They will plummet even if the big 6 remain the EPL because it reduces the PL to a lesser competition, with the big 6 playing reserve teams. It will turn the PL into the League Cup.

I am in law, although I'm not an expert, I expect the PL will be able to sue for an injunction or damages due to a breach but it would have to be done through the courts rather than through the PL's own procedures... Perhaps they'll need to do arbitration first.

So as I understand it the PL cannot kick the clubs out as that requires a 75% majority, which the 6 can block. It will need governmental intervention.

But the PL will be devalued in both scenarios. If the "Super League" goes ahead it will be the club's priority, significantly reducing the prestige of the PL and by consequence the value of the TV rights. If the PL kick them out, it will reduce the prestige of the PL and by consequence the value of the TV rights, but at least you maintain the sporting integrity. No brainer.

Bidding for the next lot of PL TV rights was literally about to start. This is the moment of maximum leverage in terms of the English teams and PL. Those TV rights will be basically worthless until this is sorted out.
