Wish Bruce looked as slim a corner flag so Ritchie can boot him straight to planet Zordon.

Looked up the 06-07 table and didn't realise we were only 5 points clear of 18th. Not good, but by the same token he wasn't exactly brilliantly supported (all his early transfer targets like Kuyt, Gravesen, Sol Campbell went to other clubs; we ended up with Duff who we didn't even need and gambled on a crocked Olivier Benard return/Rossi loan on deadline day) plus he had all those injuries during the season. His caretaker spell and the Uefa run the following season does put him up above most of the offerings by the majority of the managerial dross that followed him. Seems like a brilliant guy and will be sadly missed. Yeah having to replace Shearer can’t have been easy also and when in Europe you always have the challenges of injuries. Deserves huge amount of credit for his caretaker spell alone (amazing to think we got into Europe from being relegation-threatened), but sounds like he was an excellent all-round servant also from what I hear. Some great tributes to the man going round. Aye. Having no Shearer, no budget, targets going elsewhere plus playing in Europe would have made most managers walk out mid season. He got on with it and we did stay up in the end. Compare that to the w***** c*** we have now who even whines when the club canteen is closed down.

Read somewhere he gave Krul and Carrol their senior debuts.
-
How long was he there for? Utterly Gross these clubs sacking managers like changing clothes.
-
Unsung hero. Player, captain, academy director, manager. A real 'Geordie' if you ask me. RIP well Glenn.

telling Jones to f*** off. When was this? bit of lip reading going on while bruce and jones were talking Apparently MOTD picked it up. Directed at Jones? Did they discuss it?
-
Hope his chewing gum glues his teeths together and he can't open his mouth during the pre-match interview.
-
It's Steve Bruce's way. Both will be the false no.10.
-
Countless time it's been brought up. Yes, its is that c***. Hope Shelvey gets sent off for calling someone a coucous nonce and never to be seen again in our team. Ever.
-
If that's the case, we'll roll our sleeves up for the Championship. It's a work in progress.

I'm at a point where if there is no takeover, and we are going down, let it be with Bruce. Can you imagine if he was sacked, Rafa or Howe or anyone else comes in and we still go down? The media, especially Buce's pals will say we should never have gotten rid of Bruce and that he would have kept us up. Or they'll wipe the memory of Bruce being here altogether and firmly lay the blame at whoever is in charge when we go down. Bruce would be smiling so arrogantly if someone else is blamed for his failure.

Good. Two refs that I have hated recently having major fuck ups and highlighted massively. mike Dean and Lee Mason, just hang up or smash away your whistle. Or go to Sunday League or somewhere.

Thread has got even more shitter than I would have imagined. As much as I admire Whitley mag[/member] 's positivity and confidence that this takeover will go through, and by the way, its good that there's a thread specifically for that, he did come into this thread and started (i don't know the word to use but perhaps) 'goading' gdm[/member] who had every right to be realistic and negative in this particular thread. You even admitted that you failed to resist the temptation in doing so to come in this thread and have a go at some who have given up. Found it sad reading you saying it's a good thing some of us have given up on the takeover. Then this thread turned childish real quick and hence the 3-4 pages of absolute verbal handbags between the two of you.

Desire? It's the ability to buy the club is what counts. f***. Even I have the desire to buy Newcastle United Football Club. And we must have Steve Bruce heading the takeover deal since we need to break off for a match tomorrow. Sorry Keith. That is utter bollocks. Things can get done even if a fucking match is on. Heck, Ashley even brought out Keegan during a match!
-
I hope some couscous fella kicks that bald headed mushroom in the balls tomorrow and ends his worthless career. Bruce best manager he's played under. What an utter pile of donkey dung.
-
Who's asking the question there? Not a voice I recognise. I didn't get a chance to hear him for Bruce butting in at every opportunity. That is both embarassing and cringeworthy. I'm so ashamed to have a cunt like him being manager of my club.

The f*** this topic being near the top?

Wait. Imminent. Soon. Keep the faith lads. Not the takeover. The closure of this thread. Make it on a Friday. 3pm.

Hahahaa. f*** beIN getting reinstated in Saudi. f*** that they Saudis and Qataris are buddies again. f*** that we have a bread loving lawayer who is an expert in sport cases taking charge of our case against the PL. f*** that things were going on in the background. It was never happening and this Saudi-MBS issue was always going to come back to light. There you have it.
-
MBS will never be a named director so unlikely to ever have an impact. Also US intelligence said the Iraqi’s had nuclear weapons, whether you believe this is true or not, it’s not a conviction in an international court of law. Cue the many letters to the PL to not let the Saudis takeover us. And no matter what you say that the PL can't go against any rules to disqualify MBS or the Saudis, they will. It's their rules, they make it, they can change it. They've done it to us last year, they'll do it again.

Rafa might have somewhat more of a direct line to the buyers but right now the only updates will be coming from Mike Ashley’s legal team. It’s anyone’s guess what will happen. I’m not holding my breath as far as Rafa is concerned Bit silly thinking Rafa's future is in any way indicative of where we stand with a multi million pound takeover by one of the richest sovereign wealth funds in the world. He may well be their first choice but I'm confident they'd be confident of having a plan b. Wouldn't even dream of plan B if they can't get their act together to force through plan A.

If he ends up at Celtic or anywhere else, it would give me some kind of closure in regards to the takeover here. I do believe, albeit just a very tiny bit in me, saying that Rafa knows what is going on with the takeover and once it is approved, he would come back. If he goes anywhere else, then I really don't care to follow any developments about the takeover until it happens (if ever it does).
