  1. Looks like they're taking yesterday's demolition of Aston Villa with their usual grace and charm
  2. We were in the Gallowgate today and it was absolutely tremendous! Great to hear the Leazes singing as well, especially the North East corner. The whole club just feels as one and I love it!!!
  3. Went for a piss came back and they were just finishing interviewing Taylor. Bit gutted I missed it all.
  4. Gutted he fluffed that chance because that was some incredible bulid up play. Ultimately the lad is just not good enough. In fact he's miles away. I think that if Wilson got injured for these next 3 games Howe would play either Murphy or ASM up top ahead of him. Loved that 2nd half today. We were incredible at times and they couldn't live with us. My only gripe is clowns shouting "shoot" at Bruno every time he gets the ball but nothing at all to complain about on the pitch.
  5. I never said that though. An interesting post a few up about basically doing what Spurs have done was interesting and every avenue will be looked into no doubt.
  6. Demand for Premier League football as at an all time high, and the demand at Newcastle is even higher than it was in the Keegan and Robson years. We could have sold 60k v Palace in the cup and that's with virtually no away fans. We could sell 70k+ for every league game right now. I think it's something the owners are looking at but I reckon even they will have been shocked at the demand there is for tickets. Selling out a 3rd Round League Cup tie v Crystal Palace 2 weeks beforehand is crazy! No doubt their original plan would have been to try to get SJP up to around the 60k mark of possible but I wouldn't be surprised if they are maybe thinking this is too low.
  7. Well obviously but I'm afraid all the ingredients are there for that to happen. As I said they'd be better off doing this at the Crystal Palace game.
  8. They couldn't have picked a worse game to do this. Final game before everything stops for the World Cup, added to the late kick off, then factor in the opposition. It's got all the ingredients of that Liverpool home game in 2019 when in nearly 40 years of going to games I'd never seen everyone so radged up! There's a big chance it could turn nasty, people will have been on the drink 4/5 hours, they'll be pumped up. If they're going to do this they'd have been better off doing it 3 days earlier at the Crystal Palace game. Will be a different crowd at that one. 1000s of youngsters, loads no doubt going to their first ever match. They'd get far less hassle at that one and the threat of any physical violence aimed towards them but be far less. I honestly don't think this is going to end well.
  9. 17.30 kick off on a Saturday. Most the crowd pissed up, what could possibly go wrong here
  10. Aye we lost 3-2. It was moved to the Sunday for live TV coverage which was pretty unusual at the time. We gave them a bit of a scare that day.
  11. We got our first season tickets in there. Still remember mine was £45 and my dad's was £90. 23 home games as well.
  12. We've got season tickets there. Usually get over 5 or 6 times a season and for the games we can't make they offer a resale service so we can sell our tickets on and our seats aren't left empty. It's a very atmospheric stadium due the steep stands making you feel like you're almost on top of the pitch and helped by a lot of the fans being absolutely crackers as well! Didn't really see that coming yesterday. They've been a bit inconsistent in the league this season.
  13. He's a Chelsea fan. Told us that in a pub many years ago before we all realised what a cunt he was.
  14. You do realise these are just made up stories mate? It didn't actually happen. If you hadn't already noticed this, after every loss at home one of them makes up a story that the opposition fans got filled in afterwards. They seem to use it as some sort of comfort blanket, the sad cunts.
  15. Will completely ruin their catchment area this.
  16. I've noticed that they appear to developing their Rafa level of hatred towards Howe. Strangely enough, of our last 3 managers there's only been Bruce who they haven't had a complete meltdown over and have basically just left alone. Can't think of why this could be.
  17. Seems like there's a bit of chew with these lot nowadays. I've heard off a couple of people at work today that they were acting themselves outside the ground and in the town yesterday and seemingly an Everton fan was knocked unconscious outside the Gate post match. Scouse Mackems indeed.
  18. Thinking the same. I know we're better than these but I'm not confident. Don't think Wilsons hamstrings will take 3 games in a week so I think there's a strong chance we play Wood tonight, and well, he's not very good is he.
  19. The general standard looks absymal from what I've seen this season. Usually you get one, sometimes 2 exceptional teams but it's just much of a muchness by the looks of it.
  20. Baring in mind a win would put Blackburn top here I think it's fair to say that this must be the weakest Championship in years. They are terrible!
  21. What brilliant memories do you have of the Boris Johnson reign may I ask?
  22. Ticket prices shot up all over the country though in the mid 90s when the Premier League really grew in popularity. We were no different to any of the other big clubs at the time. We certainly weren't exorbitant like some are suggesting. The Platinum Club I didn't agree with but the bond scheme was 100% optional and lets not forget was a Freddy Fletcher idea that he'd previously done whilst a director at Rangers. Mike Ashley put around 20k season tickets up in price by over £120 from one season to the next (17/18 to 18/19) and few batted an eyelid, and that was to watch a pointless club that wasn't even trying.
  23. There's an awful lot of presumptions, possiblys, and may haves in that statement. And we certainly didn't have the highest season ticket prices in the country at that point. I had a season ticket throughout that time and can't remember amy sharp increases. In fact even when Mike Ashley took over in 2007 ST prices in the Leazes/Gallowgate were onky around the £400 mark. Checkout what Ken Bates was charging Chelsea fans in the mid 90s!
  24. We certainly didn't have the most expensive tickets in the country. That was Chelsea by an absolute mile! My season ticket cost £45 in 1991, was held at the same price in 1992 and jumped up to £178 in the new Leazes End in 1993. Pretty sure we outsold everybother club in England for replica shirt sales for a time though. Hall took a gamble on us and it paid off. To take a club from where he found us to where he left us was nothing short of amazing. Standing there in a crumbling wreck of a ground with 14,000 others was a pretty grim experience before he came in and rescued us. I don't begrudge him a penny of what he walked off with.
  25. Usually agree with you on most football related matters but can't on this one mate! I loved SJH and my best times and memories of being a NUFC supporter are from when he owned the club. When he took over we were playing in a crumbling wreck of a ground with no protection from the elements unless you were prepared to pay for a seat. The club was skint, crowds were dwindling and the team were heading into Division 3 and oblivion. He brought in Keegan. He immediately galvanised the whole club. He rebuilt the stadium into one of the best in Europe at the time and we had an unbelievable team out on the pitch. Amazing times and memories which I wouldn't swap fro anything. We literally went from relegation to Division 3 certainties in 1992 to a 3rd place Premier League finish in 1994!
