  1. He's been here 4 years and I've never seen any of it. 8 goals and 3 assists in 108 appearances is shameful for an attacking player. He needs moved on.
  2. Don't think he has the attributes to succeed in the Premier League. You need more than pace and a stack of enthusiasm these days.
  3. What happened to all the money raised in their attempt to buy 1% of the club? Is it still a going concern and are they still collecting or did it end up being shared amongst local charities? Tried to find out but there's not much information out there.
  4. Good finish there. Sad fact though is that he is lacking in many key areas to ever be a Premier League footballer and at 27 years old he isn't getting any better either. Think he'll be one of 6 or 7 players moved on this summer.
  5. Definitely the Gallowgate but you'll need to be very quick. It's always the first stand to sell out. Failing that L7 next to the away fans is pretty decent.
  6. Got 2 in the Gallowgate Upper block S for Palace. Logged in and had tickets within 10 mins.
  7. They'll sell 44k season tickets for next season which is the maximum permitted. Add the 3.2k set aside for away teams and that leaves exactly 5k seats available for matchday sales (unless away team don't take up their full allocation). It's going to be very difficult to get into SJP next season without a season ticket.
  8. Well he's our 2nd top goalscorer and top of our assists table so he's obviously done something right. The likes of ASM, Robert, Ginola and HBA are mavericks. Ask them to expend extra energy chasing back and tackling and you lose a big part of what they are really good at. Beresford used to give Ginola hell for not helping him out but Keegan would always side with Ginola in that argument. We're as good as safe now anyway and a big reason for that is ASM's goals/assists.
  9. I disagree but it's all about opinions I guess.
  10. He still worries the oppostion. He was occupying 2, and sometimes 3 Everton players when he came on last night. Then of course it's his run and turn of speed that ends up getting their man a red card but we didn't capatalise on it. The one thing with NUFC fans is they'll turn on the flair players very quickly. I've lost count of the amount of times I argued in the stands defending Robert and a large section were always critical of HBA as well. I expect ASM will become the next target.
  11. Like I say I think our resurgence in form was down to Joelinton, Willock and Shelvey playing out of their skins. A solid CB pairing of Burn and Schar, Dubravkas improvement, and the 2 full backs (and of course Howe) more than anything Wood has added. It's not as if he's been playing really well but just not scoring. If we can get £10m back for him in the summer I'd snap their hands off.
  12. The one thing I'll say in his defence is that he does win his fair share of headers and flick ons but because he's playing up front on his own he's not flicking it on to anyone. He might be more effective as part of a front 2, maybe, dare I say it in a sort of Quinn/Phillips type partnership where is role is simply to win flick ons and knock it down to a more mobile and capable goalscorer.
  13. I disagree. I think Wood has contributed very little to our victories. They've more been down to the resergence of Shelvey, Willock and Joelinton in midfield, the 2 new full backs (until Trippier got injured) and the pairing of Burn and Schar at CB than anything Wood has done.
  14. My expectations of him weren't particularly high when we signed him but my god he's came nowhere even close to them! I honestly don't know what he brings to the party. He's slow, his finiahing is poor and for all people go on about his hold up play all I see is the ball bouncing off his straight back to the opposition. Yes he wins headers, you'd expect him to at 6'3" but there's more than that to Premier League football these days. Basically a poor mans Billy Whitehurst and in hindsight we'd have been better off keeping that £25m towards the summer budget and just playing Gayle. Still, we signed 5 players in January and he's been the only disappointment so that's a good strike rate from Howe.
  15. Assuming that's the same Prince Andrew who opened their stadium for them?
  16. They're blaming us for the war in Ukraine now They've completely lost it! Their one consolation was, despite the takeover we'd still get relegated and possibly have to play them next season. Now that's not happening it appears to have finished a fair few of them off!
  17. Looks around 500 tickets left for Wolves (all Level 7) and it doesn't go on online general sale until Tuesday so it'll sell out before then. Demand is crazy right now. Far greater than even the Sir Bobby Robson days. The only way to get in very soon will be either as a season ticket holder or a member who gets straight in when tickets go on sale. Next season will be a nightmare trying to get tickets. If there's a way to get SJP up past the 60k mark it needs to be looked at.
  18. Great business for £15m! A back 4 of Targett, Burn, Schar, Trippier is a solid foundation to build from.
  19. Agree with this. Surely the way building technology has advanced in the 50 years since it was built should enable us to build a stand with similar (or slightly larger) footprint to the current stand. Although one thing they can't do is cram more seats in. I was in there for the Man Utd and Cambridge games this season and its noticeably far more cramped than the other 3 stands!
  20. There's so few travelling up they'll be inaudible anyway. They've got a hopeless travelling support.
  21. That's another possibility. I also think they'll look into maybe going down and adding maybe 4 or 5 rows to the front of each stand. That's what Ajax did at the Arena which upped their capacity from 52k to 55,500. With SJP being on high land I wouldn't expect any water table problems and it's quite an easy way of adding 3/4k seats.
  22. Part of the capacity increase in 2000 was due to around 1.5k add to the corner below where the TV studios are (Leazes L4). I noticed when we played Cambridge they had the entire usual away end stretching all the way around into the Corner, minus the 2 nearest blocks to the Milburn Stand. Their support numbered 4,830 but if you add approx 1.2k from those 2 blocks that they didn't sell that takes the total combined capacity of L7 Leazes and the L7 Corner to around 6k so if the Gallowgate was built up identically that would be the capacity increase (I think!).
  23. That would be magnificent. Would bring capacity up to 58k/59k.
