I was thinking about this before. Although the likes of Ranger and Vuckic dont really play much of a role for us, they are bench fillers in a thin squad and provide protection incase of a serious injury crisis. I'd love to see both or even one of them out on loan but the make up of our squad might be a bit too fragile. Get some experienced players in on loan or free transfers? Better to get a short term solution to the squad numbers and let the promising youngsters get out on loan and get game time. Arsenal are historically the best example of getting the youngsters out on loan and letting them come back much improved players. If we can do that then im all for it, but the 'if' is there for a reason. Its all well and good to use Arsenal as an example, but we just dont have the depth that a team like that does.

Well i cant really argue that he hasnt been our weakest defender, with Colo and Jose having fantastic seasons, and Simpson having been very impressive on his return. Maybe he should be dropped to give one of the other two a crack at it, but to suggest Williamson isnt of Premiership standard is quite harsh and untrue.

Well then you'd know he has been quite solid for us this season. It seems to me that you think making a few mistakes is just not good enough and warrants being dropped to the bench. Show me a CB in the premier league this season that hasnt made a single costly mistake. Sure he has cost us a goal or 2 throughout the season, but for the most part he has been great in his partnership with Colo. Playing Taylor ahead of him just because he is an 'experienced premier league player' isnt really a good enough reason to make the swap. Im not saying he has been perfect but to jump on him after a few below par games is unfair.

His mistakes outweigh his few good performances. Ridiculous. Have you even seen any games this season?

And if we get relegated? We can't wait and be patient if it is as clear as day that we are heading for the drop. It's completely unreasonable to hold of criticism in a situation like that. Not that im in any way saying that at this moment in time we look likely to get relegated. If we survive, which i really do think we will, then of course we should give Hughton plenty of time to rebuild, because anything else is unrealistic. However, as i mentioned above, if later in the season it really looks likely that shit will hit the fan, criticism is more than justified.
