The full article from The Athletic is incredible. https://theathletic.com/1745144/2020/04/15/mike-ashley-newcastle-united-takeover/ It's the Mike Ashley deep dive we've deserved for years
-
I'd imagine the Reubens main purpose is for land development/real estate.
-
We're supposedly a week into the test. Four weeks appears to me like it's more of a precaution with everything going on. So, conceivably, this could done next week.
-
Whew. That article got me really excited. We're so close.
-
Pretty surreal we're even at this point. Just opened up facebook and saw my first game at SJP was two years ago What a day that was, it's nice to finally look forward to more, hopefully. Might be much harder to find a ticket now, though. As for the Saudi stuff, I think if you choose to continue to follow the club there's no real way to justify it. I'm going to continue in the short-term for sure, mostly because I've been starved of any sporting success for years. Seeing NUFC realize its potential is going to be a fun ride, assuming it happens. No matter what though, they're a torturous regime and I wish it didn't have to be this way for us to get better, but it looks like it does.

Yeah, I don't see anyway this doesn't get approved by the Premier League. They're not going to turn down the money getting involved and potentially having another club competing at the top of the table and in Europe. Assuming the test did actually start a week ago, I think the only way this doesn't happen is Ashley pulls out

I thought the month was because of what's going on right now. Usually it's two weeks e: what 54 said
-
Confirmed they're laying people off. This is too much to feel at one time
-
it's fucking happening. holy shit
-
Just got told by work we're having a spur of the moment meeting that likely indicates layoffs. Quite a comedown from reading this thread
-
I wondered the same thing too when Ashley's son-in-law was initially mentioned earlier in the thread. Seems too good to be true, but why else would someone whose only connection to NUFC is purchasing land from the club be involved in a Companies House update involving a potential buyer? Don't feel comfortable screenshotting or copying his tweet if he's private for a reason, but he's essentially questioning why Michael Murray is mentioned with the 13m on Companies House. Murray is the one who bought the Strawberry Place land

Assuming PIF are involved and we have money to spend, I can't see Bruce remaining as manager for any period of time. Maybe they'll be diplomatic and move him into an advisory role or something like that, but we'll have some one better in to start next season. Can't believe it's come to the point where I can even say something like that, tho

Tariq Almansour's never let me down before
-
Probably isn't my favorite, but it was the first I saw live. Up until recently when the Premier League stared showing archived goals all over social media I had only seen stream quality video of it in which Martins turns into a blob of pixels as he scores.

It wasn't until I was a teenager I started watching football outside of World Cups, but the first player I tried to emulate was Shevchenko. It was not conducive to my style of play at all
-
I don't doubt that he had decent ideas, but he was absolutely a dick about the way he went about it. You could see it from the first episode, the marketing/comms team was already fed up with him. There's a way better approach to getting the most out of people than being a coked up asshole. Complaining about people leaving at 4:59 ffs. Such an outdated opinion on how employees work.
-
In any other circumstances this would be enough to tell me it's happening, but it's just so hard to believe
-
Good thing I am uniquely equipped to emotionally handle a pandemic and a Newcastle takeover at the same time
-
Yeah if you can't finish it I dont see any other option but to let the table stand as is. Way too much has been played.
-
I wasn't around these parts during Milner's time but I remember some fans on other forums slating him every match. He was one of my favorite players his final year here.
-
Not just goal music, but horrific goal music
-
Good for him

Didn't realize Bradley Wright-Phillips was his son until a year ago, he looked about 10-15 years older than him
