Demand at the moment could constantly fill 60k+ seats and the club haven't really done anything yet. 52,000 is nowhere near big enough for what's coming over the next few years and beyond. It's vital that the next generation of supporters aren't locked out like they were back in the 90s. I'm sure our new owners are mindful of that. Football as a spectator sport is more popular than ever now. If you'd told me 10 years ago that West Ham (a club with a far smaller fanbase than us) would be averaging 62,500 in 2022 I'd have laughed in your face! They need to find a way of getting SJP to 60/65k. If not they've got a decision to make.

You want their names? Every home game this season has sold out on the day of sale to members (other than the L7 tickets that they put restrictions on stopping a lot of people buying plus the small amount they have to keep back for GS). If you think we've resched our ceiling interms of support then that's fair enough but I'm certain you're wrong. We could have sold 60k+ for every home game this season if capacity was there.
-
We were averaging over 51k last time we were in the Championship. Every game has been sold out since Ashley left. You really think demand wouldn't increase substantially if the club has the success that the owners want it to have over this next decade? 52,000 would be nowhere near enough.

Tbf we've been worse than shite for the past 15 years, suffering 2 relegations and knocked out the cups straight away yet crowds still usually hovered around the 50,000 mark.

Shame the lad talks absolute shite cos that would have been amazing!

Haven't got a clue mate! Just seen a few things with todays date on and the mention of Strawberry Place.

I honestly don't know how I'd have coped and that's the truth! From that perspective I can understand the scale of the meltdown on Wearside and the fact that they've picked out human rights as their comfort blanket tbh. They've got nothing really. A middle of the road 2nd tier team, who, without wanting to sound arrogant here, are probably never going to get near us, the club that they set their benchmark against, in many of their lifetimes. It must be completely soul destroying.

There's a couple of them work at my place. They point blank refuse to engage in any football conversation these days. One thing I will say is that they never mention hewman rights, nor have I heard any one else out in the real world. I think that line is more a RTG coping mechanism than anything else, especially as their most vocal protester, Exile, was begging PIF to buy Man Utd a little over a year ago.

Apparently for Take That and Elton John but can't confirm as wasn't at either.

Liverpool will finish above us, I'm sure of that. They still have a World Class squad there and as much as I dislike Klopp he's not a bad manager. They are easily capable of going on a run where they win 9 or 10 games on the spin. Regardless of the League table as it stands I'd be more confident of finishing above Man Utd than Liverpool but I doubt we'll do that either. As I said it's a 3 way battle for 7th in my honest opinion with Brighton and West Ham.
-
This. We're 7th despite injuries to key players for large parts and lets just say a few dubious VAR decisions have also cost us points. Obviously Liverpool will overtake us but I believe it's between us, Brighton and West Ham (who will improve) for 7th. If we can get our big players on the pitch more often and then flex our financial clout in January I'd make us favourites for that 7th place.

He's playing in a very poor team who've had their worst start to a season in over 40 years. I'd look beyond this season and concentrate more on what he's done in the past when judging him tbh. I've actually attended a Leverkusen home game this season in August. They lost 3-0 at home against Hoffenheim and were beyond dreadful. Admittedly Diaby was pretty anonymous that afternoon but we got talking to a few Leverkusen fans and I was asking about him with us being linked with him and every one of them said the same. Absolutely brilliant and they'll be devastated when he inevitably leaves.
-
Aye I think he could be a pretty easy signing to do in January, same with Maddison.
-
I think if we are top 7 by January I could quite easily see them dropping £90m on Maddison and Diaby which would more or less guarantee us European qualification.

I work with a lad who follows Blyth home and away and he's always said that the Conference North is one league above their natural level.
-
Pickford only made 31 appearances for them and jumped at the first chance he got to be away. He played more times for Bradford City.

Looks like it was rounded down after all then Starting to get flashbacks of the Mayor Quimby/monorail episode here.

Speaking as someone who works in a printing factory I'm probably the least qualified to read a balance sheet () but does that really say the Trust spent £34,239 on Administrative expenses last year or am I reading it totally wrong?
-
I got an email saying they were giving £83,500 to the Alan Shearer Foundation, £27,500 to the West End Foodbank, £59,000 to the SBR Foundation and £30,000 to the NUFC Foundation but that was it.
-
Rounded up? Great no problem although knowing how the Trust like to blow their own trumpet I think they might have mentioned that. If it's been rounded down then by how much and who has the surpluss gone to? I'm very sceptical when it comes to the Trust. I've seen a few good lads who were on there who've walked away from it all and haven't wanted to say a great about why. Or maybe it's just that I can't stand Alex Hurst and don't trust the bloke as far as I could throw him.
-
No I just think it seems strange that exactly £200,000 was raised to the penny. Especially when you include interest on the money. I mean what's the chances?
-
I'm surprised more hasn't been made of this. For all those pledges over all those months to come to EXACTLY £200,000 and not a quid over is pretty astonishing tbh.

Not sure if megaphones and drums would ever happen here but this season I've been to 2 Bundesliga games and one Eredivisie match where they were used and tbh all 3 grounds pissed on SJP for atmosphere. Bayer Leverkusen v Hoffenheim, hardly a massive game, 26k there.l, small away following. Leverkusen lost 3-0 yet the crowd was jumping all game even at 3-0 down. They have a terrace behind one goal whuch maybe holds around 3k with seating above it and they literally never stop all game. I must say the use of the a megaphone here worked really well. Next up Eintracht Frankfurt v Cologne. Again they have a terrace behind one goal which maybe holds 8 or 9k with seats above it. A megaphone was once again used and the atmosphere was electric. There was a big away following at this one and they also contributed enormously. Lastly I was at PSV v Feyenoord at the weekend. No megaphone but a drum at this one. They have rail seating behind one goal instead of the traditional terracing like in Germany and again they have 3 or 4k in the lower tier behind one goal who never let up all game. There was a fantastic atmosphere at this one helped as well by the 4-3 scoreline I'd admit! Firstly I will say that having a huge area behind one goal where like minded, noisy fans can congregate makes a massive difference. They are very audible across the entire stadium which in turn gets the rest of the crowd up. Secondly the design of the stadium clearly makes a massive difference. All 3 stadiums due to their design are conducive ro a far better atmosphere than SJP is. PSV especially with 4 separate, very steep stands which are all roughly the same height makes it feel like the fans are right on top of the players. It must be a very intense place for an away player. Whilst there's little we can do about the acoustics at SJP I think it's vital we get the noisy fans in a more prominent position directly behind the goal. I've witnessed the impact this can have myself. A couple of hundred fans in the Corner is like a drop in the ocean comparatively and just doesn't have the impact. -

And now that we play more on the front foot and have more possession of the ball this should really work even more to our advantage.
