Think they were generally spread out but congregated together to celebrate after the Final whistle when the home fans had departed. Certainly from the photo's I've seen it appears the Turkish fans were dotted around in 2s and 3s.

Think at present safe standing in this Country is at a 1:1 ratio. Obviously the other issue would be that the East Stand offers some of the most expensive areas to view the game from so no chance of that going to safe standing. That's why it's always behind the goals or in the corners as theyres traditionally the cheapest areas to watch the match from so tend to attract a younger, more energetic fan!

Villa Park will be at 52,000 by the time the tournament starts.

Will get 20+ goals no problem this season if he stays fit.

Newcastle United 4-1 Paris Saint-Germain (04/10/23)

I've been to umpteen matches at both venues and for regular run of the mill matches the atmosphere is truely dreadful. At Celtic especially theres usually 1000s of empty seats as ST holders give many of these games a miss. The Old Firm used to be good and I've been to a few of those, although not as good as made out, but even that is fairly poor these days due to the away fan ban. I was at Rangers v Man Utd which was deafening pre match and for the first 5 mins until Man Utd scored and Celtic V Milan which was very good as well but again I wouldn't say any better than the very best atmospheres I've heard at SJP over the years. Personally find Ibrox the better of the 2 venues. It's design gives it the edge for atmosphere. -
I think the general consensus is that the ticketing changes have been detrimental. In my 40 years of going to SJP I've never seen queues outside beforehand like I did that Burnley game. 30 mins standing in a queue to get in is just ridiculous when it used to be less than 5. And nobody, but nobody can argue to me with a straight face that sending fans around the country with "fake" tickets designed to fail at the turnstile and making them walk around to the home ticket office for a replacement, often decked out in their black and white is a good idea either. It's downright irresponsible.

I know you always try to stay positive about ticketing/the support but literally everyone I've spoken to this season who is a regular away traveller has said it's taken a massive turn for the worse atmosphere wise this season, other than you. Brighton was regarded as really poor as well until people were stirred for the last 5 mins or so. All the empty seats in our end that day were another story of a failing system. Sheff Utd sounded pretty poor (albeit on TV as I wasn't there) but as I said, speaking to mates that were and they said it was very disappointing, especially given the scoreline.
-
There should never be mitigating factors for a bad atmosphere at an away game. Thinking back over the years I've stood in away ends where we've been 4, 5, 6 goals down and the support has still been tremendous as defiance takes over. A couple of my mates were at Sheff Utd and said that was pretty poor and that's for an 8-0 away win so clearly something not right.

First is a clear yellow and dissent has been a yellow card for as long as I can remember. Silly mouthing off at the ref when you've already been booked. Boro were by far the better team anyway 11v11 other than a short 5/10 minute spell.

Celtic often aren't all they're cracked up to be and I've been to a few big games there over the years. Rangers are louder than Celtic for big European nights but they benefit from Ibrox being a better stadium acoustically than Celtic Park is and you can literally feel the noise bouncing off all 4 stands when inside. -
If they can get tickets of course! Hopefully this stadium expansion talk becomes reality sooner rather than later.

Not even bothering entering this one. Can't be arsed with a repeat of Saturday.

Wealdstone Raider was there last season. Not sure if he'll be there tonight.

Haha I know what you mean mate it's a dreadful venue to watch football. I'm not there tonight as it's a bit of a rush to get there by the time I finish work but going along on Saturday.

The way they are playing at the minute it's 20 quid well spent mate. They're brilliant to watch!

They've reallocated some fans tickets to UEFA bigwigs at short notice but have promised people that they will get a full refund. Was on NUFC.com earlier. -
I don't go in for all this every new stadium is soulless argument either. Anyone who was at any of the derbies at the SoL in the late 90s will tell you it was anything but soulless. Also been to the likes of Benfica and Sporting and you could never class either of those places as soulless. SJP is looking increasingly outdated. I was in L7 on Saturday and it's a pretty miserable experience. If anything you could class that as soulless. You feel detached from the rest of the ground, too far away from the action and the atmosphere up there is woeful. I would genuinely rather watch on TV than up there. Sight lines were very poor as well. We were in Row F and had a huge railing blocking our view of the Leazes End goal. If a site could be secured at the Town Moor/Castle Leazes or down by the Arena it's a no brainer to build a super modern 70k arena.

Used to be the old family enclosure, then it changed to the Park Grill I believe. Not sure what it's called now but it's definitely corporate. Every so often seats pop up in there for sale but the system never let's you buy them.
-
Problem was that there was only a couple of hundred seats available in the Gallowgate corner and around 3,500 in the Level 7 singing corner meaning the vast majority couldn't get in so we're either dispersed around the rest of the ground or just wrapped it in altogether. Was a real shame. I loved it up there. It really was something else, especially in the Promotion season.

We had an 8k allocation for Rangers for a midweek friendly match and that didn't even go to members so I reckon there's zero chance of any away tickets going to members sale any time soon.
