6m only buys you a Rivière these days Graham Carr.
  24. Applied for 3 tickets for the 2 group games in Bordeaux. Not arsed which teams are involved but preferably not England. Would only let me apply for category 1 seats so the total cost came to €880 which was bad enough but since then I've had a look about for hotels and bookings.com only have 1 hotel left for sale in Bordeaux and they're wanting £6,000 for a week. Add all this to the vastly inflated travel costs plus spends and it's going to be too expensive so I'll probably just cancel my application.
