They won't go down. They were in a far worse position last season and stopped up. They just seem to carry a lot of luck when it really matters and the annual 6 points off us helps as well.

Official: Yoan Gouffran signs new contract with Goztepe

Hope you enjoyed your few hours away from your lass anyway. Looked like you were all having a ball inside that stadium. -
But a decent manager could still get the team organised and get them to put some effort in to at least pick up the odd point, They could. Carver's the lowest of the low but I do think a few on here are in a little bit of denial about just how f***ing gutless/useless our players are. This. Fair enough Pardew was an arrogant t*** and presided over many unwanted records in his tenure here and Carver is simply completely out of his depth but the one common denominator during the 6 match losing streak last season and again this season is the players with one or two exceptions. They've just downed tools again exactly like last year which is one of the reasons I can't understand people saying you've still got to turn up to support the players. They couldn't give a toss about me or the club and I couldn't give a toss about them, Janmaat aside.

They just downgraded my supporter profile to general sale and my loyalty points stayed on even though technically they were no use to me. When I got my season ticket back I was able to use them again. Thing is loyalty points are only worth something if you've got a screw loose and enjoy going to Sunderland away.

They're held on file. I had 108 points and didn't renew for a season and when I got my season ticket back they were still on. Packed it in again for next season so half expecting them to take the huff and take them off me this time but tbh I couldn't care less.

Nothing important. Just Steve Howey thinks Carver will get the job because a real manager will demand money from Ashley whereas Carver won't. Jesus man, Howey. I cant work out if Howey is tryiong to help Carver or now  Howey's a Mackem. Of course he wants Carver to get the job.

Interesting article about our finances if you're into that sort of thing; http://swissramble.blogspot.ch/2015/04/newcastle-united-in-rut.html?m=1

I would sat moderate success and hopefully something there to build on.

They're busy trying to raise £1000 to fly another plane over for the Swansea match saying "sorry for the timing".
-
So what happens now then? Are we going to the Swansea match on Saturday or staying away again? Personally I just watched yesterday's debacle in my local and enjoyed it far more than I would have had I been there so I'm tempted to do the same on Saturday.

do the club not give the attendance as the number of season ticket holders plus casual cash/card buying fans as the place could be half empty but still post 48,000 including spuds fans Aye every club has to do that now as it's an FA directive.
-
“But I don’t listen to it. If someone comes up to me face-to-face and has a go, I can accept it because it is their opinion. I find it tough, but I accept it. Didn't he offer the fans out face to face at the training ground and then bottled facing up to the one fan who turned up to have a go?

That chant just adds fuel to the theory that we want everything 'Geordie' at the club from the media. Really pisses me off. I think the fact we all hate Carver ends that myth.
-
That would be a good start. Thinking back to our season in the Championship though our lowest gate then was the opening game v Reading, around 36k or thereabouts so really it should be lower than that as that game wasn't officially boycotted just people pissed off about getting relegated.

As far as stupidity and bad timing goes it has to be in a par with the time they had a "green" day when they all turned up wearing something green to celebrate Niall Quinn and his Irish consortium buying them. Problem was their opponents that day were Plymouth Argyle who must have been given a huge lift thinking they'd brought 25,000 fans with them all decked out in green which undoubtedly inspired them to a 3-2 victory. Yes those mackems really are a thick breed.

When I first looked at that plane and noticed it's call sign (GAYMK) the first thing I thought of was gay mackems for some reason. Made me chuckle anyway.

· John Carver walks into a bank in Newcastle. He walks up to the teller and says: “I’d like to withdraw £5,000 please”. The teller replies “Certainly sir! All I need is to see some identification.” Carver, taken aback, replies “This is really embarrassing. But I don’t have any I.D. on me. But I’m John Carver. You can ask anybody around here. They will tell you who I am.” The teller replies sternly “I know who you are sir. But I still need some sort of proof of identification. I’m sorry.” Bemused, Carver asks “is there really nothing you can do?” The teller says “Well. There is one thing. A number of years ago we had this same situation with Obafemi Martins. Obafemi came in without any form of I.D. to prove who he was. So he said he would prove it by doing something an impostor couldn’t possibly do. He set a football down in the street outside. He then proceeded to kick it as hard as he possibly could. He kicked the ball so far, we knew it had to be him.” John replies: “Interesting. Were there any other cases?” The teller smiles and replies:”Yes actually. Not one year ago we had Hatem Ben Arfa in. Same problem again. So Hatem proceeds to put the ball on the floor, and starts juggling it with his feet. He goes on to do a number of tricks, and we knew it absolutely had to be him. “So Sir, is there anything you could do to prove to us who you are?” the teller asks. Carver stops to think for a minute. He shakes his head and replies “I can’t think of anything at all. I’m not sure if there’s a solution here. Honestly, I Dont have a clue..” The teller asks “Will that be large or small notes sir?”

If the desperate emails I've been receiving off them all week (6 since Monday) telling me Spurs (and Swansea) tickets are still on general sale are anything to go by, ticket sales are very slow. Add to that the season ticket holders that don't show and the gaps will definitely be noticeable on the telly. It'll be interesting to see if Sky reference it. Can't remember looking forward to a match as much in ages and I'm boycotting it!
