Hey now, while I think Arsenal are favourites, let's not got so far we praise Arteta.

Between these two, I think I make Arsenal favourites for the title, simply due to Arsenals bench compared to Liverpool's. Arsenal have so many more options, and still have 4/5 first teamers out, whereas Liverpool only have Frimpong out, and their only attacking sub is Chiesa and that 17 year old that scored on Monday, and their bench looks a tad average.

This is far from an ideal situation, there is no "good" option, we just need to make it out of the window with what suits us best. As I see it there are two different options, that could set long term precedents. 1) Isak stay's after rejecting £130m bid, he for all intents and purposes gets forced to join the squad again, the players don't like it they are livid with how he's acted, he doesn't like it so probably doesn't provide maximum effort, Howe doesn't like it, and it disrupts our season, and we'd likely have a poor season because of it, or he trains alone for a year, and his value depreciates. Either way all season, it'll be a story round our necks. 2) We sell for slightly under his value, we have a squad that is unified and want to progress and do as well as they can, but there is a chance going forward that players try the same tactic again. Option 1 is way worse than option 2 in my opinion. Then again I just want him fucked off, and want the story to just be gone, its fucking tiring.

"Hope" is doing a whole load of lifting in this like. I personally think this is just an edge case and not the norm, and can't really see it happening again. Its literally just pure conjecture and there is no proof it'll happen again. These "Sagas" have happened at other clubs before, and they've all been fine after.

I get why people would be upset if we sell for £130m but I genuinely just want him gone at this point, yes that value is a bit less than what we where asking, but that was probably always unrealistic anyway, and clubs sell below their public asking price all the time, so I don't think we'd lose face in that sense. If he stays it causes so many issues, firstly if he is reintegrated, the squad have apparently been seething at him for how hes acted, that it'll be a nightmare to not only get Isak to perform but to get them back onside. Secondly, if we just let him rot and train alone, as cathartic as it would be, it sends out a terrible message to any would be signing that may want to come here in the future, and in the year he'd be rotting his value would depreciate significantly and we'd lose out on guaranteed revenue now. Thirdly, Howe will be asked about it in every press conference, every pre and post match interview, that it'll just overshadow the entire season, and just continue the drama, Howe won't want that, and I certainly fucking don't. Then their are fans, his situation is untenable, it doesn't matter what he does, he's never turning anyone around, he's going to be booed continually, and get absolutely pelters, that'll it'll once against be a distraction. So it's at the point where we just need to get as much as we feasibly can, and chuck this guy into the sea, and good riddance too. Cunt.

That was the sort of game where it was so poor, where there was 0 quality at all from both sides, that I just say "Decent point move on", don't get angry or annoyed and instantly forget it ever existed.

I thought he played well to be honest, was tidy of the ball, and it was the most he imposed himself on a game in a while. Was baffled when I saw the critism of him in the match thread.

The opening games of the Champions League campaign and the Europa League games are separated by a week to give them their own stage, so they spread the games over 3 days for maximum coverage. It was the same last season.

I think I want the PSG game first up. It gets it out the way and they didn't have a pre-season after a long season last year, they've started slowly in the Super Cup and Ligue 1, so maybe we can catch them a bit cold after the international break.

It does show how well good our squad depth is, that even with Joelinton, Schar, Barnes and Gordon out, we still have a strong team.
