Urgh. I'd imagine that it's this kind of attitude which will be causing concern to the club, and those who already hold a season ticket in the L4 corner. What kind of attitude? Which you knew, of course. No, enlighten me Aye, OK. It was bolded in my original response. Is this better? And why should people be "warned" about others moving near to them? Not everyone in level 7 is a drunken charver idiot you know! Shock, horror! People at football matches wanting to sing and chant! If others need a warning of this then maybe they should be rethinking their leisure time plans. Actually it is, cos I was on my phone before and didn't see what you had bolded. So the fact that people want to sing and chant at a match is wrong in your opinion? Why? If they are blocking the view of a youngster or an OAP who is unable to stand up for long periods of course it's bloody wrong! I never said anything about standing up. I said singing and chanting! Once again all of Level 7 is blanketed by one opinion! Everyone who populates Leazes Corner stands up at games presently (nothing wrong with that, I am all for it) and if you're seriously suggesting that they will all come down to L4 and sit down throughout the match then you are deluded i'm afraid.

When are you presenting this to the club? Not before it has 2500 signatures. Hope you weed out all the joke ones first mate. Signee #1474 is a Mr Niall Quinn of Sunderland!

Urgh. I'd imagine that it's this kind of attitude which will be causing concern to those who already hold a season ticket in the L4 corner. Exactly. I ended up in Leazes L4 for the Blackpool game at the start of the season and I can safely say that the majority in there wouldn't have been too happy about having to stand up for 90 minutes. Personally I would rather stand for 90 minutes and sing but some people need to understand that doing that isn't everyones cup of tea. Some are too old to stand for long periods, others just like to sit and watch the match.

Very suprised at that as i've always found the ticket office staff very helpful on the very rare occasions i've had a problem. What did he ring them for anyway? Surely if you're being moved you just need to state the area you wish to move into on your renewal when you send it in unless i'm missing something here rather than having to ring them up. Simple maths would dictacte that if evey season ticket holder in Leazes corner wants to move down to Level 4 they can as there's plenty space for everyone and they have already been told they get priority over any other ST holder wanting to relocate. I wonder if the current level 4 ST holders are being "warned" about their new neighbours for next season?

Can't be much in it between there and the Gallowgate Upper Tier though. When tickets for home games go on sale 4 of the 5 sections in Gallowgate show as "good" availability and the other section shows as "very good". Also the Gallowgate Upper has a larger capacity than North West corner L4. Just bought one in the Upper just now. Excellant availabilty. My row has only myself and one or two more that have been in for the long haul. The rest have gave up the ghost. Was up there for the Chelsea game in November and couldn't believe how empty it was. The Gallowgate Upper must hold 4,000 and there can't be much more than 1,000 season ticket holders up there these days. Atmosphere was still canny mind with most people where I was standing for the entire match as well. That's why I think it would be ideal for a new singing section.

Not true. The Gallowgate Upper tier has very few season ticket holders these days. I bought a ticket for the Bolton match from the online ticket office in Wednesday and all 5 sections of the Gallowgate Upper were showing good availabilty meaning there's not a very high percentage of ST holders in there.

If you want the 12 month DD you would probably still have to renew your current seat before the end of the month (end of April for 10 month DD) and then get a transfer once season tickets are realeased for general sale. Probably worth just ringing up or better still going along in person if you can. From what I can gather it seems that they are being pretty helpful up there these days. I transferred from the Leazes to the Gallowgate a few years back when I had my ST because I didn't fancy sitting underneath the away fans and they couldn't have been more helpful on that occasion.

To be honest that would be my preferred choice. I've been going since the early 80's and the Gallowgate has always been the "home" end as far as i'm concerned although i'm aware that people aged 45+ would disagree with me mind. I just think it's the best stand in terms of it's design for generating the most noise and other added bonuses are that the upper tier has very few season ticket holders in it at present and a lot of those who are there this season (upper tier) already stand/sing for the 90 minutes. Add that to the fact that it's always been the end that the players like to attack in the 2nd half and it's a no brainer as far as i'm concerned. The argument about it not being near enough to the away fans doesn't wash with me. If you look at the traditional "home ends" in England like the Kop, the Holte end, Stretford End, The old North Bank and so on they were always at the opposite end of the ground to the away support but it didn't stop them making a hell of a din when they wanted to.

Well the club has changed it's stance from not planning to "we'll look into relocating the singing section in another part of the stadium", so things are looking good. I'm doing my very best to get a petition, maximum online, regional and maybe national coverage to push the idea of a singing section. As yet, we don't know where it will be, but have proposed Level 4 of Leazes, or somewhere in the Gallowgate ... Here's the petition: http://www.gopetition.com/petition/43076.html Starting to sound quite promising now. If you guys can get the club to endorse a singing section that's a massive step forward. I signed the petition yesterday.

Would you like Simon Esland's email address mate? That would be great if you could send me it mate. And keep up the good work mate. There's an awful lot of people appreciate what you and the others are doing. Cheers mate. Also, check your messages. Thanks mate. Got it. I'll send him an e-mail this afternoon. Really hope they put similar offers on for new season ticket holders. Just in the group of people that I go to the match with it would increse ST numbers between us from 4 to 9 if they could spread the cost.

Does anyone know if the dirct debit options will be made available to new season ticket holders? A few of my mates who have had season tickets in the past are looking at getting them again so hopefully 8 or 9 of us can be sat together but only if they can pay monthly as they haven't got the wedge to fork out £558 in one go. Reading the website it seems that existing ST holders can get 12 months interest free if they sign up before the end of Feb or 10 months if they sign up before the end of April but apparently new ST holders won't be able to apply until May. Really hope they keep the DD and price freeze option open to new ST holders because, just speaking to people I know, they would get a load of extra season ticket holders for next season if they did.

Ask them if they can increase the compulsary membership fee that they have added onto the season ticket price or if it's also fixed for 10 years and also ask why the deadline for the 12 months interest free is only available until 28th Feb meaning that any new season ticket holder can't take advantage of it. Cheers.

Great to hear Jordan. Hopefully the club can work together with the fans to make sure all those from Leazes Corner are kept together, wherever that may be.

Wouldn't happen. Firstly, can I just thank you for taking the trouble to arrange to meet up with the relevant parties to make sure that the good work of the last 3 years isn't destroyed and that we can hopefully make sure these fans who not only give the team tremendous vocal backing but also the future of the club are kept together. Supporters like you are crucial to the club and in making sure we maintain the atmosphere that has built over the last few years. However, I disagree with you when you say having thousands standing and making a racket at the back of the Gallowgate wouldn't happen. 4 years ago I never thought I would see a section of over 3,000 NUFC fans singing/standing together at St James' Park but I have. Personally, I think the Gallowgate Upper is the obvious choice. Not many ST holders up there but i've also noticed that a fair few who are already in that section stand up all match anyway, certainly the majority in the back 4-5 rows and I think that the people already there would be far more comfortable with those from L7 coming in with them than those who are currently in Leazes Level 4 corner as the fans there seem slightly more reserved in their support to the team and would probably have to end up giving up their own seats to sit in a section with fans who they are more comfortable with. We already have those in the Gallowgate Corner who give the team great backing and I think that getting 3,000 vocal supporters in the back of the Gallowgate would do wonders for the atmosphere and would even get those in front more involved and would make the Gallowgate a very intimidating end, plus it's already the favoured end that the players like to attack. Anyway good luck with what you are doing and I hope you achieve a result that has everyone happy.

The Gallowgate corner isn't really an option as it has quite a high percentage of season ticket holders already and to be honest the atmosphere there is already pretty good and isn't really in need of being improved. The Gallowgate Upper tier I would say is the best option by far, not only beacuse it's the best designed stand for atmosphere but also the noise from up there would get fans in the middle/lower tiers going as well and would end up creating a full 'end' of noise rather than just a corner. In time more and more of the noiser fans would also end up coming across to the Gallowgate and to be fair it does reate quite a din from there when everyone is up for it, like on Saturday.

That's it cause at the minute you can't even hear the singing section so if they were say somewhere like that you could hear them again. Exctly mate. I was in the singing section last season and when you are up there it sounds amazing. However this season i've been paying match by match and always go in the Gallowgate Corner and from there you can hardly really hear them. They would be much more effective in the Gallowgate.

Can't believe i'm actually going to say this but well done Ashley! Didn't renew my season ticket this year but had one last year in the Championship (will have to check if I qualify for the discount) but after hearing this I will more than likely be getting a season ticket again next season. £46.50 a month for the Gallowgate (even if they don't give me the discount) fits in nicely with my budget as opposed to having to pay it all up front which would have been difficult, and the idea of a 10 year price freeze is incredible. In fact the more I think about it I will definately be getting a season ticket again next season. I've been paying match by match this season. My Arsenal ticket was £35 and Bolton will be £25 when I get round to buying it meaning £60 in the month of February for match tickets. A steady £46.50 a month, with your own guaranteed seat, away match priority and membership thrown in seems like a far better option. The only downside is the breaking up of the Leazes Corner. However, why don't the fans up there use this to their advantage? The Gallowgate Upper Tier is very short on season ticket holders these days and it would be superb if we could move them to there. A better view (in my opinion) and the low roof means the atmosphere would be terrific. I know it costs more there but they are giving you 12 months interest free and the chance to be paying the same amount for the next decade.
  23. Same here. Also like to see the banter betwwen the Leazes Corner and the away fans which you can't see from there. The Gallowgate Upper tier is always one of the last places to sell out these days.
  24. Gallowgate corner (East) would be my recommendation. Great view and atmosphere there. Was superb on Saturday.
  25. 28 goals in a season and a half from a central midfielder is phenominal. Could end up as a Toon cult hero I think.
