I think Carrick is a ridiculously underrated footballer.
-
I think Lampard is and has been a superior player to Gerrard. I never saw why people used to describe Fowler as the best natural finisher in England. I thought he was quite average.

Debt is pretty much crucial to the growth of any business.

Tiote is not nearly as bad as people like to make out. If he can recover the form he had for us during the first season and half, he is a good player.
-
On his day, Titus was brilliant - quick, strong, good on the ball. It was just that it didn't happen often enough. I seem to remember him being brilliant against Juventus in the CL and thinking that if he could play like that every week...
-
Kieron Dyer was a vastly overrated footballer.

Not after Barnetta got locked in his hotel room for 3 years.

Fair enough - just seems a bit odd if the French journalist is saying that it is unlikely anyone will bid over our amount if clubs already have.
-
Has anyone bid above 8 million euros for Gomis? The French football guy (David Crossan) on twitter said that it is hard to see any club going above our bid.

Well Speed and Cabaye are different types of central midfielder so the comparison isn't particularly useful. I would rather have Speed in my midfield though.
-
People are genuinely saying Debuchy was poor last season? Staggering.
-
That's better than I thought. Must not have been looking properly.

What kind of fee would we be looking at? His scoring record doesn't look great from wikipedia. Is he more of a target man?
-
I love Laudrup as well, but his cv has the odd blip on it.
-
I still don't quite understand what is wrong with a midfield three of Cabaye, Sissoko and Tiote. Just try it, Alan, and see what happens.
-
2 additions would be fine as long as they are of a sufficient quality.
-
Crystal Palace probably found it hard to get him over the line.
-
I realise that putting an unrealistic target in the thread entitled 'Realistic Transfer Targets', but what is Micah Richards' status at Man City? Does he not get picked because he is injured or they don't rate him?

Yeah mate, I'm the blinkered one. What I actually meant was that there are certain games where I can see a role for Jonas. Not many, but certainly in the case of injuries or closing games out as a sub. So there's no 'probably not' about him starting, then? There's no games in which he should get near the starting lineup. I can see games where we might want to play him as part of a midfield three or games where we want to counter a specific threat and play him a midfielder in a 4-4-2. So yes - I don't think he should be part of a starting XI on a regular basis but I see a role for him. I don't know what else you want me to say - I can see a role for a lot of players in our squad that might be outside our first choice XI.

Yep, a massive error. Always seemed very weird to sell Routledge. He's just had his first decent season in the top flight in 8 years. Again like the Hughes situation, selling him wasn't the problem, who we replaced him with is. Not quite the same as the Hughes situation - we should never have sold Hughes.

Is Jonas worth a place in the team now? Probably not. Is he a valuable squad member that can cover a number of positions? Yes. That's it really.
