  1. Aye the best matches between us always seem to be at Elland Road. Think this will be another match not all that pleasing on the eye.
  2. I wouldn't go as far to say that he's carrying this team but I also think we'd be absolutely fucked if we lost him for any length of time. Nobody could come in and do what he does.

    That's a ridiculous stat tbf!
  4. He's a nice footballer.

Knows how to keep a clean sheet. Unlike the other clown.
  6. Pretty easy. It was a sell out but went on their site the day tickets went on sale and got 3 easy enough. Pubs are all mixed before and after the match and fans all come out together at the end with no problems at all which I always find strange for a derby but they seem to get on well.
  7. Currently sat on a train which gets into Newcastle at 1pm. Was slightly tempted to get a ticket so had a look and there's loads available, £52 in the Gallowgate and £65 in the East Stand. Don't think I'm going to bother though.
  8. On the train home from Dundee now having been to Dundee Utd 0-1 Dundee. Absolutely diabolical game of football which genuinely wouldn't have looked out of place on a park on a Sunday morning, and played in front of a pretty much silent crowd. Shite.
  9. I'll not be going. If that counts as boycotting then yes, I supoose I am.
  10. They're going to have to give away a few more if the trend of all those empty seats at the last 2 home games continues!
  11. Aye no problem with their tactics. They are generally a limited group and are playing to their strengths which even the good teams are struggling with. They've beat Chelsea, drew with Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool so they are doing plenty right. They try to get into a game of football against them and they'll get beat. Problem they have is how to evolve from this and turn themselves into a team that the fans want to watch in time because they're only scoring a goal a game currently and their last 2 home games have already seen swaithes of empty seats so it's clear a lot of fans want to see a bit more attacking football. If they do that though they'll get beat. They won't change anything this season though so those hoping for a post New Year collapse are going to be in for disappointment.
  12. That's not what the argument was though. He said that the MAJORITY of people on here were against him and thought we were overpaying. Some were but certainly not the majority. We only paid £10m less for Gordon 3 years earlier who hadn't been racking up anywhere near the numbers Elanga had. Think @bobbydazzlahit the nail on the head when saying hindsight is the best director of football. I still think that his fellow Countryman spitting the dummy soon after signing has probably had quite a negative effect on his performances as well. As good as our wingers were for Isak, he was also very good for them with his movement, pace and aerial ability.
  13. I've just had a look back to page 119 on this thread when Fabrizio Ramano broke the news. The immediate comments after that are (and I haven't misssed any out); Yes Välkommen! Brilliant news this! Here we Gooooo! Get In! Bath time Yes Finally! Feels good to get the first one in! Fucking hell that feeling of a transfer is back! Like a first sip of a pint after 2 years tee total. Get the fuck in! Never in doubt Welcome Can everyone calm down now Fucking cooooome on ye dancer!!! It's fair to say the immediate reaction to him signing was positive, both on here and the outside world I'd say.
  14. Can only judge on what we've seen so far and he's been utter shite mate.
  15. Aye very true. At the time I don't recall too many people saying we overpaid for Elanga. On the face of it, and coming off the season he'd just had at Forest it seemed a fair deal. In hindsight he may well go down as our worst ever signing. He appears to have zero technical ability and no sort of footballing brain either. If you told me after the takeover in 2021 that Jacob Murphy would still be our 1st choice RW in 2026 I'd have laughed at you, but he's there on merit, and one of those reasons is that Elanga has been so poor.
  16. Got to say after only watching 1 of their games all season (Forest away) I watched both their home Xmas games v Leeds and Man City (2 big games for them) and thought the atmosphere sounded utter shite! At times the TV mics were even picking up the players talking to each other which you don't hear very often in PL games. Also noticeable was how many empty spaces there was at both games. Assumed given that they're on a massive crest of a wave by their standards the place would have been packed out for both games but it was nowhere near full which was a surprise. Can't knock their players though. They are literally giving everything they have and you can't ask for more than that. In fact the players are certainly outperforming their fans on the evidence of those 2 home games I watched.
  17. It's not happening mate. They've got too much about them. You can tell.
  18. Fancy the mackems to get something v Man City. Sure they used to Man Citys bogey team. Certainly remember a couple of backs to the wall 90 minute defensive displays only for them to run up the pitch in injury time and win 1-0.
  19. It's quite a small amount of tickets on GS though. Not enough to affect the atmosphere. It used to be best part of 20,000 before the ballot came into operation, which can make a difference. Certainly don't think its any coincidence that the atmosphere took a nose dive pretty much as soon as the club went down the ballot route. The huge ticket price hikes this season have just added to it. Can only speak for myself here but I've stopped applying and I'd certainly class myself as one of the more vocal fans!

Ramsdale wasn't really making the standard saves though.
  21. Ballots + ticket price increases have killed the atmosphere at SJP. No longer do the ones who want to be there the most get into the ground, it's now names out of a hat so to speak. I've seen myself faking doctors and dentist appointments so I could nip away from work at 9.30 in the morning and get back home in time to get my 10 different browsers set up to maximise my chances! Now I've got exactly the same chance as someone who might not even support NUFC but buys a membership cos they fancy trying for a specific match. Charging £58 to sit behind the goals and £75-£97 for a seat along the sides in the East or Milburn Stands also means you aren't really going to attract the vocal radge type to games anymore.
  22. Aye it's got Derby County written all over it.
  23. He's right though we didn't get battered like you said we did. We had more; Possession Shots on target Shots off target Blocked shots Corners Crosses into their box And obviously 2 more goals
