Pires was a hugely underrated player in that Arsenal team as a lot of the attention would go to Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira. I thought he was an exceptional player - a really intelligent player. Always remember my mum telling me and my dad we had signed a french guy called Pires. Turned out it was Lionel Perez. The disappointment. Even now.

I don't really get the HBA work rate thing - when Pardew was picking him regularly, his work rate was absolutely fine. At the risk of starting a Ginola/Robert discussion - HBA was doing more tracking back than they ever did. And how has HBA been responsible for 7-8 goals being conceded?? I can barely think of any. He's rarely on the pitch.

Currently having an argument with another NUFC fan and an Arsenal fan on another forum about Pardew, Ben Arfa, Mbiwa etc. According to the NUFC fan, Mbiwa is complete shite and that Pardew has treated Ben Arfa correctly. The Arsenal fan has labelled Debuchy as a terrible defender. I actually can't be arsed to argue this anymore.
