Nah it's been happening for years mate. Remember when I first moved from the Leazes to the Gallowgate back in 2006 and it would happen then. We seem to lose the coin toss a lot more these days and teams seem to have also cottoned on more that there's an advantage to kicking that way 2nd half so we seem to kick to the Leazes end a lot more 2nd half now which probably makes it more noticeable.
-
Heard Liverpool fans boo a fair few times when they've been turned around and had to kick towards the Kop 1st half. Don't think I've heard it anywhere else.
-
We rely on him every but as much as the mackems rely on Xhaka. Take them out of either team and the drop off is massive.
-
They *might* just complement each other though and bring out the best in each other but if we don't try it, we'll never know. Not sure what he's got to lose by that least giving it a go. We didn't score last weekend and didn't score this weekend either. Worst case scenario we play them together and don't score then either. It's not exactly fashionable but I wouldn't mind us going to the old 442 to see if that brings us any joy. Stick the 2 of them up top, give Elanga a run on the right, play Barnes on his favoured left, 2 CMs and see if anything changes because it's clearly not working at the moment, especially in an attacking sense. People are becoming as frustrated with his reluctance to change anything than the performances themselves.
-
Thinking of our most recent blanks last week v Wolves we didn't trouble their keeper until the 87th minute. Against Man City did we test Trafford at all? Mackems away, Villa away, Bournemouth, Leeds. All games we didn't score nor create much in.
-
Well that was the 8th time we've failed to score this season, a figure I expect to rise quite a bit in the coming weeks, which suggests you're right.
-
Tbh the ticket prices are definitely the number one reason why I've stopped going, but I must admit if the atmosphere was better, like it was just after the takeover, and the following season, I'd probably bite the bullet and begrudgingly pay it. If I'd paid upwards of £58 to sit in a morgue today and watch that I would have been pissed off no doubt about it. Just money wasted.
-
That really pissed me off. He's literally just strolling in there rather than busting a gut to get in there. Great cross comes over (Barnes?) and he's nowhere. No point holding your hand up and apologising afterwards. Just do your job!
-
Aye they've been excellent to watch these last 2 games I've got to grudgingly admit. Would have been easy to shut up shop at 2-2 but he was having none of it. Fair play.

With the costs involved in going tow atch NUFC these days, costs that have put me off I might add, I just find it strange that people pay out all that cash to do something that appears to make them so bloody miserable. The glum faces, the moaning and twisting on, the leaving your seats for long periods for a pint/watch it on the concourse/early dart back to the pub, I just don't get. And that applies when we're winning as well as losing.

Get Geordie Boy Carrick in to replace this chancer 😉

He's a worry for me. Moreso than Elanga simply because he's the only genuine CF we have so if he's not up to it we've got huge problems. He doesn't look great, and doesn't have age on his side either. Depends what your targets and ambitions are, but if they are to be challenging for the CL places, then I'm not convinced he's your answer. If you're Brentford and it's mid table security he's fine I guess.
-
Just seen something on X saying it was the worst atmosphere since Forest on Boxing Day 2023
-
Again though we've been playing pretty much the same way since August but since the poll was created our results have improved. Seems strange that you were happy to keep him when we weren't playing well and not getting results and now want rid of him when we are playing pretty much the same way but with an improvement in results, but fair enough.
-
Can I ask why? Up until today we were on a good run of form (3 defeats in 15) and were doing far better than at the time the poll was created.
-
You as well pal. Just got to remember that people are always more likely to come onto places like this to complain than dish out praise. They're good places to vent your frustration. Far better on here than inside the ground imo.
-
If you're in a great mood don't ruin it by letting people get you down then. As I say 86% of people on here (me inculded) are in agreement with you that Howe is still the best man for the job, so just relax and stop getting worked up about something that doesn't really exist.
-
Or how about you keep off this thread as it's clearly upsetting you
-
Hate to say it cos I love the bloke, and he was the first one to buy into it all when he gave up Atletico Madrid for a relegation scrap here but he looks just about done as a PL player now.
-
Take a look at the current poll running at the top of the thread. 86% support for him on here. Stop being a drama queen
-
Might as well just lock the thread then
-
Don't know why he won't give him a start on the right and let Barnes play on the left. Gordon doing absolutely nothing to justify being picked every week. Let him play in the Champions League games. He seems to be interested in turning up for them.
-
Unfortunately he's brought in a whole load of players who are totally unsuited to the system he wants to play. Wissa been poor, but looks totally isolated anyway. Woltemade looks like he might be a decent enough number 10, but he won't play with one. Elanga appears to be happy playing in a counter attacking team where he'll have space ahead of him to utilise his pace, but we don't play like that. That's £180m on players who don't look suitable to how he wants us to play.
-
Sounded decent on the telly up until they scored. Then sounded shite thereafter.
