Yeah Johnson's been our best German-American imo, kind of disappointed he already agreed to go to Gladbach on a free. He's probably better on the wing, or at least has been for the US. Can play left back too, just overall a really useful player and surprised he wasn't more well known before this.

He does struggle positionally and in 1v1's against some of the better MLS wingers. Only 20 so I havel little doubt that will improve, his recovery pace negates a lot of that anyway. Think he'll spend at least the rest of the season in Seattle, maybe season and a half and move next summer. Get's some decent coaching and he'll be a very good fullback

Can't really complain about the performance. If we were good enough we would've won, fucking Wondo, never been a fan of his and never will. He's a great poacher against MLS/CONCACAF opposition, but has never proven it against good teams. We should have a fun few years ahead of us though, a lot of good young players coming through and a lot of tournaments scheduled.

Tbh, I'm not particularly taken with him, but I probably also haven't seen enough. Mostly I base my hopes for him off of what other people have said because many who watch more think he's going to be a huge addition to the national team. I know he played well this weekend, that's about it.

I'm with you. NigeriaShola is the only team I support on any level remaining in the tournament. The longer you deny your adoptive country (and weren't you fucking born here too?!), the longer they will continue to spite you. I was born here. I went to college here. I'm currently interning for the federal government. American big business will be paying my wages for the foreseeable future.
